FAN CAST: JLA Earth 2 The Movie By LEEE777

JLA: Earth 2 is a DC comic written by Grant Morrison with art by Frank Quitely...It follows the first post-Crisis encounter between the Justice League of America and their evil counterparts from an antimatter universe, the Crime Syndicate of Amerika. Note, this takes place many years after the formation of the JLA, so no teenie bopping boy band castings here, enjoy...

Alexander Luthor, the lone hero from the Antimatter universe, breaks the barrier between Earths 1 and 2, seeking the JLA's help. He kidnaps and takes the place of his evil positive-matter counterpart. Meanwhile, the JLA investigate a plane crash where all the (dead) passengers have hearts on the right side of their bodies, and money bearing the slogan "In Mammon We Trust" and the face of Benedict Arnold. This leads them to Alexander Luthor, who informs them of the other Earth and asks for 48 hours of their time to help the oppressed world. The JLA, excepting Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter, follow Luthor to the alternate Earth.

The Crime Syndicate are introduced. Each is an evil counterpart of a JLA member. Ultraman calls a meeting, discovers Luthor's absence, and begins plotting to take over the positive matter universe, while Power Ring and Johnny Quick discuss the possibility of counterparts to themselves.

Owlman correctly concludes that 24 hours after the JLA appeared on the antimatter Earth, the CSA will be transported to the positive-matter Earth in order to correct a dimensional equilibrium. When this occurs, the CSA attack the White House and destroy much of Washington DC, then are easily subdued by Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter, who take down the most powerful CSA members with startling ease.

Meanwhile, the JLA's attempts to reform the antimatter Earth unravel quickly; the "opposite" nature of this world means that evil and corruption are the natural order of things and any attempt to improve the society is doomed to failure. This is also why the CSA fell so easily to Aquaman and Martian Manhunter; justice is destined to prevail on the positive-matter Earth.

It is revealed that Luthor has been manipulated by Ultraman's servant, the antimatter Brainiac. Luthor's actions in bringing the two Earths into contact will unintentionally result in the two Earths merging into the same space and destroying each other, with the JLA and CSA being powerless to stop it due to their being on Earths where they, by the nature of the respective universes, cannot win. Brainiac anticipated this and has prepared himself to collect the energy released by the destroyed Earths, evolving into an "Nth Level Intelligence" and essentially becoming a god.

Attempting to stop the collision, Superman discovers that this Brainiac is a biological organism; Superman's code against killing prevents him from harming Brainiac. Convinced now that only evil could win on the antimatter Earth, Superman and Wonder Woman refrain from trying to defeat Brainiac themselves. Flash switches the teams back to their respective Earths. Upon arrival, a vengeful Ultraman gives Brainiac a laser-vision lobotomy to ensure that he never poses a threat again. The two Earths return to their own spaces, and each team ponders their counterparts on the other side of the dimensional barrier.

Right now onto the casting for JLA EARTH 2!

JLA

Michael Trusso as Superman:

The original story of Superman relates that he was born Kal-El on the planet Krypton, before being rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father Jor-El, moments before Krypton's destruction. Discovered and adopted by a Kansas farmer and his wife, the child is raised as Clark Kent and imbued with a strong moral compass. Very early he started to display superhuman abilities. Upon reaching maturity he resolved to use said abilities for the benefit of humanity.

While referred to less than flatteringly as "the big blue Boy Scout" by some of his fellow superheroes, Superman is hailed as "The Man of Steel," "The Man of Tomorrow," and "The Last Son of Krypton" by the general public. As Clark Kent, Superman lives among humans as a "mild-mannered reporter" for the Metropolis newspaper Daily Planet (Daily Star in the earliest stories). There he works alongside reporter Lois Lane, with whom he is romantically linked.

Michael Trucco best know to most as Samuel Anders in Battlestar Galactica is and excellent actor and has that huge Superman look and acting style and at 6'3" this guy is easily a serious contender for the Superman role, remember, this isn't origin Superman here, JLA Earth 2 starts off many many years later. Anyway a cape and glasses and this guy with get you flying.

