300 and Watchmen speed edits (video)

All of Zack Snyder's Slow-mo sped up. Just for fun.

I honestly can't stand Zack Snyder's style. I hate his 14 year old mentality, his choices in music (but that is another entire article in itself) and I especially hate the unnecessary "speed-up/slow-down" effect he puts on all of his fights sequences. So I did an experiment to speed up the footage from Snyder's comic adaptations.

^this fight is half as long without the slow motion bits.

So yeah. I just did these cause I found it amusing and wanted to share. But I've got to say: I wouldn't be surprised at all if Zack Snyder's Superman movie turns out to be only one hour long if you remove the slow mo.

Slow motion can be very effective. Sure. When its used to highlight something special about the scene. The problem with Snyder is he uses slow motion for the most trivial things. For instance there is no reason for the swat scene from watchmen to be in slow mo. Every single one of his fight scenes has slow motion in it and after a while it starts to really draw attention to itself. All of that said, I will say the Dr. Manhattan on mars scene is brilliant filmmaking but even that had some overuse of slo-mo.

I like Zac Snyder, at least he's faithful to the source material, and the Slow mo looks awesome when he uses it.
Having said that, I do hope he doesnt use it much in Man of Steel, maybe just to emphasize like, one incredibly powerful punch Superman lands on Zod or something, just for emphasis.

Still, it was cool seeing them at normal speed!

I love Snyder's directorial style and I love his use of Slo-mo but I agree with ACira that he must not use too much Slo-mo in Man of Steel except for a sequence that shows he is faster than a speeding bullet.
