DOCTOR STRANGE Writer C. Robert Cargill Has Reportedly Signed On To Pen The Sequel
It was recently announced that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson will return to helm the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel, & now we're hearing that screenwriter C. Robert Cargill will be joining him.
It may have taken a while, but Marvel Studios is finally moving forward with the highly anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange.
We found out that the first film's director Scott Derrickson was officially set to helm the follow-up late last year, and now That Hashtag Show has confirmed that screenwriter C. Robert Cargill will also be returning to help him pen the script.
Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise the role of The Sorcerer Supreme, and he'll be joined by Benedict Wong as fellow wizard, Wong. Rachael McAdams is also "likely" to return as Strange's love interest, who really didn't get a whole lot to do in the first film. We still don't know if Chiwetel Ejiofor will be back, but Cargill has previously suggested that Mordo does have a part to play in the story, which is expected to feature Nightmare as the main villain.
All going well, production on Doctor Strange 2 is expected to get underway by spring of 2020, with an eye on a May 2021 release.
