DOCTOR STRANGE Gets PROMETHEUS Writer; Jared Leto In The Running For Title Role
Director Scott Derrickson has shared his thoughts on helming Doctor Strange for Marvel Studios, and now a writer has been found! That will be Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts, and in even more exciting news, Dallas Buyers Club's Jared Leto is being eyed for the title role...
According to Deadline, Marvel Studios is in talks with Jon Spaihts to write the script for Doctor Strange. If that name is familiar, it could be because he's been attached to write Universal's reboot of The Mummy, as well as the first draft of Sir Ridley Scott's Prometheus. The plan is to get a script and put this movie in production as soon as possible, so don't be surprised if it's announced as Marvel's other 2016 movie. Oh, and that shortlist of actors including Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch? They've been joined by Academy Award winning actor Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club). The first draft of the Doctor Strange script was penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. Would you guys like to see Leto get the part? Sound off below!
