Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes, many doubt and are criticizing the looks, the voice and anything that has to do with Bane in TDKR. As much of a Nolanite that I'am, when I laid my eyes on Tom Hardy as Bane in the first full image I said WTF? No worries as time passed me by and I started looking into Tom Hardy I realized I had nothing to worry about. In a not too long write up I will tell ya why I know we shouldn't doubt this vision that Mr. Nolan has and why Tom Hardy is best looking the way he is than a BIG LUCHADOR looking fella.
Tom hardy as an actor:
Well he started out small and broke out with Bronson. While this may not be the reason why he was chosen to portray the gruesome Bane, he does show us that he can sure as heck put on muscle. He was ruthless in the film. Always fighting and beating the lights out of everyone. Then we saw him as a smartly crafted sleek looking Eames. He showed us he can be taken as a serious actor. This is probably the role that snagged him Bane. I wouldn't doubt it. Then this last weekend I witnessed one of the best movies I've seen this year. WARRIOR. Though not saying much in the film but hateful comments to his father, he was once again ruthless and Bulked up. As I was watching Warrior I tried to picture the Bane outfit on him and it just clicked. He's no better of an actor that Heath Ledger was but in magnitude of strong potential hes at about his level.
Bane:
Lets face the facts, its either his costume, voice, or mouthpiece. Personally, I think his costume is something that sets him apart from a repetition. Its different. Its bulky and looks like hes been through hell and back. Something came into mind a couple of days ago at the theater. In the teaser, towards the end of it when Bane walks up to Bats, hes shirtless! Even in his teaser image that was released way back...yup..you guessed it. No Outfit. So many hate on it but take my word for it, we probably wont see him too much in it as it doesn't allow him to swiftly beat the crap out of Bats. His Voice. Many "fans" judge it and say it sounds like he has breathing problems. I beg to differ. There's still Post production and fine tuning before the film arrives in July. Like I stated above, he doesn't need to speak much for Hardy to get his point across. Remember, Joker didn't have to say much either. That speech video is from a camera phone for gods sakes! Mouthpiece. We dont even know the purpose for it. Venom inserter? maybe. not likely. I'm pretty sure that comes off later in the movie as well. Bane is gonna be a physical challenge towards Bats no doubt about it.
His role in TDKR:
Who actually knows anything but him just walking around, fighting with his Mercs, dropping trucks off higher grounds, threatening innocent lives, releasing inmates from prison, fist to fist with Bats and just looking all intimidating? If you ask me, that is more than enough reason to look forward to seeing him more and more by the day. Is he working with someone? Is he associated with the LoS? Is he working for Talia? Whats his motive? No one knows but Nolan and thats why Bane is one of those villains that are gonna demolish next years summer film wars. Oh and i wanted to throw something in here and see if anyone could help me out or have any guesses as to what it might mean.
Why would Bane be ripping up a poster of Harvey Dent? Tsk Tsk Tsk..too many questions very little answers. Next time ill be doing Catwoman and vent on why i think Anne Hathaway is a good choice and how her outfit is a good choice for Nolan's take on Batman. So I'm not trying to change minds but hopefully after reading this it may cool down a couple of those hot heads who have been judging Bane and Hardy since day 1. Sound off below.
