DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Rumored To Include New Comic Accurate Costume For The Hero

While Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme has always looks pretty cool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new rumour claims Sam Raimi will give the hero a new comic accurate outfit in the sequel...

Marvel Studios has always done a great job with the costumes worn by the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest heroes and villains, but it sounds like big changes might be in store for Doctor Strange. While the Sorcerer Supreme has looked pretty cool up until now, it seems Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi has some ideas of his own.

According to Discussing Film, "one source just teased to us that the crew have designed a new, comic accurate look for Doctor Strange himself."

We don't have any further details when it comes to what that might look like, but it's no secret that Raimi is a huge fan of Steve Ditko's artwork.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi gave Strange his yellow gloves from the comics, but they had vanished by the time Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame rolled around.

There's lots Raimi could do with the character, and it makes sense to change his appearance for a movie which not only looks set to embrace the idea of the Multiverse, but show the Scarlet Witch suited up in her own comic accurate costume. This feels like the right move from Strange, especially as he's likely fully embraced his role as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme after everything that's happened.

Shooting is currently taking place on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so stay tuned for more (as a first look of some sort might not be too far away at this point).

His shirt was probably not baggy loose fitting in movie to comics maybe they will add yellow dishwashing gloves to his hands again

This is already pretty great.

@SpaceAgent - yeah if they never change it I wouldn't have a problem. We know the cloak should stay the same as it's a plot item similar to mjornir. Maybe the shirt won't be a robe design?

I can see Raimi going pretty comic accurate with everything. I mean Spider-Man 1 apart from the lack of Web Shooters and Green Goblins costume was a Ditko Spider-Man comic come to life. I imagine that he will pretty much copy Ditkos exact design here as well.

How much more accurate can it get? Although I would love a more larger than life cloak and collar.

I'd like to see this look and the Necromancer look.

As much as Cumberbatch owned the role and the Aladdin Cloak was fun...

Cumberbatch’s WIG and Costume just look so cheap. Felt like I was looking more at a Fan dressed up to walk around a Comic Con than the costume for the main character in a Blockbuster film.

Any help to ease the cringe of his costume would be greatly appreciated.

Cumberbatch is just too good in the role. And with Downey, Evans and Boseman gone...really need Strange to take the Lead.

It always seemed like it was to me apart from a couple of adjustments, so this is certainly an interesting development.

@WakandanQueen - Spider-Man 2 is still my favourite CBM. These movies hold up really well even today.

@WakandanQueen - Watch this one on the regular. I really appreciate how it shows Peter's everyday struggles as a student, employee, and simple friend. Plus, Doc Ock

I'd like to see a costume like the one from Waids run on DS. Its sleek and easily adaptable for the movies. I'm referring to the Herald Supreme story where Galactus and Dormammu square off.
