If you've watched that horrible adaptation of Green Lantern. Then you are a real fan. If you liked it, then something is odd about you. Anyways this fictional story is not about me or you. It is about an Intergalactic Police Force!
It has been 5 years since his induction, yet most still don't understand how the Guardians allowed a human in. During this span 3 Human Lanterns have been inducted into the force to monitor sector 2814. Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner. All have shown the capacity to lead and be great in battle.
Move forward 3 years, Sinestro, once an ally to the human Lanterns murdered a fellow Lantern. He was put on trial an sentenced to life imprisonment in a Sciencell.
Jordan, Stewart, and Kilowog was deployed to investigate a planet on sector 2811, and seek a criminal known to have kidnapped hordes of alien creatures for untold reasons. Days have passed and no progress have been made.
Meanwhile in Oa, the Guardians are once again putting Sinestro on trial to finally decide his life's fate. Execution or Life Imprisonment. During the second trial an ambush have been set up to execute the Guardians themselves and purge the order that has been withstanding for millenniums. During the commotion and chaos there has been a large contingent of traitors revealed who plotted against the Guardians. A coup d'tat ensues plunging Oa into deep oblivion and fellow Lanterns stationed on Oa are forced to fight one another.
Sinestro has succeeded.
With the final blow to the remaining Guardians, he has stamped his status as ruler of galaxy.
Hal and company comes back from their mission to see Oa in ruins. Upon further investigation, the remaining Lanterns learned that Sinestro have crippled their force by destroying the Power Battery. All Lanterns stationed all over the galaxy have been pronounced either dead or missing. With hope lost and gone Hal sent Stewart and the remaining Lanterns to scour the galaxy for survivors. Hal stayed in Oa to reform the batteries and rebuild a much need Power Battery to fend off Sinestro from the hall.
On his adventures, Hal met a young Oan who accompanied him look for the parts, fragments, to rebuild the Power Battery. With no GL ring to support Hal, he has to survive Oa and it's mysterious environment with this fellow Oan who seems to know too much. They set foot on a mission to put the Force back up in strength.
Their adventures spanned the deserted Wasteland underneath Oa's capital to underwater caves that presented an entrance to a lair that once was a proud forum for the Guardians before technology took over their civilizations. Here Hal learned the history of the galaxy and why the Lanterns truly exist. Most importantly he learned about the beings called New Gods.
Upon reaching an old chamber that housed a what used to be the central power battery, they ran into a problem in which they lacked the Starheart component that fuels these old batteries. Once found they set in motion events that will decide the fate of the galaxy.
Sacrifices have been made during the journey, comrades have been killed. And the will has yet to be harnessed by Hal and company. But the young Oan spoke and told Hal his true intention. Upon realizing that he was actually chosen to carry on the flame of the Lanterns. Hal amplified his will and unleashed the old power batteries.
With a sufficient back up with Hal and group, they schemed on how to take over the capital against Sinestro and his army. A newly formed Lantern Corp, Sinestro Corps. Beings who feeds off the fear of individuals, those who instill fear across the galaxy. This was how Sinestro held down his sector and this is how he wanted to rule the Galaxy, with an Iron Fist!
A war is brewing and it culminates in Lanterns fighting other Lanterns. Things are flying, buildings are collapsing. This is a battlefield no one wanted to be in. It is brutal, violent and merciless. After a successful takeover by Hal and co. Sinestro and Hal have finally come face to face. Sinestro then revealed that he actually wanted to destroy the planet itself and not the infrastructure of the galaxy. He wanted a new capital, a new regime, he simply wanted a message big enough that it will get the entire galaxy's attention.
Sinestro wanted to plunge MOGO onto Oa...
Now the focus has changed from stopping Sinestro to stopping MOGO's gravitational field to not enter or be near Oa. It would be doomsday for everyone, the Lanterns, the Oans.
After a lengthy battle, Hal and co. have succeeded in snapping up MOGO from Sinestro's control, unfortunately, Sinestro during the very chaotic scene have managed to get away before being apprehended. After a long hard fought battle Hal and co. celebrated.
The celebration was short lived as he realized that Sinestro was onto something far greater that he could have envisioned. Sinestro have learned about the equation. He realized that him destroying Oa was just a phase of a greater plan he has. Now Hal and co. scramble to intercept Sinestro from heading to Earth and invading it.
