The following is what I've gathered will happen in TDKR, but please correct me if I'm wrong in the comments! I decided to tell it in a story form, because that would make it more engaging for the reader. Enjoy!
The beginning: The League of Shadows will visit a small village in the mountains and raid it for supplies, burning it down in the process. Rising out of the flames, is a small child not affected by the intense heat. They discover that the child feels nothing, and a young Ras al Ghul decides to take him under his wing and train him as the perfect soldier. He treated him like a son, and even went as far as to say that he was his real son, oppsoed to his actual daughter Talia. So he decided to name him Bane and told him all his life that he was his son and Talia was his sister, but when Bane was 13 the LOS raided a small island in the caribbean called Santa Prisca, but Bane was caught by the police there and locked up in prison, whilst Ras along with the league fled back to their home in the mountains. Bane spent the next 7 years in prison, training harder than ever before, and became knows as the King. When he was finally released, Bane quickly went back to the mountains to discoveer that Ras had gone to Gotham City, and had been kileld there by a masked vigilante who calls himself the Batman. Talia had already fled to Gotham to kill Batman's alter ego, Bruce Wayne boss of Wayne Enterprises and well-known humanitarian and billionaire. The LOS used many drugs, one such drug was Venom, which can make you have superhuman strength. Bane took an overdoes of that, so much that he had to make himself a Venom mask with tubes running from a canister on his back up to his mouth. He left the mountains to flollow Talia to Gotham.
The beginning part 2: Bruce Wayne has ceased being Batman. Batman is a wanted criminal in Gotham, and Crime s at it's highest level yet. Bruce's life is back to normal and has more time for social things. Many batman wannabes have stepped up and tried to take the role, but have been killed in action. But one wannabe calls herself Catwoman and currently protects the city. The Joker was killed by Catwoman. Gordon has hired a new sidekick, John Blake and are trying to protect the city, but Catwoman keeps on getting in their way. She is a more violent hero than Batman, and often kills her oponents. A new member has arrived on the Wayne Enterprises board, Miranda Tate. Bruce Wayne's current girlfriend is a hairdresser called Selina Kyle, who is secretly Catwoman. Soon enough, she tells Bruce her secret and he breaks up with her. So she becomes an anti-hero in Gotham City, and wants to kill Bruce Wayne. He slowly becomes attracted to Miranda who is actully Talia in disguise... Bane has arrived in Gotham and is working with Talia to bring Bruce down by hurting his loved ones. He sends out a viral message telling Gotham that if the Batman does not return and fight him, then he would slowly start to kill his loved ones. Bruce starts going out with Miranda, and pays no attention to Bane. He wishes he did. Bane vivits Commissioner Gordon and tries to kill him. John Blake and other police officers fight back and manage to get him to leave, but Gordon is severely injured and needs to go to hospital. Bruce visits him there as Bruce and when he is there he puts on the Batman mask, so that Gordon knows he is Batman before he might die. The scene from the trailer follows and at the end, John Blake enters, sees Batman and a scuffle ensues, which leads to him leaving out the window, which is what the filming pics of somebody climbing out of a skyscraper window were about. As Miranda is developing deeper feelings for Bruce, he trusts her more than he ever trusted Selina or Rachel so tells her that he is Batman but this comes as no shock to her as she already knows. She starts to think that her father should have died as he had become insane and wanted to control everything. She forgives Bruce and severs her connection with Bane. This angers him very much and he thinks that the plan is falling apart. Bane sends out another viral message stating that a loved one of Batman will be killed that night. Bane then visits Wanye Tower and kills Lucius Fox. Bruce is distraught and Talia feels that she can never reveal her true identity to Bruce as he would never be able to trust her again and would fire her.