Tahmoh Penikett as The Batman:

Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Having witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, he swore revenge on crime, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. Bruce trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in Gotham City and is part of the Justice League in the DC universe.

Tahmoh Penikett is a big guy, a type of guy thats not only right for a character like Bruce Wayne/Batman but if you saw him, you know he could easily look after himself, not like some of these model (slash) actor types lol. Good actor and pretty scary too, got that insane thing about him which works well with the mind of Bruce Wayne as well as the brains and brawn. Next movie up for Tahmoh is Jabberwocky out 2011.

Erin Cummings as Wonder Woman:

Wonder Woman is a member of an all-female tribe of Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology), created by Marston as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to 'a world torn by the hatred of men.'" Her powers include super strength, super speed, stamina, and flight. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Magic Lasso (which forces those bound by it to tell the truth), and a pair of indestructible bracelets.

All versions of Diana depict her as a masterful athlete, acrobat, fighter and strategist, trained and experienced in many ancient and modern forms of armed and unarmed combat, including exclusively Amazonian martial arts. In some versions, her mother trained her, as Wonder Girl, for a future career as Wonder Woman. From the beginning, she is portrayed as highly skilled in using her Amazon bracelets to stop bullets and in wielding her golden lasso. She is a superior warrior who has beaten Batman, Big Barda, and Black Canary in sparring matches. The modern version of the character differs from her compatriots in that she is willing to use deadly force when she deems it necessary.

Okay, the funny thing is I've cast many Wonder Women (Jodi Lynn O'Keefe, Lucy Griffiths, Taylor Cole, Susan Ward) but my favorite, I was and have been waiting to do a Wonder Woman casting but these things take so long, by the time I do one the show/movie will probably be out lol. This casting here I've kinda been hanging onto since very early in the year. Anyway my favorite is Erin Cummings, she blows me away in the stuff I've seen her in and shes a tough chick too, one that you could believe could actually beat up a guy or bunch of guys easy and has the moves too. Well shes great on the show Spartacus: Blood and Sand playing Sura (got a great bod too for the role which helps). She played a great role in the HBO show Mad Men as well and also is in the show Detroit 1-8-7, yup she truly is the amazon princess!

Milo Ventimiglia as Kyle Rayner:

Kyle Rayner is a struggling freelance artist when he is approached by the last Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet, to become a new Green Lantern with the last power ring. Ganthet's reasons for choosing Rayner remained a secret for quite some time. Despite not being cut from the same cloth of bravery and fearlessness as Hal Jordan — or perhaps because of that — Rayner proved to be popular with readers and his fellow characters. Having continually proven himself on his own and with the JLA, he became known amongst the Oans as The Torch Bearer. He briefly operated as Ion after using the power of the entire Green Lantern Corps.

Got to admit again, I still really do like Milo from Heroes as this part a huge lot and its only seeing him as Nightwing I've kept from casting him like I told you before, anyway Milo would steal this part, just check out his acting ability as Peter in Heroes to see that he lives and breaths Kyle Rayner, also first time I saw this talent ac tors work was in Rocky (new one), all I can say is Green Lanterns Light!

Ryan Kwanten as Wally West (The Flash III):

During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Barry gave his life to save the earth. Initially unaware of this, Wally was coaxed by Jay Garrick into assisting the heroes against the Anti-Monitor's forces. During the final battle with the Anti-Monitor, Wally was struck by a blast of anti-matter energy, which put his disease into remission. In the aftermath of the conflict, Wally took on his fallen mentor's costume and identity.

Wally West became a less powerful new Flash than his predecessor. For example, instead of being able to reach the speed of light, he can run just faster than that of sound. Also, the character has to eat vast quantities of food to maintain his metabolism.

Those changes were quickly followed up the Flash's superhero exploits, and the state of Wally's wealth. West won a lottery, bought a large mansion, and became something of a playboy. The character's finances and luck continued to ebb and wane until Flash (vol. 2) #62, when his playboy ways ended and his fortunes stabilized.

