DC Comics - Harley Quinn
Cosplayer: Angie Starr * Photographers: Various
Harley Quinn is a flamboyant super-villain and an adversary of Batman usually recognized as the Joker's girlfriend, although she has had her own strong solo career. Born Harleen Quinzel, she had been working as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum where she was assigned to the Joker and fell in love with him. This led to her adopting her own costumed persona, adapting the word harlequin, to assist him escape and cause further mayhem. Their relationship is passionate and continuously off-on, with Harley's best friend Poison Ivy constantly encouraging her to break up with for good. However, Harley's love for the Joker eventually brings her back to his side with the Joker himself demonstrating a keen need for her despite himself. When not with the Joker, she has been working mostly on her own in Gotham City, sometimes teaming up with her other friends. Her special abilities include an enhanced physiology due to chemical experimentation, giving her increased strength, agility and durability. She has been a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains, the Secret Six, the Gotham City Sirens, and the Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn was originally created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm as a character in the DCAU. Her first appearance was in the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Joker's Favor." (1992) Several years later, her first appearance in regular continuity took place in the graphic novel Batman: Harley Quinn. (1999) - dc.wikia

Isn't the Lei'ku the name of the tendrils from the Twi'leks head? I don't know that character but it sounds like her name is the equivalent of 'hair'. And those eyebrows better be drawn on because everybody knows Twi'leks are sexy because they don't have hair!......I know this because I asked the question once "Why do you guys find this hot?" and I got torn up with lore barrage.

This cosplayer knows what she is doing, boys love Twi'leks....

Despite the fact that this Star Wars character name is equivalent to calling one's self "Nasal Cavity" the work behind the costumes is amazing

I wish these cosplayers would credit their costume designers in their pics - even if they designed the costumes themselves...

not saying they don't give credit when asked, but for example, did this cosplayer design the She-Ra costume herself or did she go to someone to have it made. What was the process? Materials included, cost, time it took?

I love staring at mostly naked chicks as much as the next guy but the intellectual section of my brain does look at things like quality of the craft so it'd be a nice nugget to add.

some of these costumes are little more than a colored leotard w/ a kiddie mask,or even lazier, just straight up body piant, but some of these costumes are friggin elaborate, detailed and just plain dope!

@Nailbiter111
any thoughts on doing a piece focusing on the costumes/designers themselves? like, who's the top cosplay costume designers state-side/abroad? I'd be interested to see like a top 10 amateur designers list with examples of their work