The big twist!: He decides that he must prepare to fight Bane by bring out the Batmobile that Lucius designed years ago and the new Batpod. Mirands felt that she couldn't let Bruce fight Bane because she knew he would kill him, or hurt him worse than he hurt Gordon. So she stops him going out by seducing him in Miranda's flat. Bane infiltrates Wayne Manor that night, kidnaps Alfred and ties him up in the Batcave where he is awaiting Bruce's return. When Bruce returns home, he finds Bane in the Batcave. He chases Bruce around Wayne Manor, destroying alot of it in the process. Bruce gets a gun in a glass case off of the wall and shot Bane, temporarily injuring him. He races to the Batcave to get the Bat-suit on and release Alfred. He tells him to go and stay away from Bane and get the police. But Alfred refuses because then the city would know who he really was. Bane then comes around and returns to the Batcave to kill Batman. Alfred is tied back up and forced to watch the boy that he had raised's demise. Batman is bloodied and beaten. Just as he thought it was over, Bane grabs him, puts him over his knee and breaks his back. Bane then tells him why he was doing all of this. He unties Alfred and leaves the Batcave.
The middle: Bruce is left in a wheelchair, and Gordon is still in hospital. John Blake has taken up the role of Commissioner in Gotham, and is protecting the city alongside Catwoman. The city has sunk to it's lowest, as Bane confirms Batman's identity and that he has taken control of the city. Back in the mountains, the LOS are developing a machine that will destroy Gotham forever and devising a plan to control it forever... 3 months later, Talia decides to tell Bruce her identity. After discovering it, he breaks up with her but she doesn't go back to Bane. The LOS are returning to a series of pits that they haven't visited for hundreds of years, the Lazuras pits. They contain a green substance that kills the ageing cells in the body and means a person can live for hundreds of years, which is how Ras al Ghul managed to live for centuries but faced his downfall at the hands of the caped crusader. The LOS recovered his damaged body and intended to dip him into the pit to resurrect him. They drop him in the pit and do a traditional chant. (the chanting in the trailers was arabic for 'he rises, he rises!') Ras al Ghul has been resurrected. The machine they were building was an earthquake machine, which they put in the ground and it would create tremors that could hit Gotham! They then made their journey across the sky to Gotham City.
The big finale!: The LOS dropped the earthquake machine from their plane into the ocean, as it turns on to create a 7.9 magnitude earthquake, coming from the comic 'No Man's Land'. Since Talia is now on Gotham's side, she warns them about the upcoming attack. They fire a rocket launcher at the plane Talia guessed the resurrected Ras was in. Part of her wanted him gone for good because of all the evil things he had done, but another part of her wanted to keep him alive as he was her father. The planes fly into each other and crash onto a runway. 6 months has passed since Bane broke Bruce's back, and gotham has to accept who he is so that he can rise up and stop the LOS, since his back has mended now. Himself, Catwoman, John and Talia form a team to stop Ras, whilst Gordon is still in a hospital bed. The LOS are winning the battle, and Batman knows that this is his last hour so he goes to a broken Wayne Tower to spend his final moments. Ras al Ghul is waiting for him there, so they have a big fight. Ras is telling Bruce about he played him from the start, and this makes him so angry that he stabs Ras. Then a LOS plane, on fire crashes into the building, and it collapses with Ras's body crushed along with it. Batman jumps down, trying to find somewhere safe to land, and he throws a battarang up to the plane and is dragged up to it. It survives the fall of Wayne Tower and crashes to the ground, with Batman riding it and below it is Bane battling Catwoman with Talia helping. He shakes off Catwoman and tells Talia that he always loved her. John Blake is lying on the floor dead, after Bane broke his neck. Bane looks up and sees the crashing plane, and quickly pushes Talia out of the way, as the plane crushes him. Batman got off of the plane, and quickly picked up and threw away pieces of burning metal and rubble to find Bane's body. Batman picks up a piece of wing and finds his head. He tells him whilst choking that wishes he never set foot in Gotham City, as it brought the downfall of him and that Batman was a worthy opponent. He then coughs up a large quantity of blood, and dies. After the death of their leader and deputy, and that the next-in-line had left their side, the LOS were defeated and the remainder of them left Gotham and retreated back into the mountains.
I think that Gordon will be left permanently in a wheelchair so he has to resign as Comissioner. Bruce realises that the Batman is a legend that anybody can take up the role of and Batman will always be the protector of Gotham, whether he is present or not.
