Could James Cameron's New Technology be used in Captain America?

Could James Cameron's New Technology be used in Captain America?

Before you get excited, this is not a news report. This is just an iea of mine.

In the article, Cameron Talks About The Future of New CGI Technology, he stated that with his new technology used on Avatar, an older actor could portray a young CGI version of themselves.

The president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, stated that they would like to cast a well known actor to portray Steve Rogers aka Captain America. Though the chracter is in his late teens, and there arn't many actors around that either looks young enough, or actually is young enough to be considered a known actor, compared to Robert Downey Jr at least. I think you know what I'm getting at.

Would you guys accept James Cameron's technology used on an older known actor in The First Avenger: Captain America. And no it won't be like Terminator Salvation with Arnold. That tech isn't as perfect as James's tech. ????

No, it's not needed, and would cost a lot of money.

You're correct there Lee. Worthington's so robotic and unemotional that he has to be a machine ;)

I kid, I kid :)

Back on topic, I would have loved for Brad Pitt to be Captain America back in the day, he would have rocked it. I just wouldn't want to use such expensive technology, especially when the Avengers budget is probably going to be pretty hefty.

@Leee haha though it is strange how he was in both films that involved the tech.

@MovieTheaterLad: Why can't the actor be australian? it's called acting for a reason!

Im sorry but the actor should be American. I know it may seem crazy like how Mickey Rourke is playing a Russian, but no. The man's name is Captain America, and he is the lead character. It just won't seem right casting anyone that isn't American. Think about if they made a Captain Britain movie, but wanted to hire an American. Doesn't sound to right does it.

They should cast an American. He has America in his freaking name, and represents every American value we hold. His costume is a literal representation of the American flag for God's sake!

But, if the actor is foreign, yet looks American and sounds American, then it isn't so bad. But Worthington does neither.

marvelfreshman@ like how downey jr played sherlock?

i'd like to see them possibly mix together what JC did on avatar with the effects on 'the curious case of benjamin button'. just for the opening. i don't think they need to cast a guy in his 20's they just need to use CGI to make steve look weak and scrawny in the beginning. like in the first spider-man movie.

and i don't care if the damn actor is german. as long as he can pull off the attitude and personality of captain america.

i do not want to watch a captain america movie if he is a teen in the whole film. he needs to be around thirty.

Hugh Jackman is from Austrialia. Ryan Reynolds is from Canada and Christian Bale is from Wales. We might as well outsource Captain America.

Yeah, we need an American to play Cap.Imagine the uproar the Brits would kick up if an American played James Bond.Does anyone remember the controversy around Renee Zellweger playing Bridget Jones?

"Hugh Jackman is from Austrialia. Ryan Reynolds is from Canada and Christian Bale is from Wales. We might as well outsource Captain America. "

That's true, but those characters aren't supposed to represent America like Cap.

MovieLad and Bleedfreak@ no offense, seriosuly. but sora has a point. it's entertainment, we all know the guy in the COSTUME thats ACTING isn't really protecting america. he's not the REAL captain america. it's fake. IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT PLANET the actor is from. all that matters is if he can ACT like captain america. im not of the worthington camp, i've yet to seen him in a movie so i can't say one way or the other on him. in fact both my picks (pitt and damon) are american. but if marvel chooses to cast someone who's not american i will have the most confidence in the world in that actor because marvel chose him for a reason.

2006 - Forrest Whitaker wins an oscar for playing the last king of scottland
2007 - Daniel Day Lewis wins an oscar for playing an american oil man at the turn of the 20th centruy.

so again it doesn't matter what country he is from, you can argue all you want, in the big grand scheme of things it doesn't.
if they cast a brit or an aussie will that stop you from seeing the movie? have fun at home. i'll be there opening night.

hawks@ oh man here we go again! your solution solved NOTHING! lol
