Dardevil vs Green Arrow: How would Green Arrow's wide arsenal of arrows fair off against someone with superhuman senses? Who's the better fighter? Many questions come to mind when the thought of these two iconic superhero going head to head in battle, but would no doubt be a cool one. Who do you think would win?

As a child, Matt Murdock was blinded by radioactive waste while saving a stranger. In turn his other senses were heightened to "super human sharpness and form a radar sense". By day he is a successful defense attorney, but by night he fights crime as The Man Without Fear: Daredevil.

Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red
Powers and Abilities:
Although blind, the character's remaining four senses function with high levels of superhuman accuracy and sensitivity, giving him abilities far beyond the limits of a sighted person. Daredevil developed a radar sense. This radar sense has a function similar to echolocation. According to Stan Lee, due to the fact that Murdock's sensory organs have a superhuman level of development, his inner ear, which controls the equilibrium and motions of the body, is also preternaturally developed, aiding him in acrobatic feats that surpass even Olympic-level athletes.

When Frank Miller expanded most of Daredevil's abilities, he attempted to make them "extraordinary enough to be exciting, but not on par with Superman", noting Superman's distinctly unbelievable powers. When Miller joined the title in 1979, the first thing he did to the character was "revamp" his radar sense and made it less distinct and more believable; he wanted Daredevil to have the "proximity" sense that most martial artists claim to have. Because of this, he created an ability for Daredevil to hear the Hulk's heartbeat four blocks away. Due to the character's sensitive sense of touch, Daredevil can read by passing his fingers over the letters on a page (although laminated pages prevent him from reading the ink). Daredevil has also commonly used his superhuman hearing to serve as a lie detector for interrogation by listening for changes in a person's heartbeat. However, this ability can be fooled if the other person's heart is not beating at a natural rate, such as if they have a pacemaker.

However, just as Daredevil's other senses are stronger, they are also sensitive; his main weakness is his vulnerability to powerful sounds or odors that can be used to temporarily weaken his radar sense. This weakness is often used to immobilize Daredevil if he were bombarded by too much sound, which will cause him great pain and disorient him.Additionally Daredevil needs to detect something with his radar to know it is there or it will remain invisible to him, which makes it possible to have something get past his radar if he is unable to detect it. In one instance the hallucinogenic drug that Mysterio created was designed with no taste or smell so Daredevil could not tell he was drugged until he consulted Doctor Strange who was able to discover it from the small cross that Mysterio gave to Daredevil in disguise which contained the drug and magically cured him.

Though he has no superhuman physical attributes beyond an enhanced sense of balance, Daredevil is a master of martial arts. Having been trained by Stick, Daredevil is a master hand-to-hand combatant. His typical moves are unique blends of the martial arts of Ninjutsu, Aikijujutsu, Jujutsu, capoeira, Judo, Aikido, wrestling and stick fighting combined with American-style boxing while making full use of his gymnastics capabilities.

Daredevil's signature weapon is his specially-designed billy club, which he created. Disguised as a blind man's cane in civilian garb, it is a multi-purpose weapon and tool that contains thirty feet of aircraft control cable connected to a case-hardened steel grapnel. Internal mechanisms allow the cable to be neatly wound and unwound, while a powerful spring launches the grapnel. The handle can be straightened for use when throwing. The club can also be split into two parts, one of which is a fighting baton, the other of which ends in a curved hook.

In his civilian identity, Murdock is a skilled and respected attorney with an encyclopedic knowledge of law, especially New York statutes and is also a skilled detective and tracker and is a interrogation expert and an expert marksman.

After being pushed overboard by one of his own employees on his boat, Oliver was presumed dead and lost at sea, but had in fact washed up on an island where he was forced to learn how to hunt with a bow and arrow in order to survive. He eventually escaped from the island by overpowering some drug smugglers and handing them over to the authorities. Changed by his experiences, he decided to give something back to society, in as exciting a way as possible - becoming a crime-fighter, using his archery skills for good, taking on the moniker of Green Arrow.

Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blond
Powers and Abilities:
Oliver Queen's powers, if any, remain unknown. It has been rumored that Green Arrow may in fact be a metahuman. The Department of Extranormal Operations has a classified dossier on Queen, wherein they indicate such a possibility, but as of yet, this information has not been confirmed nor denied.

