DEADPOOL 2's Rotten Tomatoes Score Has Been Revealed

As has now become commonplace, Rotten Tomatoes has officially unveiled the score for Deadpool 2 but how does it stack up against the likes of Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, and 2016's Deadpool?

Love it or hate it, Rotten Tomatoes has become an important tool for casual moviegoers to help them decide whether or not a movie is worth checking out. Being given a "Rotten" score can spell doom for many releases and being "Certified Fresh" can often help in terms of box office success. Right now, it appears as if Deadpool 2 will fall into the latter category as it has a rating of 85% based on 65 reviews.

55 of those are Fresh and only 10 are Rotten and Average Rating is 7.2/10. The Critics Consensus, meanwhile, reads: "Though it threatens to buckle under the weight of its meta gags, Deadpool 2 is a gory, gleeful lampoon of the superhero genre buoyed by Ryan Reynolds' undeniable charm." So, it seems the pop culture references were a little too much for some but far from the end of the world.

In comparison, 2018's first superhero movie Black Panther has a 96% score and Avengers: Infinity War has 84% (however, that's based on 320 reviews - it's still very much early days for Deadpool 2 in comparison). The signs are all pointing to this sequel being "Certified Fresh" and we'll be sure to let you know when that happens. What score do you think it will end up with? Share your thoughts below.

@soberchimera - I think I will end up loving it regardless, but in my heart TIM MILLER is the only director that fox has ever hired that I gave a [frick] about. Talk about understanding the source material from right out of the gate!!!!

When he was fired, I pretty much was like "well... flip a coin for the sequel I guess"

@PBIRD - I think critics are starting to be bias against cbms anyway, IW's score was waaaaay less than it should have been. Just compare it to the audience score.

I remember TASM 2 having a positive rating on RT at first & then it went down to a 53%, I hope it's not the case here with DP

@ANewPope - I'm pretty sure it's like that with most movies when they first get released. BvS had a pretty decent rating at first, then dropped after a week or so.

@YoloSwaggins812 - I am 99% sure BvS started off straight with a rotten score and just dropped down.

@ANewPope

This has a lot more reviews than TASM2. TASM2 has 10-20 reviews, this has 80+

@kylo0607 - Yeah, I counted down the seconds until the reviews started posting, and when they hit, it was a punch in the gut. It started a little higher, like in the low 40's, but they were never good.

@kylo0607 - I'm not strictly JUST talking Rotten Tomatoes. BvS had a good IMBd rating at first, then plummeted. I know because all the DC fanboys were raving about the movie and "how the kings have arrived" or "RIP Marvel."

Going to say 79% Certified. Which I will label as a huge success when in comparison to many Comedy Sequels.

Hangover 79 / Hangover II 33
Beverly Hills Cop 84 / BHC2 48
Ghostbusters 97 / Ghostbusters II 53

Not to mention Super Troopers, Miss Congeniatly, dumb and Dumber, ace Ventura...etc.

Win.
