Assuming that the Hulk is at first used as a villain in The Avengers, only to later team up with them and be redeemed then this would be my cast for another solo Hulk movie that could follow on soon after the end of that film.
In the sequel, I'd like to see The Leader as the main villain (the last movie did pretty much set that up after all) with the return of the Abomination and perhaps the introduction of The Absorbing Man as minor villains who could serve as the physical villains of the piece.
I also think it would be great to use this movie to introduce some more of Hulk's allies and supporting characters such as his cousin Jen Walters and Rick Jones. Though these parts could be either big or small, it would be great to introduce them in order to set them up for biiger roles in future Hulk movies! (Walters becoming She-Hulk for example)
Talking of allies, if they dont decide to introduce them in The Avengers then this movie would be the perfect place to bring in Giant Man and The Wasp! Anyway, enough talking - here are my choices for the movies main cast!
Ed Norton as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk
Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, exposed to gamma radiation when an experimental gamma bomb test goes horribly wrong, is now the Incredible Hulk.
ALLIES
Liv Tyler as Betty Ross
Betty Ross is a supporting character of the Incredible Hulk comic books, and is a love interest to Bruce Banner aka the Hulk.
Jim Sturgess as Rick Jones
Rick Jones is the scrappy, rebel orphaned "everyman" of the Marvel Universe and one of the Hulk's closest allies.
Lee Thompson Young as Jim Wilson
Jim Wilson was a friend of Bruce Banner and nephew of Sam "Snap" Wilson, the superhero also know as Falcon. Wilson, HIV + has to deal with stereo-types of homophobics and bigots.
Receiving a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, his gamma-irradiated blood has transformed her into the savage She-Hulk.
Matthew Bomer as Doc Samson
Doctor Leonard Samson is the gamma-powered friend and psychiatrist of Bruce Banner. He possesses vast superhuman strength, virtually limitless endurance,and an extremely high degree of invulnerability.
Patrick Wilson as Hank Pym/Giant Man
Hank Pym is a genius, one of the founding members of the Avengers, the creator of Pym Particles, and a modern-day superhero.
Evangeline Lilly as Janet Van Dyne/Wasp
One of the original Avengers and sometime wife of Henry Pym.
ENEMIES
Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader
Samuel Sterns was in an accident when working with radioactive material that bombarded him with gamma radiation, turning his skin green and making his head grow, filling it with extreme knowledge.
Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/The Abomination
Emil Blonsky was a communist spy sent to steal Dr. Bruce Banner's work on gamma radiation. His intentional exposure to it mutated him into the monstrous Abomination!
Bruce Willis as Absorbing Man
An ultra-violent boxer gone criminal, after Loki bestowed powers on him, and is off-again-on again husband to Titania.
William Hurt as General Ross
General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross is the main archenemy of Bruce Banner, the Incredible Hulk. For many years, General Ross spent his time hunting the Hulk while he faces his other enemies.
