Filming For DOCTOR STRANGE Has Moved To The UK
We hope you appreciated the early Doctor Strange filming coverage because it sounds like we may not get any new set photos or videos for quite some time, at least according to this new report and partially the Sorcerer Supreme himself, Benedict Cumberbatch. Check it out!
As the cast of Doctor Strange grows seemingly by the day, principal photography on the much-anticipated Marvel adaptation has already moved from on location in Nepal to studio sound stages in England. It was initially reported by Screen Daily that filming has picked up at Longcross Film Studios and will be continuing there until the spring of next year; so much for more set photos.
Less than 24 hours after wrapping the Nepal shoot earlier this week, Doctor Strange leading man Benedict Cumberbatch headed to London to receive his Commander of the British Empire award from Queen Elizabeth II, who he informed of his Marvel-ous role. “She asked what I was doing at the moment,” Cumberbatch told BBC after the ceremony. “I told her I'd finished a three-month run at the Barbican. And I told her I just got back last night from filming in Nepal, playing Doctor Strange for Marvel, which it has just begun. I go back to doing in-studio work here tomorrow…”
This pretty much confirms that Doctor Strange is currently shooting indoors and will be doing so for quite some time, if not for the remainder of the shoot. And according to this guy, some of the first interior scenes involved both Benedict and Rachael McAdams, whose role has yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, there has to be some additional exterior scenes to be shot which could hopefully provide some more set photos. If you happen to live in the United Kingdom, be on the lookout for filming notices for Eye See You, which is the clever working title for Strange. What do you think?
Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange so far stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange), Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo), Amy Landecker, Scott Adkins, Michael Stuhlbarg (Nicodemus West), with Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One) and potentially actor Mads Mikklesen, and the movie is currently scheduled to open in theaters on November 4, 2016.
