Man of Steel Teaser Trailer #1
A truck is driving down a forgotten road. The sound of enclosed music is heard. Jonathan and Martha Kent are in the front seats, with Jonathan driving. The music continues playing, and the camera shows their mouths moving as they are talking and laughing and singing along. Mid-sentence, the truck flips over as a massive object rips through the hood and crashes into the field next to the road.
NEW SHOT: Martha and Jonathan have escaped the car and are walking across the field towards the mysterious object. The camera pans around them until it is facing the crash site. The two lift a sleeping(?) toddler out of a crashed ship.
Martha: Wha- What's going on?
Jonathan: I think we might have made first contact.
NEW SHOT: Jonathan and Martha are sitting at the kitchen desk, talking.
Jonathan: There was a video in that ship. It was of a couple, I didn't understand their names, well their planet was dying as they spoke. I could see crumbling buildings behind them. They were sending their son to Earth because they don't want him to be killed and they want him to survive.
Martha: What was the planet's name?
*tension builds in the score*
Jonathan: Krypton.
NEW SHOT: A bus swerves off of a long bridge and smashes off of the side. Children inside are screaming and trying to escape. Suddenly the bus stops in mid-air. It is being pushed back up onto the bridge, and when it gets there quickly drives away. People rush over to the edge to see what happened (the camera is facing downwards but nothing is there). The crowd look puzzled. Camera pans to underneath the bridge, showing Clark Kent floating in the air.
NEW SHOT: Clark bursts into the kitchen where Martha is washing the dishes and Jonathan is reading the newspaper.
Clark: Did you know about this!?
*his tone is angry* *Ma and Pa look uneasy*
Jonathan: Kn-know about what son?
Clark: I have powers.
NEW SHOT: Clark is sitting on his bed looking sad. Martha walks into the room.
Martha: We felt that it was best the truth was kept from you. We didn't want you to do anything reckless...
*the last words are a voiceover of the next shot*
NEW SHOT: Adult Clark is beating up people in an alleyway and taking their money.
NEW SHOT: Clark attacking the people in the alley is shown on the evening news and Ma and Pa are watching. A red penline points to the attacker's face and a circle is drawn around it, highlighting Clark's face.
Martha: Clark, it couldn't have been-
NEW SHOT: Clark runs out of the house and slams the door beind him. Ma and Pa follow him.
Jonathan: Clark, what are you doing!? Where are you going?
Clark: You saw what I've become. I need to learn how to use my powers. This is goodbye.
Martha: No- Clark leaps into the air and flies away at top speed before she can finish.
*the 'bbbrrrmmmm' sound from every movie trailer since
Inception plays now*
Montage of shots: A shirtless Clark Kent smash landing on an icy sheet, Clark leaping off of a mountain, quick-cut to Clark jumping into a freezing pool, a strange ship hovering down the road in Metropolis, Lois Lane looking upwards, scared, a man in a dirty military outfit falling through a wormhole in a science lab and a Clark fighting off a pack of wolves and defending a family in Iceland. When the wolves are gone, the claw and bite marks on Clark's chest disappear.
Clark: I'm ready.
*he leaps into the air and flies away, knowing he has mastered his powers*
NEW SHOT: Superman flying through the streets using his heat vision to shoot beams at soldiers shooting bullets at him, thrusting them backwards knowing that he cannot be killed by one of them. He stretches his arm out and flies forward, as the camera pans around to show him flying towards a 10 foot tall monster's chest. When he hits it, the screen goes red, zooming out to show the 'S' emblem. The words, 'Man of Steel' are written across it. End trailer.
