I'm FINALLY done with giving the finishing touches to this first Avengers poster (out of the two which I've been working on) today! After starting somewhere in mid-June (delayed due to a REALLY hectic schedule) it's complete at last! Check it out below...



I originally envisioned the poster to have just the main characters: Fury, Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye & Black Widow but as the development went on I thought, what the heck! I'll just include Maria Hill, Agent Coulson, Loki & a Skrull too! LOL

I happened to chance upon this cool Infinity Gauntlet comic book cover (that I hadn't seen before) & got immediately inspired to start work on a poster that would emulate this rad cover (well, at least in a way a "movie" poster would). I also liked the theme of Thanos & the Infinity Gauntlet as I had read rumors about him gonna be the possible villain in the movie. Also previous rumors (though THESE may not be true) of the Skrulls appearing in the film made me add a Skrull in it too for good measure! LOL

Would love to read your rants & raves below, things you liked about it & things I could improve on...

[FRICK]ING great!

Apart from the not-really-fitting INFINITY GAUNTLET there and some very minor manip flaws, this is nice!

And I know this should be hard to make, you've done much work dude, great job!

P.S. The website text on the bottom better be all low-cased, but no big deal.

@Jolt17 Thanks Jolt! I'd really like it if you could tell me about the 'minor manip flaws'...trying to improve out here ya know! :) And wot did you mean by the Gauntlet 'not-really-fitting'? And about the website- point taken...will do the changes & post it in my "Making of" post next :)

@nj No big deal, the CAP suit is kinda rough and the G.I. JOE feel on HILL's suit is still visible, but overall still looking good!

As for the GAUNTLET, isn't the image taken from the photo of the Comic-Con some times before?

The lighting isn't that fitting, and hence it's not that 'cinematic' feel or...hard to explain actually, lol.

But again no big deal, it's just me lol, still great piece of art!

And yeah, good if you fix the website text, just to be more believable as commonly real posters are so.

I like the poster.....but I don't think that we'll be seeing ALL of those villains. Loki and Thanos....maybe. Loki and the Skrulls....maybe. All of them? No bloody way.

@Jolt17 *Well the Cap pic was taken from a rough Cap movie poster...I just modified it to look like the 1 in latest teaser poster we all saw...if you check out the HQ version from the blog you'll be able to see the changes...
*I was trying to think of how I could change up the Hill costume so it looks less recognizable but couldn't- any ideas?
And no issues man...just wanna improve it more...Thanks once again!

@Jolt17 (& whoa123) LOL yup the Gauntlet's from the SDCC 2010! haha Kool I'll change the lighting on it & do some color correction in the next post of mine...don't worry I understood exactly what you meant lol!

@SuperDude001 You actually have a point there...In my 2nd poster there aren't gonna be any villains, just foreshadow...

@jjmeylar Thanks! And ya, I know lol. We all know Loki's in for sure...Thanos seems more of a possibility than the Skrulls imo (due to the appearance of the Gauntlet at SDCC 2010) but I just added a Skrull for kicks lol

@nj Oh yeah, just the blue part on the CAP suit isn't that textured, so it's kinda rough for me...but again, no big deal, looking good!

For HILL...probably the base body is not really correct, I mean that G.I. JOE suit is too armored, what about BLACK WIDOW's suit, and add some white straps on it?

And great now you understand about the GAUNTLET, still nice tho!

*Hmmm ya, I've tried working on the suit a bit more...
*Gauntlet's done, you can check it out once I upload the Version 2.0 :P
*For Hill I could've gone the Black Widow suit route but thought not cos that would be too obvious. Instead I've simply searched out catsuit images (which was a lotta fun I must say :P) & will be using elements from those. I realized my mistake- Hill wears a catsuit so you were right about the bulky armor. I searched Hill pics & yup the Hill 2.0 should be, well- more "Hilly"! LOL
And as always inputs from you (& anyone else) are always welcome (as long as they make sense :P)

@Nephillim So you Indian too huh? You aren't Rahul Gogate, are you?

Meh. The monster looking guy with the blue hat makes the whole thing ruined, imo. But you got talent, for sure.

Nice homage to the old Infinity Gauntlet cover. And good job erasing those stupid suspenders on Cap.

I really doubt we'll be seeing Thanos in the movie, though.

Cobie Smulders wishes she had Rachel Nichols' body. ;^)

as nice as your artwork is...if the Avengers movie's villain is Thanos (lookin the way he does in the poster), it might put off a lot of non-fanboy audience and kill it at the box office sooner than GL.