Ryan Kwanten, well all you've got to do is watch True Blood to see Wally West is right there in all his glory. No actor could ever play Wally like Kwanten, he lives and breaths Wally West, no only would own this character as much, he's got enough character to turn this Flash into a franchise all by itself and hopefully will.

Kevin McKidd as Aquaman:

While awaiting transport to Miami, Florida, a young man named Arthur Joseph Curry is washed out to sea when a storm ruptures the tank he is in. This Arthur Curry, whose origin closely resembles that of the Golden Age Aquaman as well as that of Neptune Perkins, is the son of oceanobiologist Dr. Phillip Curry. Arthur's mother, Elaine, died in childbirth and Dr. Curry was forced to use a mutagenic serum on his son when he was born three months premature. Arthur has lived his whole life in the main tank of his father's research facility at Avalon Cay, his only window to the outside world being television.

Shortly after his arrival in the sea, Arthur is mentally contacted by the mysterious "Dweller of the Depths," a deformed humanoid with tentacles instead of hair and a left hand made of water. The Dweller urges him to help King Shark, who still bears scars from a previous battle with Aquaman during the recent Crisis. The Dweller, confusing Arthur for Aquaman and calling him his "charge," tells Arthur and King Shark of a prophecy regarding Arthur's future, a prophecy which seems to be a distorted version of the original Aquaman's history. The Dweller reveals that the original Aquaman was "transformed into one akin to a great and terrible enemy of your people and became the vessel of power strange, ancient and terrible."

Arthur's first trip causes him to meet many of Aquaman's supporting characters including Mera, the Sea Devils, Vulko, and eventually Ocean Master. During this adventure, the Dweller progressively realizes that he himself is the original Aquaman, despite having no memory of his former life.

Kevin McKidd is my movie Aquaman, CBM Username: Frogman showed me the way with Kevin McKidd as Aquaman. What can I say, amazing actor that would own the role of Arthur Curry like he owns everything he's in, be it his shows Journeyman or Greys or any of his movies, funny thing is, Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, he play a god like character pretty much like Aquaman, trident an all, good going Frogman, touch... oh and by the way, years later league, not origin, keep in mind.

Jon Hamm (actor) & Dennis Haysbert (voice over) as Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz/John Jones):

The character is a green-skinned extraterrestrial humanoid from the planet Mars, — "Ma'aleca'andra" in his native tongue, who is pulled to earth by an experimental teleportation beam (originally presented as an attempted communication device) constructed by Dr. Erdel. The shock of the encounter kills Dr. Erdel and leaves J'onn with no method of returning home. The character decides to fight crime while waiting for Martian technology to advance to a stage that will enable his rescue. To that end, he adopts the identity of John Jones, a detective in the fictional Apex City (later retconned as Chicago).

Dennis Haysbert easily steals the voice part, so when J'onn turns into all CGI on the big screen it wont be Hamm but Haysbert doing that original and unearthly voice for the character. Human side, Hamm easy, just check out when J'onn is in human form, its not Smallville lol, Jon Hamm is John Jones!

Viggo Mortensen as Alexander Lex Luthor:

Lex Luthor is the archenemy of Superman. The character was originally depicted as a mad scientist who in the vein of pulp novels, wreaks havoc on the world with his futuristic weaponry. In his earliest appearances, Luthor is shown with a full head of red hair. Despite this, the character later became hairless as the result of an artist's mistake.

But as this is the Earth 2 Alexander Luthor, the lone hero from the Antimatter universe, things are different and mirrored. He breaks the barrier between Earths 1 and 2, seeking the JLA's help.

Yup I've kinda pimped Viggo to death as Lex lol, awesome actor and if you don't believe me watch such movies as History of Violence or The Road etc. He put his heart and soul in every role he takes and we'd be beyond lucky to get an actor of his caliber play Luthor on the big screen!

