A Perfect Dragon Ball Movie

Directed by: James Cameron

Written by: ???

Distributed by: Walt Disney

Running Time: 2 Hours

Starring:

Noah Ringer as Kid Goku

Tony Jaa as (Teen) Goku

Chow-Yun Fat as Master Roshi

Zac Efron as Yamcha

Camila Sodi as Bulma Briefs

Garry Oldman as Dr. Briefs

James Marsters as Piccolo

This is how a perfect
movie of Dragon Ball should be respectfully done appreciatively. Bring all
these things, people, ideas together and you would have yourself a perfect
movie that will surely be best movie of the year and would get way more money
than The Dark Knight, Avatar, and Iron Man 2 all together. This may be
expensive to make, really expensive, but it would be worth it and will surely
get all 5 stars. Greatest cartoon should adapt to greatest movie and be called,
“The Movie That Blew Away Avatar.” I’m sure most of you can feel what I’m
talking about.

The reason I say it should be Directed by James Cameron is because we have all seen the wonders he did with the look of the world of Avatar. Dragon Ball needs that beauty and feel on the surrounding landmarks. Just imagine the landmarks from the cartoons; the mountains, desserts, the city, etc. Dragon Ball needs that and was birthed to have these looks in a live action film. The look of the cartoon just screams, “James Cameron is the only!”

I think the company of Disney should be involved. They can give that magical feel they give in all their movies when magic is summoned. After seeing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and the magical look and feel they provided, I suddenly imagined the look of how the powers would look in a Dragon Ball movie. Dragon Ball deserves the company of Walt Disney and I’m sure some will agree and others will not.

The proper justice for the length of the film should be two hours straight; nothing higher and nothing lower. It would be enough to show the origins, enough time for the characters to have their time and enough for a great story ending with a special cliff hanger. Characters that should be in the movie and have all their justice time is the ones I listed above and others. They should try not to over fill the film with characters. Other characters include: Krillin, Red Ribbon Army, Grandpa Gohan, Piccolo Jr., Kami, Hercules (appearance at the Martial Arts Tournament), Chi-Chi, and Dr. Gero (cameo of the Red Ribbon Army). Maybe Kevin James as Yajirobe. I know he's way older but it doesnt have to be exactly like the cartoon.

Now, the movie should be close and faithful to the anime/cartoon. We don’t want it so faithful that every scene looks familiar. I hated when people made their Fan-Fic stories and it would copy every scene that the cartoon provided, only with new little lines. We don’t want to go Watchmen’s way even though it was good. Its okay to make another story but please don’t do anything the actual creator wouldn’t do.

Maybe Noah Ringer could be cast for Kid Goku? It was hard to pick between the child actors and he Noah Ringer plays in The Last Airbender as Aang. I think it could really work (with the hair of course).

I think Tony Jaa should play Goku. He’s an Asian and all he would need to do is learn proper English and we would have a damn perfecto Goku.

Chow-Yun Fat was a terrific Master Roshi in Dragonball Evolution. Just make him more like the anime and he will be perfecto (without the hair old man).

I don’t know that much about Camila Sodi but I have heard she was considered for Bulma in 2007. I think she would be perfect as both young and older Bulma.

As for Gary Oldman as Bulma’s father, Dr. Briefs, do I need to say anything with the picture below.

I was going to do a Fan-Fic story along with this but I wanted you all to see if my ideas would be good or not. Please Rate and Comment below :)

I was actually about to work on an Editorial for a Dragonball z Movie. For one what I think is that they should NOT do the Reign of Piccolo until we can get that bad taste of Dragonball Evolution out of our mouths! with that said I think if anything they should start at least a trilogy starting with the Saiyan saga. going through the Cell Games. I myself have been coming up with many ideas on how this should be done and since i saw yours I think i will go ahead and work on the article for it.

also another thing, I am just gonna go ahead and state that I have no problem with Goku being white (Justin Chatwin) because there is no form of Asia in the DBZ world. hell they have none of the same features that we have soo how is Goku Asian? Im just saying for future reference I have no problem with the race for Goku in DBZ as long as it isn't completely off on his skin tone

@BrazilianBatman

Honestly you may be right on us not being ready for it. but i think it is possible to make a good DBZ movie. After Seeing Avatar. I can seriously picture a live action planet Namek. even a planet Vegeta. The main problem with dbz evolution was the fact that they tried to Modernize it with school and all. GOKU DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL. things should be like the manga and Cartoon. correction remastered cartoon.

@THE BATMAN
Oh Kool, I cant wait to see your take on the movie. But what better to get rid of a bad taste than eating the correct type again. Why keep a bad taste until it goes away when u can eat the correct type and fall in love again. Its not like we're burnt out or something. Maybe not the Reign but a different story while his reign like the Red Ribbon tie in, etc. But I appreciate and like your opinion. It would be a good idea but I just think the best idea is a Dragon Ball; not a reboot/sequel/prequel

@brazilianbatman
As for the race thing, really doesnt matter people. Both Asian and whites are used as Goku. I like this guy as Goku though and they arent Asians, they are aliens that resemble both Asian and Whites in the cartoon. So choices are choices. Whether u use that race or that race. We not making him black or Indian so people cant get mad.Photobucket

I think it's possible to make a really good Dragonball movie, but nothing is perfect. Anyway, even if they were able to make a near perfect Dragonabll movie, I don't think it would do Avatar box office numbers. It's kind of facing an uphill battle to convince the general public to take it seriously. There are so many people out there who think it's just impossible to make a good Dragonball movie.

@BIGBMH

Correct nothing is perfect but with Dragon Ball, it will undoubtedly have to be greatest movie. And also you are correct about going against Avatar because people won't take it serious. But with the correct (Expensive) Producer then it would be taken serious and get the exact justice it needs. Its just hard to view a Producer worthy of Dragon Ball

I only like the casting for Young Goku and Dr. Briefs. Tony Jaa doesn't look like Noah Ringer so that would be weird. I can't imagine Jaa pulling off Goku's humor and positive personality.

James Cameron hasn't done much martial arts or comedy. My director pick would be Zack Snyder, but really the director would have to just get what Dragonball is about: a fun expansive fantasy adventure. It should start out kind of like Indiana Jones where wild child Goku goes around collecting dragonballs with an intrepid, sarcastic Bulma. Then, the sequel should be more marital arts based with Piccolo and Budokai tournament. If Last Airbender turns out great, maybe some people in Hollywood will learn a thing or two. Too bad Fox has the rights though!

@fanboiii

Yes but cant they do something that would make Noah look a lil like Tony Jaa. I heard this but I really dont know what they do in Hollywood. As for the personalities, Jaa might be able to have Goku's personality locked down. Thats what actors do, they act. Living proof is even Family Guy showed it. Remember when Stewie wanted to live in the life of his favorite T.V show and Brian took him to the studio and he found out everything was fake. When he found out, he ran to the fairy mother or something and she wasnt sweet like in the cartoon; she was a evil foreign bitch that didnt even sound close to how she sounds in the cartoon; american

Not bad but hell NO to Cameroen directing it, if it were up to him he'd divert completley from the source material.

@Ryden

Thanks and the only reason I say James Cameron is because he is the only shown that he can bring the beauty that Dragon Ball deserves. He has proved himself for Dragon Ball. But I see what you're saying that he may divert way from the material. That being speaking, maybe he can be Co. or something and let the correct script Writer does what he wants like Edward Norton and The Incredible Hulk.
