Batman casting

My Ideas for a batman recast of characters & concepts that I believe would work for a reboot

This is just my cast choices if & when they decide to revamp the characters within the new DCU. While some may not be original I stand by my choices as they are to my knowledge at least on the same level as most other casts. This would also served if the decided to do an amalgamation of the Burton & Nolan worlds, where the characters are while remaining fantastical in nature has a very realistic sense to them. I could easily see the business man in TDKR as Gobblepot, a scene where they make fun of his suits & mock him calling him Penguin behind his back. He does not need to have elaborate umbrella weapons, but a cane with a sword or that shoots a short single round wouldn’t be too unrealistic. Plus using criminals means to gain power either in Gotham or abroad(as in the movie) is a very “penguin” thing to do. So with no adieu here are my castings with villains yet to come

Batman (Bruce Wayne)

The "patriarch" of the team, young Bruce Wayne witnessed the brutal murder of his parents as a child, and used this trauma and his vast personal wealth to travel the world and acquire the skills needed to wage his war on crime.[13] > Recently, Wayne revealed to the public that he had been secretly funding Batman's activities for years (stopping short of admitting that he is Batman) and would use a new corporation, Batman Incorporated, to take Batman and his mission around the world.[14] In the DC Universe, Batman is seen as something of an outlaw, although holds a high reputation with many people due to his status as a member of the Justice League.[

Joshua Jackson ( Fringe, The Skulls, Urban Legend)

His role in Fringe has mainly sealed it for me; he is physically the correct age & height for the character. If your decision is based on how well he can portray both Bruce & Batman, look no further than the current season, ranging from emotional grief, to rage & vengeance, to control & logical too playful & witty. He has what it takes & if he beefed up would be imposing in full garb.

Robin/Nightwing Dick Grayson:

An orphaned child acrobat who originally served as Batman’s first sidekick, Robin, and became Bruce Wayne's ward[16] and later adopted son.[17] As an adult, he took up the identity of Nightwing, and served as protector of Blüdhaven, Gotham's ugly sister city to the south.[18] During an extended absence of Bruce's, Dick temporarily served as Batman.[19] Grayson has since returned to the identity of Nightwing.

Caleb Steinmeyer ( Boy Wonder):

This is the only movie I’ve seen him in, aptly named for the character no matter if he will be in the Robin/Nightwing costume. He is the perfect age is you do not want too young a Robin & if they should decide to do it like the new 52 then he is perfect for the role.

Alfred Pennyworth –

The Wayne family butler and father figure to the rest of the Wayne family. Alfred raised Bruce Wayne after his parents were killed.

Stanley Tucci ( Captain America TFA, The Lovely Bones< etc, etc)

The talented & often under rated Stanley Tucci can portray any character in my book. I chose him because he has the right balance of wit, charm, intelligence & warmth to play Alfred. If British & Australian actors can play American, then vice versa. Also he reminds me of the old animated series Alfred as he can be very sarcastic in certain roles. Who remembers him as Muerte in Undercover Blues?

Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) –

The daughter of Gotham police commissioner James Gordon, Barbara began operating as Batgirl soon after the first appearance of Robin.[26] After she was left paraplegic by the Joker, she became Oracle, the information broker to the DC Universe, and founded a covert team of female operatives called the Birds of Prey.[27] Following a miraculous and as-yet unknown method of recovery, Barbara began to serve as Batgirl once again.

Chloe Moretz

Yes Hit-girl but when you’re perfect for a part you’re perfect, I don't think I need to elaborate. Plus she is really growing into a beautiful women & exceptional actress

Catwoman

Selina Kyle was one of Batman's early adversaries. In later years, she becomes his frequent love interest and defender of Gotham City's East End.[10] One year after the events of Infinite Crisis, she retired (allowing Holly Robinson to take the mantle of Catwoman) and gave birth to a baby girl named Helena. Batman calls her out of retirement to infiltrate an Amazon sect.[32] Following a series of kidnappings of her baby, Catwoman gives her daughter up for adoption. In the New 52, Selina is a 23 year-old thief who is in a sexual relationship with Batman.

Shannyn Sossamon (A Knights tale, 40 days & 40 night, Law & Order, Dirt etc)

The uber beautiful in a very different way, Shannyn has honed her acting skills in bevy of different genres of film, mostly indie. This with the fact that she is drop dead & can portray a character somewhere between Pfeiffer & Hathaway makes her a perfect fit for the part.

Jim Gordon:

In most incarnations of the Batman mythos, Gordon is the Police Commissioner of Batman's home of Gotham City. He shares the hero’s deep commitment to ridding the dark and corrupt city of crime. In Golden and Silver age comics and on the 1960s Batman television show, Gordon fully trusts, and is even somewhat dependent on Batman. In most modern stories, he is somewhat skeptical of Batman's vigilante method but recognizes the necessity of Batman and the two have a mutual respect and tacit friendship. Gordon's relationship with Batman as his contact in the police is comparable to the relationship between Sherlock Holmes and Inspector Lestrade. He was the husband of Barbara Kean Gordon and, after his divorce, of Sarah Essen Gordon. Gordon is also the father of James Gordon Jr. and the father or adoptive father, depending on the continuity, of Barbara Gordon, the first modern Batgirl and later Oracle and then Batgirl again.

Gordon is an important part of the Batman mythos and has appeared in most other media adaptations of the character. This has included video games, animation, and the live-action films. Gordon has been played by Lyle Talbot in the serial film Batman and Robin, Neil Hamilton in the television series Batman, Pat Hingle in the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher film series and Gary Oldman in the Christopher Nolan film series.

Mark Valley: (Human Target, Fringe)

Mark Thomas Valley is an American film and television actor, known for his role as Brad Chase on the TV drama Boston Legal, Oliver Richard on the NBC drama Harry's Law and Christopher Chance in Fox's action/drama Human Target I belive this is a good fit for the character as he is old eni=ough to portray a tough yet earnest Commissioner but if they choose to have the character be a Lt or Captain it works in the aspects of doing some earlier Batman stories.

Interesting cast, very original. I am least familiar with Jackson but think he is an intriguing choice for Batman. Tucci is perfect for Alfred, couldnt agree more!
Nice work.

Thanx guys, I am proud of my hoices, specially Bats & Catwomen.

My choices are for a reboot not TV as I can see some of these actors make the transition. Jackson definitely if directors & producers are braver. Someone like Armie Hammer is too young as we all agree that Batman is the aged, battle warn warrior. The actor who portrays that needs to fill that void & still pull off eccentric spoilt billionaire.

I have yet to cast my vilains but I do believe that moving away from the norm is the way to go, also Duhamel (formerr tv actor as well) does fit the mold too with regards to age, height & even voice, plus he would nail Bruce, but the intensity that Batman must have I can really only see a few actors channeling & Jackson is one of those
