Kevin Feige Offers DOCTOR STRANGE Update; Hints At Post 2015 "Phase 3" Release Date
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reveals that they are actively working on "trying to crack" a Doctor Strange movie and that we should probably expect to see the film as part of "Phase 3" following The Avengers 2 and Ant-Man.
In an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige has revealed that a Doctor Strange movie is most definitely on Marvel Studios' radar and quite possibly even set for release as soon as 2016 or 2017. When he was asked about whether they're actively working on a big screen adaptation for the Sorcerer Supreme, he said: "Dr. Strange is something that I talk about often and it’s sort of next up for us to dig into and explore. Our executive producer of Iron Man 3, having done Captain America: The First Avenger and as that was finishing he started working on the bones that would become Iron Man 3, and now that he’s finished with Iron Man 3, he’s working on the bones that would become Doctor Strange. Now that Iron Man 3 is finished, some of our quote-unquote spare time is going to be devoted to trying to crack Strange." Of course, what most fans will REALLY want to know is not if, but WHEN we will finally see the character join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Luckily, Feige had an answer for that as well! "As we look past 2015, past Avengers 2 and Ant-Man, I think Dr. Strange should be one of the next movies in the years following that." So, mark it down in your calendars comic book movie fans!
