Batman / Bruce Wayne - Powers Boothe
After seeing Powers Boothe in Red Dawn, I believe his Batman would have been an extraordinary contrast next to Christopher Reeve's Superman!
Commissioner Jim Gordon - James Garner
James Garner of The Rockford Files would have been a great Commish! He has the acting chops, stature and appropriate chin for the job. Before the 90's animated series, all of the Commissioner Gordon's sucked pretty bad (Neil Hamilton, Pat Hingle).
The Joker - Willem Dafoe
In book one, every time I turned the page to a picture of the Joker, it screamed Willem Dafoe! He was a brilliant choice for the Green Goblin and I think he would have nailed it as a younger Joker.
Harvey Dent - Patrick Swayze
The first person to come to mind when I thought of an intimidating, pretty boy from the 80's was Patrick Swayze! The Outsiders, Red Dawn or Road House. You make your pick, the man may not had much range, but he sure raked it in at the box office.
Alfred Pennyworth - Vincent Price
Although he was Egghead, a shitty villain from the Batman television series, I do believe he would transition nicely into the films as the Wayne Manor Butler. Price had a sarcastic cadence in his voice, with a smooth delivery which I think screams Alfred!
Robin / Carrie Kelly - Molly Ringwald
Molly Ringwald was America's sweetheart in the 1980's, mostly appearing in John Hughs teen movies. I think seeing her in a dark Batman flick would have been very interesting.
Commissioner Ellen Yindel - Linda Hamilton
At a point during the comic, Commissioner Gordon is replaced by Ellen Yindel, a female officer. Linda Hamilton, the original Sarah Connor of Terminator fame is the quint essential movie tough girl.
Bruno - Bridgette Neilsen
I'm pretty sure the the character Bruno was a transsexual criminal, but I think it would have been funnier and foreshadowing to make the (formerly) hot Bridgette Neilsen into a very manly figure.
Superman / Clark Kent - Christopher Reeve
I would really like to see a live action Superman / Batman team-up. Christopher Reeve (who I was named after) to me, was the best Superman ever! Even in the horrible third and fourth Superman movies.
Selina Kyle - Sally Struthers
I was having such a hard time thinking of a former hot, white girl from the 70's who sort of let herself go. I almost completely gave up until it hit me, Sally Struthers from All in the Family! If you nerds haven't watched that show, do yourself a favor and do it. It's one of the best television series of all time.
Oliver Queen - Nick Nolte
To pull off the Oliver Queen look, Nick Nolte would need a complete overhaul, making him more into an aging ex-con by attaching a white musketeer beard, dark eyebrows and a bald head. It'd be awesome!
