FROZEN 2: New Trailer Heads Down A Darker Route And Broadens The Franchise's Mythology

The teaser for Frozen 2 took fans by surprise as it was quite clearly a much darker and more grown up sequel than anyone expected. Now, this new trailer doubles down on that and is a definite must-watch...

When the first teaser trailer for Frozen 2 was released, fans were taken aback by the direction Disney had chosen to take the franchise in. What most expected to be another jolly adventure for Anna, Elsa, and Olaf instead looked a lot darker, and it quickly became apparent that the studio was looking to bring back the kids who watched the original for a somewhat more mature adventure.

Now, another trailer has been released and this one doubles down on that darker tone while also dropping some big hints about where the story will take us, including a first look at some massive, ancient looking giants.

As expected, it seems like there's more to Elsa's powers than we thought, and that's going to involve our heroes travelling north as they look to save the world and discover the truth about their past. Thus far, Frozen 2 is looking like it has the makings of one of 2019's biggest hits, but it remains to be seen whether moviegoers will indeed embrace this new direction.

It looks epic, though, and this latest sneak peek definitely leaves us with plenty to discuss.

@BlackBeltJones - My 7 year old sister back home loves them, so they must be working somehow. The animation for this one looks gorgeous though, but compared to Zootopia & Moana that first Frozen feels a bit under-written.

@KingCipher - I like all that stuff and I watched this and it wasn't as "great" as some people had said it would be to me. People were telling me Frozen is a masterpiece blah blah. It was fine for me.

Tangled I found to be better for example.

@KingCipher - Ehhh, Tangled was better than Frozen imho. Zootopia was amazing, best animated film of the last few years for me. Really dug Moana too.
