If you're referring to The Amazing Spider-Man than you obviously don't know what originally made the character popular. He was one of the first, if not the first, teenage superhero who wasn't a side kick. He became famous because of his relatably, and in his early years he had teenage problems. He got picked on, asking girls on dates, his first job, he had a temper problem at times, and in his early days as Spider-Man he would sometimes get his a** kicked by villians, and he didn't make the wisest decisions, because he's a teenager. Ultimate Spider-Man is a teenager, and when Peter was around it was Marvel's most acclaimed and best selling comic. Peter came off as he did because he's a teen. He doesn't make the smartest decisions, so he has to learn from his mistakes, like everyone. Just because someone has something tramatic happen because of something they did wrong, doesn't mean they'll be perfect from then on out, especially when you're a teen. Your teenage years are your learning curve in life. Gwen is Peter's only friend and the only person he can open up to, so obviously he isn't going to want to let her go so easily, and he wasn't going to tell the captain no to his dying face when he offered the promise. Also, in the Ultimate comics, Peter and Aunt May weren't really the closest when Uncle Ben first dies. She even asked him in the comics if he liked her. The Amazing Spider-Man gets a lot of unnecessary hate, because people are so ignorant as to ignore the source material they herald so much, and to ignore what it's like to grow up and make mistakes.Also, who gives a f**k if Peter skateboards, if you have a problem with it than that just shows how judgemental you are. TASM was also the first movie where I've seen people complain about an actors hair as well.

Mary Jane will be a teenager in TASM2. How many white teenage girls have DDs and a big ass? How many teenage girls look like models?
You'd rather have some big titted slutty bimbo over a more realistic looking girl who has acting chops? Considering she's suppose to be a TEENAGER. Think Ultimate Mary Jane. That's more like what she's going to be, she won't stick out in an unrealistic way. How stupid, damn near shallow, would it be for some unrealistically hot girl to come strolling down the hallway amongst regular looking teens? Plus, most of the people whom people recommend, and whine about because they didn't get the part, look far too old to pass off as teens. Andrew looks around 20, Shaline looks around 18, and Emma Stone looks around 19-20, so it works. In the case of Andrew he could be passed off as a teen, because there are numerous teens who look far older than their age, sprouting beards and such. I find it stupid when people say Andrew is almost 30 and Woodley looks 18, because Andrew doesn't even look almost 30.