CSA

Joe Manganiello as Ultraman:

Born as the son of Jur-Ll (versus Superman's father, Jor-El) in the Pre-Crisis reality termed "Earth-Three", Ultraman was the Kryptonian who grew up on the reversed Earth of that reality, and later as an adult became a member of the criminal organization the Crime Syndicate of America.(Justice League of America (Vol #1) #29)} Unlike Superman, the Earth-Three Ultraman gets stronger every time he is exposed to kryptonite, originally developing a completely new superpower with each new exposure. In one such encounter, Ultraman acquired the ability to see through dimensional barriers, thus alerting the Crime Syndicate to the existence of alternate Earths in their first appearance. This allowed the Syndicate to attack the Justice League and Justice Society. Ultraman also differed from Superman in that his version of Krypton had not exploded. Where the Earth-Three dimension Kryptonite came from.

Joe Manganiello from True Blood, good actor, and would be a fantastic Ultraman. I dunno for Superman but he'd own in this role, tall fella too, just like Trucco, you can believe when these two clash is Superman vs Superman! Man why doesn't WB make JLA already lol.

Dominic West as Owlman

Thomas Wayne Junior: The Owlman character was revived (along with his teammates) in the late 1990s for modern DC continuity in the graphic novel JLA: Earth 2. This Owlman was developed to be reflective of the modern readers with a far darker attitude and background than either of the two previous teams. On antimatter Earth, Owlman was now Thomas Wayne, Jr. the older brother of that reality's Bruce Wayne. In most mainstream DC universes, Batman's genesis occurred when young Bruce Wayne was witness to the murder of his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, and was inspired to devote his life to fighting crime.

In the antimatter universe, however, young Bruce was killed along with his mother by a policeman when Thomas Sr. refused to accompany him for questioning. Thomas Jr. escaped the crime scene with the hoodlum Joe Chill, whom he considered his hero, and grew up to become Owlman. Equipping himself with a utility belt containing technology and weapons similar to those used by Batman along with possessing a drug-enhanced high intellect (devoted to crime rather than serving the law), Owlman became a master criminal and an ally to Boss Gordon (the antimatter Earth's version of James Gordon).

Dominic West, big guy too and an English actor, I also don't blame him for that awful Punisher Warzone movie, that was beyond any actor to save. Man, he'd bring the depth and heart or cold heart should I say to the Owlman character easy.

Michelle Monaghan as Superwoman (Lois Lane):

In Post-Crisis continuity, as established in the 1998 graphic novel JLA: Earth 2 by Grant Morrison, Superwoman (and the rest of the Crime Syndicate) comes from a parallel world similar to Earth, but located in an antimatter universe (also home to the planet Qward).

Superwoman continues to make occasional appearances as a member of the Crime Syndicate, most recently appearing in storylines in the Justice League and Superman comics. Unlike her pre-Crisis counterpart, her magic lasso doesn't change shape, but releases the inhibitions of anyone tied with it (just as Wonder Woman's compels victims to tell the truth). She also possesses heat vision, as Superman and Ultraman do.

Taking the alias Lois Lane, Superwoman is an Amazon by birth, and has risen through the ranks to become the chief editor of the Daily Planet in what she calls "Patriarch's World". This disguise resembles Wonder Woman's secret identity of Diana Prince. At the Planet, Superwoman is shown to upset her colleagues; the antimatter-Cat Grant refers to Superwoman as "Queen Bitch", and negatively alludes to her "friendship" with the antimatter Jimmy Olsen.
Jimmy Olsen is the only civilian who knows of Superwoman's secret identity. A compliant sexual deviant, he does what she tells him in exchange for the favour of watching when she changes her outfit and receiving pieces of it for his "disguise kit". He is so besotted that he ignores her gibes and insults, even when she tauntingly refers to him as, "Superwoman's Snitch, Jimmy Olsen," and prints it in the Planet.

Also in the Earth 2 story, her lover Ultraman hates Superwoman's frigidity towards him. Meanwhile, she is carrying on a torrid affair with Owlman, and they sneak trysts whenever they feel Ultraman is not watching. However, from his floating fortress (the antimatter counterpart to the Fortress of Solitude), Ultraman doesn't hesitate to fire warning bursts of heat vision towards them whenever he catches them together.

Yes its Lois Lane, and as I have Michelle Monaghan as Ms Lane, only makes sense to have her in this. The actress can play anything, and this will be a breeze, she can play evil too no problem, its about time Michelle got a cbm role and this is it.

