This is probably the hardest fancast that I have done so far. There are so many great actors to play this role, but as my previous casting choices, I got to go with one. A lot of you were not satisfied with my choices for the Green Lantern reboot, or were giving me the message saying that I shouldn't have done it in the first place. For those who still think that Aquaman sucks, let me give those who still think that a few reasons why he's awesome. He has super strength like superman, including lifting a building over his head and getting hit with a tsunami and not flinching, he's bulletproof, he can control all of the water particles in the air and create a weapon out of it, not only can he control fish, but also creatures like the Hydra, the Kraken, and Cthulhu, he lost both his hands and gained them back, he owns Poseidon's trident, he is one of the founding members of the Justice League, and last but not least, he is the king of the seven seas, which means he owns 70% of the planet. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, here are my choices of characters for the world of AQUAMAN.
Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, Melancholia) as Aquaman aka Arthur Curry aka Orin
As I said before, this is by far the hardest casting for me, and I believe there will be more difficult ones for me to come along, but I have seen many different choices for this character, and I think that Alexander has what it takes to play the king of Atlantis. For starters, he already looks like a superhero, and he would be pleasing to both the male and female audience. He can be suave, but he can also be brooding and badass. He also comes off as someone who is not of this earth. He comes off as someone who shows authority, and that is what Aquaman must have.
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Mera
This is another one of those characters that doesn't take crap from anybody and shows real authority just like Daenerys (Clarke) on Game of Thrones. I'm very interested where Emilia goes with her acting career and I can't wait to see her as the new Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis.
Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Equilibrium, Game of Thrones) as Tom Curry
Another Game of Thrones actor, Sean can be minor enough to play a character like this, and he can pull off playing a father figure really well, and comes off inspiring from time to time, and I think this would be the perfect opportunity for him to pull it off just like Kevin Costner.
Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) as Black Manta
After watching Young Justice, Chiwetel was the one who I thought looked just like Manta under the helmet. I recently got a chance to see 12 Years A Slave, and Ejiofor is absolutely magnificent, and I would not be surprised if he won Best Actor.
Wes Bentley (American Beauty, The Hunger Games) as Ocean Master aka Orm Marius
I decided to go with an actor who seems like the cocky type, but somewhat of an other worldly vibe to them. Wes has impressed me over the past few years, especially with The Hunger Games, so I have no doubt that he would do a good job with this role.
Who would I get to direct the film?
David Yates!
So those are my choices on who should star in a Aquaman movie. If you disagree, feel free to voice your opinion on who should play these characters.
