Chris Pratt's COWBOY NINJA VIKING Taps A Pair Of New Writers In WRATH OF THE TITANS & RAMPAGE Scribes
Chris Pratt's upcoming Cowboy Ninja Viking movie, which has Michelle MacLaren directing, has found a pair of new writers in Wrath of the Titans scribe Dan Mazeau and The Commuter scribe Ryan Engle.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Universal has tapped Dan Mazeau and Ryan Engle to pen the latest draft for their upcoming film adaptation of Cowboy Ninja Viking.
Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) will be in the director's chair with Chris Pratt (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) headlining as a deadly secret agent, known as a Triplet, that can manifest the toughest skills of three very different personas: a Cowboy, a Ninja, and a Viking.
Production is set to begin this summer and the studio has already slated the film for a June 28, 2019 release date. Deadpool 2 scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese penned the initial script while Craig Mazin (The Hangover: Part II) turned in the screenplay's most recent draft.
This is the first joint-collaboration between Mazeau and Engle. Mazeau is best known for writing Wrath of the Titans and has also contributed to the scripts for Van Helsing and Luna Park, which have both been stuck in some early stage of development for the past several years. Meanwhile, Engle's past credits include a pair of Liam Neeson actioners, Non-Stop and The Commuter, and Dwayne Johnson's recent video game movie, Rampage.