Sean William Scott as Power Ring:

Little is known of Power Ring's history. From what little he has said on the matter, he had been given his magical power ring and power battery by a monk named Volthoom. With these weapons, he equaled the power of a Green Lantern.
When they first arrived on Earth-One, they attempted to destroy first the Justice League and later the Justice Society of America of Earth-Two. The Syndicate was defeated and imprisoned in an inter-dimensional limbo by Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

The members of the Crime Syndicate were believed killed during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Power Ring and the Crime Syndicate were destroyed by waves of anti-matter, unleashed by the Anti-Monitor in his attempt to control all of existence.

Years afterwards, a strange disruption in reality (featured in Animal Man by Grant Morrison) brought back Power Ring and co.

Eventually, the Crime Syndicate were re-imagined as being from the antimatter universe. This Power Ring, weak-willed and cowardly, had been tricked into accepting the ring from its previous owner. After invading the other universe, Power Ring is defeated by Aquaman.

Seann can play this asshole character no problem, right up his street, damn could you imagine if he ever met Hal (Reynolds) on the big screen as this character, holy, now that would be [frick]ing something. I'm sure everyone knows most of this actors stuff so all I can say is hell yeah for Power Ring!

Btw, had to use animated pics as couldn't find the comic book version of him on the net, so he's dirty blonde anyways just like Seann and heck SEann plays more than just comedy, talented actor.

Bradley Cooper as Johnny Quick:

Crime Syndicate of America, Johnny Quick was a supervillain on the alternate Earth designated as Earth-Three, but rather than being a counterpart of the Earth-Two Johnny Quick, he was a version of The Flash. He and the other members of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika (all of whom were villainous counterparts of Justice League of America members) were Earth-Three's only superpowered beings, and had never been defeated by Earth-Three's primary hero, Alexander Luthor (a heroic counterpart to Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor). Like the rest of the Crime Syndicate, he perished during the Crisis at the hands of the Anti-Monitor.

The character was revived in the 1990s as a villain from the "Anti-Matter Universe", rather than being from Earth-Three. Unlike the Flash, Johnny receives his powers by injecting himself with a drug called "Speed Juice" (Whether this is a variation of the super-speed inducing drug "Velocity 9" from the regular Flash's Earth is not known). This Johnny Quick is the counterpart of the Wally West Flash. According to Grant Morrison, who created this version of the character, he had a predecessor (corresponding to Barry Allen), whose blood was used to create the Speed Juice. A flashback to the early days of the Crime Syndicate showed this character as resembling the Pre-Crisis version.[1] While Quick is part of that Earth's "Ruling Elite", he is hopelessly addicted to "Speed Juice" and goes into massive physical withdrawal without it. As part of the Tribute the world's leaders present the Crime Syndicate with on a regular basis, they supply Quick with fresh supplies of his drug, sometimes altered to be more euphoric.

Well he's deff no Barry as he's the perfect Guy Gardner but I made an exception here as all these guys come from another universe and I think Cooper would make this nasty piece of work truly something on screen. Watch out for Hangover 2 next year.

President Wilson:

Slade is a parallel universe version of Deathstroke and the President of the United States in the world controlled by the Crime Syndicate of America, and he still retains his white hair and eye-patch (except on his left eye, as opposed to his right). Unlike his counterpart, he never pursued the path as an assassin but rather tries to work for the betterment of the American people through his political career. He was, however, a former soldier, keeping in line with his mercenary counterpart's backstory, but considered as a respectable war hero. He is also shown needing a cane for support, implying that he has health problems and never took the serum that would have given him his superhuman abilities.

Well he is my Deathsroke The Terminator in the normal DC universe so why not, and I totally loved him in Avatar... saw him in something else last week, I forgot the title of the movie but this guy screams Slade through and through, villain or President!

Boss Gordon & Commissioner Thomas Wayne:

On the Anti-Matter Earth, where the evil Crime Syndicate of America live, James Gordon's counterpart is a crime boss named Boss Gordon, an ally to Owlman, and it is implied that he had an affair with Martha Wayne. Boss Gordon is the city's leading crime boss until his empire is toppled by Batman and Commissioner Thomas Wayne.