He used to own and fly his own airplane called the Arrowplane. He still has some skill in flying different types of planes. Oliver Queen is perhaps the finest archer ever known. He claims to be able to shoot 29 arrows per minute (he stated this himself, in the Sound of Violence story arc, when he corrected Black Canary for saying 26). He has a wide-variety of trick arrows, ranging from bola arrows to time-bomb arrows to his infamous boxing-glove arrow. In recent years he has used these arrows sparingly, preferring the time-tested simple arrow. Green Arrow has shown the ability to shoot an arrow down the barrel of a gun, pierce a drop of water as it leaves a tap, and shoot almost any part of the human body; although he aims only to wound and not kill when he shoots. He once shot two arrows down two different gun barrels while upside down, in mid-flip while somersaulting off a building. He is proficient in several forms of hand-to-hand combat including Judo, Kickboxing and Karate. Proclaimed as a martial arts master, he has shown the ability to take on seven people at once. He spent several months dedicated to making himself a better fighter and trained with many of the world's finest martial arts teachers and even went through training from Natas, the same person who trained Deathstroke. Ollie is also very proficient with a sword, though it is not his preferred weapon of choice. He has beaten Jason Todd in a sword-fight and has deflected an incoming arrow with the sword he carries. He has displayed on many occasions that he is an expert in acrobatics, and often uses this skill while evading enemy fire.

Daredevil. As far as I'm concerned, no question. Oliver's good, but Matt's spent years proving his senses make him the perfect person (next to Spider-man) for dodging projectiles, which sort of makes Green Arrow's main "thing" a bit of a wash. In plain h2h, the Devil's got the tactile sense on his side.

Daredevil started since before he was a teen, he learned how to shoot, and dodge arrows with flawless accuracy as a BLIND, KID. Oliver started in his 20's at the earliest.

Daredevil's trained himself to this point to where now he can effectively dodge bullet fire, arrows will be no different.

Daredevil is just too much for GA.

@overtappeal:

You do know that Daredevil defeated Hawkeye before even with his assorted arrows, right?
DDD
DDD - 12/25/2011, 10:59 AM
I gotta go with DD.

His radar and training from a child makes
him the MAN WITHOUT FEAR.....far superior to
GA who's only a regular guy in a suit.

Of course if you say that GA has some kind
of inborn gift for accuracy then he's some
kind of mutant and is super-powered too.

And of course, I'm a MARVEL MAN so I HEVE
to go with THE DEVIL!

MERRY CHRISTMAS BvsW@!

@overtappeal

"@0SageMode0,

And GA has probably defeated a bunch of DD-type heroes, too, what's your point? In their comic book life, I'm sure both guys have beaten bigger and more powerful heroes than either GA or DD, that's really not the issue. Heck, the PUNISHER has defeated a bunch of superpowered heroes and villains in his years. You expect that type of stuff when it's their comic book. I suspect Hawkeye would have beaten DD too if it was a Hawkeye comic.

My original point still stands: if GA knows DD's secret, he could beat him pretty easily.
"

But you were saying as if Daredevil hasnt gone up against guys that are comparable to Green Arrow (which in the Marvel Universe would be pretty much Hawkeye who has trick arrows himself).

And can you name some of those guys that Green Arrow has defeated solo?

Hawkeye is much better at what he does than Green Arrow and Daredevil beat HIM. This should be absolutely no contest. Daredevil gets the W here.

Daredevil for the win.
@overtappeal
if GA knows DD is blind, it doesn't change the fact that DD has no problem taking on precision based advisories...just go ask Bullseye. GA doesn't have the fighting background that DD has. GA is a fighter, but to a limit. Yea GA had great training (same trainer that Deathstroke had, badass named Natas) but that doesn't hold a candle to Stick who's trained DD from a young age (and don't forget the light fisticuffs training he got from his pops).

long story short..Daredevil wins.

So what you guys arr saying is Daredevil can take Deathstroke as well? I'm sure GA has an arrow in that quiver that emits sound in a high frequency that would distort Daredevil. If so GA takes this, once the arrow is shot he'll get in and take him out, but if not Daredevil might take it.

@Redhood2k10
making the argument that because DD can take Deathstroke if he can take GA doesn't really work well. Deathstroke fights dirty...everytime..all the time. DD would take GA because even with GA knowing his weakness (which has been used against him multiple times mid fight) it doesn't negate the fact that DD would still have the upper hand in the fighting department.

Is it an absolute that DD will beat GA..no. know match up is ever absolute, but I would call it 8/10 for DD.

daredevil....wins hands down ...just on his powers alone .....green arrow, bullseye, hawkeye, are all pretty much same types of characters....and daredevil is gonnna dodge everything and get in close and take him out ...if he uses a hypothectical arrow that admits sound waves ....then all daredevil has to do is run from it and re group ...he is much faster then green arrow and he could avoid it ....he sees the waves before they hit him anyways ....daredevil wins ....sorry green arrow
