Avengers Debut Trailer (fan-made)

My trailer for The Avengers, set to a song that I think works very well for the tone of the movie. Check it out to find out which song I chose!

I respectfully disagree. Many of the lyrics fit various aspects of the movie well and the scenes match them.

New York: site of the final battle

"This is the finish my friend, this is the end. It's a revolution, it’s a civilian revenge": Loki wants to bring about the end of human freedom and get vengeance.

"Whenever an era dies another era begins.": This relates to the passage of the time show in the MCU as the new generation takes over. (Howard to Tony)

"Towers are crumbling. Bridges are falling": This clearly relates to the chaos and destruction of the battle.

"Limits are fading, the normal is boring,": Bruce banner's transformation into the Hulk marks the pushing of limits of what is possible for human beings, while the normal Bruce himself is ordinary (arguably boring in comparison to the Hulk).

"Look at the time movie progressively forward": Steve Rogers, the man out of time, seeing the new world for the first time. This is a defining aspect of the character.

"These American stripes, these American stars": Captain America, the symbol of patriotism

"This is not a riot it's way much more than that. These people are dying, we are under attack!": The earth is under attack by the chitauri.

@Magnus66, a bunch of random clips from a movie compiled together... you mean a trailer?

@HULK2099, another worthwhile contribution. thank you so much for making such an in depth critique.

@Mrcool210,

I get that it doesn't really work for you, but it's a musical genre. Rap may have all sorts of things associated with it, but when it comes down to it, I believe words and mood are the most important parts. This isn't some Waka Flaka club hit or a description of life on the streets. It's a song about being in a dire situation.

I'm not calling you racist or anything, but I think if you can acknowledge that the lyrics fit well yet the music still seems unfitting to you, it's probably more about a cultural bias that comes form your own perspective than how well the song fits with the tone and themes of the movie. Someone who has grown up listening to mostly rap and reading comics could just as well say that the Nine Inch Nails song used in the first trailer isn't ideal for The Avengers because it just doesn't speak to them. It's all very arbitrary and subjective. Orchestral music for trailers is really the only type that doesn't really carry cultural associations.