Well I want you to give me your ideas for these two, the best ones I'll put up. Call it a competition, hey, you might even win something lol! ; P

LEEE777 - Omg, that didn't take too long, well I really hoped you enjoyed and hey I went with fresh picks for Superman & Batman just to spice things up... I mean you can only see Routh & Bale so many times lol.

Note - This is an adaption of the comic book not the animated feature, anyways comments, thoughts, ideas all welcome below!

Heh, heh, you put up the counter JLA to my
JOEBOOT JLA on the same day. Again we
compliment each other without even knowing!
LOL

I got Joe in my Joeboot and you got him here
as the bad guy SUPES from the mean alternate
earth. LOL

We're definitely psychically influencing one
another or something from thousands of miles

This is great Leee@!

Trucco as Superman is a fantastic casting!
He looks and feels the part!

Tahmoh as Bats, now there's a casting I
didn't think of but he fits Batman better
than Superman, I think!

Erin Cummings as WW, oh yeah, mmmmmm-boy!!!!
"CUMMINGS" is a good name for her! LMAO

Viggo as Lex, damm excellent casting, him and
Bettany are prime candidates!

The rest of the JLA here is great!

Your meanie EARTH 2 guys are all right on the
money! Joe could play that with ease, probably
easier than he could Clark Kent. He's kinda
ethnic looking if ya darken his skin like they're
doing for TRUE BLOOD! But he actually has lighter
skin and could easily pass for Kansas Clark Kent
looks-wise!

Fantastic job Leee@, this took a lot more work
than my quickie JOEBOOT, that's fer sure! LOL

Michael Trucco is not my choice, but he is a good choice.
Tahmoh Penikett is a great choice.
Erin Cummings is a good choice.
Milo Ventimiglia is a great choice.
Ryan Kwanten is an awesome choice.
I don't like Kevin McKidd as Aquaman. I just can't imagine him as Aquaman.
I prefer Hamm play Jonn and voice him.
I prefer Viggo Mortensen to play the evil guy.
Joe Manganiello as Ultraman is a good choice.
West is a great choice.
Michelle Monaghan as Superwoman is a good choice.
Sean William Scott is a bad choice for Power Ring.
Bradley Cooper as Johnny Quick is a good choice.
Lang as Wilson is an ok choice.
This is a great cast. Great work. I can't wait for your next cast!

TANK @ Welcomeback! Yeah, something weird has happened here since the site was under contruction all day yesterday (well was when I was using google crome anyways) very weird.

Thanks 4 ur kind comment, glad u like!!!

Superguy @ Funny heh heh, thanx dude! ; D

SUPERHEROFAN @ Cheers dude, glad you like 'em all bar Aqua lol, you know only want Kevin 4 this not a Aquaman movie right, he would be great but the movie would prob be an origin so a tad younger might be the way to go, like McParlin, DDD's Skarsgard, Porter or someone like them... Damn I like Kev a lot lol! Glad you like the rest dude, dunno when I can do another one, these kill me, tho I do have two completed casts just gotta find all the pics (which is a mission an a half) on 3 different computers, yeah don't ask lol. ; P

Cheers again dude, whats your next stuff?

Tacos @ Cheers bro, glad u really like Aqua and LEX an Owlman, yeah Owl was the last I cast, he just hit me in the face lol, thanx man! ; )

Great job. Minor mistake though...

Tahmoh Penikett as Owlman

Should be Dominic West.

Great job with all of this. Nice WW. As a CBM faneditor I can't help thinking of movies/footage where the actors have appeared where they could be depicted as that character. ie Kevin McKidd walks out of the harbour bank holding a tripod in 'Percy Jackson & The ...Whatever of Something'(LOL)showing him for a glimpse as Aquaman; and Ryan Kwanten always looks very Wally West to me too.
Again, great job.

@LEEE777
Nice list, Im not too familiar with some of those
actors but they seem to fit the bill. I always
thought "Ryan Phillipe" would make a good "Barry
Allen-Flash". What do you think?
