Bruce: “Dick was a great friend. He was a son to me. He was, actually. I was a great friend of Dick’s father, John. When he died, I was devastated. Now that Dick is...it’s terrible. When I found him, he...he told me something. Something I’ll never forget. Dick told me that I was more of a father to him than John was. That gave me just a sliver of happiness, but I hated it. And I hate myself for hating it. I just...all I know is that, if Dick is somewhere, then he’s listening, and making a wisecrack about it. As I said before, he was a great friend, and a son. And he didn’t deserve it. No one does.”
Bruce walks to Dick's grave. He looks down at it. He walks away.
He comes to Harvey's grave. He kneels, and stares at the tombstone. He gets up, and walks away.
Soon, Bruce arrives at his parents grave. He kneels, but doesn't leave. It's night when he get up and leaves.
WAYNE MANOR
Bruce walks into the empty structure. He looks around, and walks out.
Bruce moves through the gardens. He moves past overgrown grass, to the well. The same one he fell down 22 years ago. He sat on it’s edge.
“I went to the funeral.”
Bruce: “Get out of here Selina.”
Selina: “It wasn’t your fault.”
Bruce: “Leave.”
Selina: “I’m not going to leave. I’m sorry.”
Bruce: “For what? Killing Ra’s? Killing Wilson? Leaving? Becoming a criminal?”
Selina: “All of them.”
Bruce: “Great. Apology accepted. Leave.”
Selina: “Bruce, you can’t keep doing this.”
Bruce: “No one will care if I die. No one else can die because of me. No one’s left.”
Selina: “I am.”
Bruce: “Damn it, no. You aren’t left, because I can’t trust you. I couldn’t trust Dick. I was forced to trust Strange. I can’t trust anybody.”
Selina: “Good luck staying alive then.”
Bruce: “You know he didn’t deserve it.”
Selina: “He wanted to kill everyone.”
Bruce: “No one deserves it! Firefly didn’t deserve it. The Ventriloquist didn’t deserve it, Joker didn’t deserve it, Wilson didn’t deserve it, Zucco didn’t deserve it, Chill didn’t deserve it, Strange didn’t deserve it, Dick didn’t deserve it, Alfred didn’t deserve it, and Two-Face didn’t deserve it.”
Selina: “Two-Face? You’ve never called him Two-Face.”
Bruce: “He tried to kill me. He tried to kill you. He tried to kill all of us.”
Selina: “But he was your friend.”
Bruce: “Harvey Dent was my friend. But Harvey died when I couldn’t save him!”
Selina: “Because you told me.”
Bruce: “I’m sorry. I’m sorry for telling you. I know I would have died, but I shouldn’t have.”
Selina: “You’re right. I have to give you something.”
Bruce: “What?”
Selina: “It’s a phone. It has one message. From Dick.”
Bruce sits in a velvet chair. He plays the message.
Dick: “Look, Bruce, I know that I shouldn’t have killed Zucco. But...I couldn’t think straight. I had the chance, and I took it. I shouldn’t have, but I did. It was wrong, and I’m sorry. If you did, you would have done the same thing. That’s not the only thing you wouldn’t like. I...I’ve been working with Selina. She’s a criminal. She’s doing it so that she could talk to you, but I couldn’t let you know. I’ve been using the Batcomputer to wipe those locations off the map for the time. I’m sorry. I’m going to let you do it now. I’m not going to wipe anything. I hope that makes up for it. Bruce, I know that I’m an asshole, and I know I shouldn’t have done any of these things. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for doing any of it. I hope you can forgive me. I don’t think I can forgive myself though. But hey. If you can, then maybe I can. So I can wipe the slate clean, and it’ll be a brand new day.”
Bruce turned off the phone.
He turned it on, and dialed a number.
THE APARTMENT COMPLEX
Selina doesn’t answer her phone.
WAYNE MANOR
Bruce: “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Everything that happened was my fault. Everything happened because of me. I shouldn’t have done this. I should have stopped after the first night. I shouldn’t have started it at all. But I did. Now almost everyone I cared about is dead. Harvey, Alfred, Dick. I just like to know that at least one of them is alive. Hopefully she stays that way.”
The Next Day
Bruce walks through the gardens again, at noon. He looks down the well.
Selina: “I got your message.”
Bruce: “Perfect.”
Selina: “I shouldn’t have left. And I didn’t know any other way to...you know.”
Bruce: “You have my number. Did you listen to the message?”
Selina: “No. I talked to Dick before he died. After we had our little run-in. He gave me the phone. He wanted me to give it to you. Couldn’t do it himself.”
Bruce: “You shouldn’t have given it to me.”
Selina: “Well, it was his last request. To me, at least.”
Bruce: “Do you think I would have?”
Selina: “Would have what?”
Bruce: “Murdered Joe Chill?”
Selina: “Of course you would have. But you couldn’t, and you took it as you shouldn’t.”
Bruce: “I did.”
She kisses him.
GOTHAM CITY
The Batmobile is zooming through the streets of Gotham.
THE BATCAVE
Selina is sitting at the Batcomputer.
Selina: “Why doesn’t this feel right?”
GOTHAM CITY
Batman is in the Batmobile.
Batman: “I already told you. I can’t trust you.”
THE BATCAVE
Selina: “Okay then. When do I get to leave the cave?”
GOTHAM CITY
Batman: “We’ll see.”
The car zooms past a building, and the shot rises, showing the Bat-signal. Part of Dick’s message plays again.
“Bruce, I know that I’m an asshole, and I know I shouldn’t have done any of these things. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for doing any of it. I hope you can forgive me. I don’t think I can forgive myself though. But hey. If you can, then maybe I can. So I can wipe the slate clean, and it’ll be a brand new day.”

I will be writing the first in a series of Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern movies, all leading up to a Justice League movie! Then sequels! I hosted a poll asking which of them I should do first. It won in a landslide, Aquaman! The second and third were tied, I’ll be doing Flash next, then Green Lantern! After those, will be Superman, then Wonder Woman! After the first in all of them are done, the Justice League! Here’s a trailer for Aquaman!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A blond teenager walks across a beach. He’s approached by a pale, middle-aged man.
“Arthur Curry, as I live and breathe. It’s an honor. It really is.”
“Who are you?”
“That’s the question. Just...for you.”
They talk in a diner.
“Okay, what do you want?”
“I want you to listen to me. There’s a war brewing. If your half-brther kills you, it will begin. And trust me, he wants to kill you.”
“I don’t have a half-brother.”
“Not on land.”
“Humans pollute. They don’t care for the oceans, because they don’t know there is a civilization under the waves.”
“Are you trying to teach me something? Because I got the same message from WALL-E.”
“You were sent up here because you could be. To learn of the humans. To spare them! You are a hybrid.”
“Half-human and half-...?”
“Atlantean.”
“I’m not a king.”
“You aren’t. Not yet.”
“I’m a freaking teenager. My grades are below average! I’m not a king!”
“Then you will perish, along with the rest.”
The teen and a man in his mid-twenties stare each other down.
“I will take everything from you Arthur. Your home. Your friends. Your throne. Your life.”
“Not today Orm.”
The screen flashes as the man throws a trident.
“What if I can’t stop him?”
“You must.”
AQUAMAN
“So let me get this straight, I have full access to the treasury?”
“We don’t use paper underwater.”
“Thanks for ruining my day.”
“The pleasure is all mine.”
“Funny.”
