Captain Nova First Appearance: Secret Avengers #4
Quick Plot Overview: The opening issues display the black ops type work and being proactive about known threats and clean them up, they are in direct opposition to a group called the "Shadow Council" seemingly led by Nick Fury. In one such plot they find a dangerous artifact, the "Tentacle Crown." After some research the group finds a link to the Roxxon Corporation, which leads to investigations of a mining site on Mars. Richard Rider (Nova) is on the case, and in his investigations he finds another crown, the "Serpent Crown." The crown possesses Nova, but he is pursued by a guardian of the crown claiming to be a collective named the "Archon" who was created by the Watchers. The possessed Nova directs Shadow Council agents into unearthing a primordial evil. Steve Rogers, with the help of the Xandarian Worldmind, temporarily gains the Nova Force to take out the Serpent Crown/Nova.

Green Lantern Batman First Appearance: Green Lantern #9
Quick Plot Overview: The Tattooed Man gets a reboot in this issue as he terrorizes Gotham City. Hal and Salaak discuss Hal's ugly past and what it means for him in the eyes of the other Green Lanterns. And Hal must team up with Batman in order to stop Tattooed Man and his ink spawned devilish creations. After Tattooed Man is beaten Hal offers Bruce his ring to try and help him finally overcome his parents death. However, seeing as this tragedy was what created Batman, he returns the ring after a minute or so.

SageMode: I personally would love to see this battle, especially since these two have taken down opponents much powerful than they are, it would be interesting to see what they can do in this battle with the addition of super-powered abilities. What do yall think?

Batman would win.

Steve wouldn't be able to handle the Nova Force and would go crazy.

I'm still ticked at Brubaker for the way he handled this in Secret Avengers.

@stingerman: you know actually it was the other way around, right?

Cap would win. Since Bats uses fear to get in the heads of his enemies and fear is the opposite of willpower.. right? (Im not an expert in DC/GL comics... yet) If he had the yellow ring, that would be a different battle outcome... imo

batman fans read jla/avengers by kurt busiek & george perez.

batman actually admits that he'd lose to captain america in a fight one on one,but it would take a long to beat him.

so steve rogers with the nova force would destroy batman with a green lantern ring.

Conceivable? Cool, I guess that means 100% positive or it just means imaginable.
Batman not being able to control the ring. Oh, that happens in a Green Lantern comic. But in 8/10 other situations. Batman controls the Green Lantern ring (sometimes with other powerful weapons) with ease.
Batman is Hope and Rage and Will and Fear. He would make a perfect Lantern in any of those cases.

Captain Nova still wins :(

@Intruder: Only when the entire Nova Force is being used by one person. Before his upgrade, Nova wasn't very impressive.

sounds like this is turning into a DC vs Marvel!

@Intruder: Well, atleast IMO he wasnt. He's mostly previously well known being a member of the New Warriors. I always thought Nova had much more potential than that. And it wasnt until he got his upgrade from the Worldmind that that he did. And i've been impressed ever since
