Just lately, I started thinking about the Old West Ghost Rider in the Ghost
Rider movie, played by Sam Elliott, “CARETAKER”.
In my estimation the GHOST RIDER movie was not all it could have been but I did
enjoy it anyway! But Sam was outstanding in it! It was kick-butt when CARETAKER
(the old west GR) was riding on his blazing horse besides GR on his flaming
motorcycle!
Then I thought what if the Old West GR found himself thrown together with other
western characters from MARVEL like GUNHAWK and RENO JONES (PHANTOM RIDER). So
I chose those three and added Pinkerton CALEB HAMMER and a creation of my own
for a character of the female persuasion...her name is WIND WOLF. She's a half
Irish/half Cheyenne shaman-woman who can summon the spirit of her dead Cheyenne
warrior-husband to give her immense strength and stamina when she must fight a
foe beyond her own rather formidable strength & fighting skills.

THE STORY:
GRAVEROCK, Montana a is sleepy little Old West town. Not much goes on there but
an ill-wind blows their way. The Demon SHADRON has found it has become the
center of a spiritual vortex where he can come through from the other side.
Graverock has reached just the right inter-dimensional vibration that the demon
world and the human universe overlap. Demons can more than just possess people,
they can actually fuse with humans and change their appearance so that they
look more like the demon visage...human demons on earth!
SHADRON is conspiring to transform all the humans of the earth into fused
demon/humans, which he has given the title, “HELL-HUMANS. He wants to take
control of the planet earth and eventually challenge even LUCIFER himself!
His plan is to make every human his Hell-humans...to create...
“HELL ON EARTH”!
In rides the gunslinger GUNHAWK and his partner, RENO JONES (who has secretly
taken on the persona of the, “PHANTOM RIDER”), just when the fun is
beginning. GUNHAWK telegraphs his friend, Pinkerton Agent, CALEB HAMMER, to
come and see what he can make of-- “...the strange deadly goings-on around this
town!”.
While Gunhawk is sitting at the bar at the “WILD STALLION” saloon in walks a
gunman calling himself, “CARETAKER...just CARETAKER!” and gets a drink. GUNHAWK
ponders to himself about this “quite peculiar” stranger...
Meanwhile HAMMER, on his way to GRAVEROCK, finds a half-breed Cheyenne woman,
dressed in a fringed brown leather vest and rust-colored men's pants, being
accosted by some surly cowpokes, in the street of a small-town, and stops them.
Suddenly the cowpunchers attack him with gun-butts and flying fists. The
Cheyenne woman quickly goes into action with two native hunting knives as CALEB
skillfully fights his way through the other cussed cowhands.
With her twin knife-butts she swiftly takes out the cattle-hands that Caleb
doesn't. Hammer shows them his badge and states, “I'm CALEB HAMMER, I'm with
the Pinkertons and by all rights I have the justification to haul you punchers
in but I will just tell you, get the hell back to your ranch and stop hasslin'
defenseless women!”
“Who you callin' defenseless, sir! I can take care of myself!”, she retorts. “I
meant no offense ma'am, just chewin' those no-accounts a new back-side! She
tells him that her name is, WIND WOLF, and she will go with him because this
town has not been “especially friendly” to someone of her kind! Thus she
travels with him to GRAVEROCK...
...Gunhawk leaves the saloon and heads back to the hotel and RENO JONES meets
up with him on the way to their rooms.
“Yep Reno,” GUNSMITH declares to Jones, “A wicked wind is headin' this way and
something devilish is blowin' in!”
