FANCAST: Actresses Who Could Play Wonder Woman in the Justice League Movie

With both Henry Cavill and Christian Bale rumored to reprise roles for the upcoming Justice League movie, the trinity remains incomplete without a proper Wonder Woman! Here is my fan cast for the Amazon princess.

Although the age of Wonder Woman has been significantly decreased in the New 52, I've always considered Diana to be in her late 20's. That being said, here are my top choices for the role. "The four A's" if you will, were my guidelines for choosing the actresses. Appearance (beauty, height, build), age, acting ability, and action credits. The pro's and con's were weighed for each under the pictures. Share your choices in the comments!

KATIE MCGRATH

Most known for: Merlin, W.E., Red Mist
McGrath, 29, is the right age and has the beauty of Aphrodite, but only stands at 5'5". Though with some Black Widow-style heals, she could easily stand tall enough to play Diana. She has shown ability to handle both action and drama as villainess Morgana in Merlin. Although she hasn't been in much other than that, I think she'd do well in a transition to the silver screen.

JAIMIE ALEXANDER

Most known for: Thor, Kyle X.Y., The Last Stand
Alexander, 28, is a fan favorite choice and would do really well in the role. She's tall, beautiful, and has demonstrated action chops in Thor as the Wonder Woman-esce Lady Sif. Whether or not she has the charisma to carry her own movie remains in question, though.

ALLISON WILLIAMS

Most known for: Girls
A somewhat random choice and fresh face in the industry, Allison Williams (daughter of Brian Williams, for those of you who watch the news) is gorgeous, rather tall, and athletically built, but has no action experience to speak of. Although she does receive praise for her role on HBO's Girls, she might not have the goddess presence required for WW.

ADRIANNE PALICKI

Most known for: Wonder Woman, GI Joe: Retaliation, Friday Night Lights
Now a lot of you may not agree with this one. Palicki, 29, played WW in the failed NBC pilot, as most of you know. I have seen the pilot and in my opinion, she handled the role really well and shouldn't be blamed for the crappy script she was given. That being said, she should be given another chance alongside a talented team producing the movie. She's beautiful, 5'11", and kicks butt in Red Dawn and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. What more do you need?

MEGHAN ORY

Most known for: Once Upon a Time, Supernatural
Another random choice, Meghan Ory, 30, plays the fan-favorite character Red Riding Hood on ABC's Once Upon a Time. Like most of the women here, she's tall, gorgeous, and athletic-looking. She leans towards the skinny side, but if men can bulk up for movies, why not women? With a little action credit from OUAT and charisma that shines on screen, she may be able to pull off Diana quite well.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE

Most known for: The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, Winter's Bone
Jennifer Lawrence, 22, might take some re-imagining to play Diana, but hear me out. 1. She has the right look, with in my opinion, the perfect body for WW. 2. She is probably the hottest actress right now and would do wonders for publicity and getting the female audience into theaters. 3. She's the most versatile and arguably best actress of the bunch with a shiny new Oscar under her belt. Even though she's a bit young, she gives off a mature essence and didn't seem weird playing a love interest for Bradley Cooper, 38. With proven action skills, she'd probably nail the role.

MERYL STREEP

Most known for: The Devil Wears Prada, The Hours, Mamma Mia!
Last but certainly not least, up-and-coming actress Meryl Streep, 63, appears to be the top contender for the role. She can act her way out of anything. She should probably also be considered for Green Lantern and Flash. Her body is bangin' and men and women alike wouldn't be able to resist paying just to see her. None of the other actresses really matter at this point.

I am guessing a few of these are jokes. As for which one I like of yours the best it would be Katie McGrath. I have enjoyed her portrayal as Morgana on Merlin. It is too bad that there was only five seasons. But with how it ended they could not do another one.

I myself thought when Legend of the Seeker was on Bridget Regan could have made an interesting Diana.

That being said I so hope WB brings out a Wonder Woman film. Because it is about time we get to see her on the big screen.

@Lewis25

I hadn't thought of her! I want her to be Ms. Marvel too badly. She would be awesome as WW though yeah!

I'm all for Jamie Alexander. Especially Jennifer Lawrence. I just LOVE her. But, where in the hell are you going with Meryl Streep? "Up and coming"? She's been around for ages. Please tell me you were just messing around.

Stana Katic.

But aside of that, I'd like to thank you for the many great alternatives you've provided above. McGrath, Ory (although she has more of a sinister presence), and Williams are three of your picks that I'd seriously consider for the role in the future, great picks. The only thing that stops me from supporting Jamie Alexander is the fact that she's already Sif in the Marvel Universe, while Jennifer Lawrence is everything but Diana. (I'm not sure if you're joking with her, though.) And of course, Meryl Streep is such an utter perfection for the Amazonian Princess.

WTF Meryl Strep LOL, I would go with Lawrence she is really HOT and a good actress plus it will probably take a few years to get made then she would be PERFECT as Diana.

I completely agree! She's my top choice.

Jaime is a hard core Marvel fan and has already said 'no' in interviews when asked about the possibility of her as Wonder Woman.

I could see Ory as Zatanna in Justice League Dark.

That said DC will probably go with Lawerence or whoever is popular when the JLA movie goes into production.

I still think Katharine McPhee would make a cracking wonderwoman

@Unionjack

I love McPhee as a singer, but I find her to be a terrible actress.... not sure if you've seen Smash, but she's somewhat of a joke.

How about Lawrence as Supergirl? I'm not sure how Kara could be written into the JL movie, but it would be great to have her in there so WW wouldn't be the only female in there. Now I maybe getting a little bit out of the box here, but what about Brooklyn Decker as WW? I don't have the resources myself, but a photo of her with her hair dyed black with the tiara on I think might sell the idea. Visualize.

How about Serinda Swan? She is stunning and a fine actress. I don't know if she is tall enough for the role.

Otherwise, if you accept a WW in her forties, the best choice would be Charisma Carpenter...

I always thought Allison Williams would make a good Iris West.

I think the 2 best candidates would be;

Rachel Nichols - 5'10" and has an exotic look might need to die her hair black but its holly-weird.
-Continuum
-Conan the Barbarian
-G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
-Star Trek

Gina Torres - 5'10" and she really has that exotic look and she can act but she is built like Wonder Woman should be. Not like the choices your saying all of whom don't have a the body to pull off the costume like Gina.
-Suits
-Hannibal
-Standoff
-Alias
-Without a Trace
-Serenity
-The Matrix Revolutions / The Matrix Reloaded
-24
-Firefly
-Cleopatra 2525
-Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

I've said it before but I'd just like to repeat for clarification...

...Bridget Regan

There really is NO other choice!
