It’s amazing just how little we know about Marvel’s Phase 3. The only officially announced films we have are Ant-Man and GOTG 2. Beyond that, we have those we know are happening but haven’t been officially confirmed (Cap 3, Doctor Strange), those that we presume are happening as they are new instalments in beloved franchises (Thor 3) and those that have been a hotbed of rumours and misleading tweets for years (Black Panther, Captain Marvel etc). I believe that Inhumans probably falls into that third category.
It was reported a few weeks ago by Collider that Marvel had begun distributing a script written by Joe Robert Cole (one of Marvel’s in-house writing team) to a number of different filmmakers. If true, then this would mean they intend to approach it in a similar fashion to GOTG. For those unfamiliar with this, Marvel sent out a GOTG script written by Nicole Perlman to a number of directors before eventually settling on James Gunn. It appears they intend to do the same for Inhumans.
So, with all this fuss over a potential cinematic outing for the good citizens of Attilan, I thought it a good time to present to you my fan-cast for Marvel Studio’s The Inhumans. As well as covering which actors/actresses I’d like to see play which character, I’ll also be choosing a creative team- a director, some writers, a cinematographer etc. Let’s get started!

_________________________________________________________________________________________
BLACKAGAR BOLTAGON AKA BLACK BOLT- TOM HARDY
(Warrior, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)

BLACK BOLT: Cursed with the power to destroy cities with a single sound, the king of the Inhumans has spent years honing his body to never make a sound, even in sleep, for fear he could destroy his people.
TOM HARDY: Tom Hardy is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated performers in Hollywood. In TDKR, he was able to convey more emotion with just his eyes than most actors can with their entire faces. He’s a great physical presence on screen, and would totally bring the intensity and restrained emotion that Black Bolt needs.
MEDUSALITH BOLTAGON AKA MEDUSA- CATE BLANCHETT
(Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Blue Jasmine, The Monuments Men)

MEDUSA: Medusa is the queen of the Inhumans and the wife of Black Bolt. She also serves as his primary interpreter, as she is one of the few who can understand his body language. She is identified by her long, thick head of red hair, which she can manipulate at will to use as whips, restraints or whatever the situation calls for.
CATE BLANCHETT: Cate Blanchett is one of the most talented actresses working in Hollywood today. She’s more than earned her 2 Academy Awards, and also has an amazing talent to make everything she says sound epic. She has an innate regal presence, and also has shown she knows how to portray people in difficult relationships. Seriously, just watch Lord of the Rings or the first Hobbit film, and come back and tell me she wouldn’t kill it as Medusa.
CRYSTALIA AMAQUELIN AKA CRYSTAL- EMMA WATSON
(Harry Potter, Noah, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, The Bling Ring)
CRYSTAL: Crystal is the younger sister of Medusa and the princess of the Inhumans. She has the ability to manipulate all 4 elements (Earth, Wind, Fire & Water) and bend them to her will.
EMMA WATSON: Seriously, do I even need to explain this? Emma Watson is an extremely talented young actress who, in my opinion, is looking for that next breakout role in her career to allow her to step out of that distinctly Hermione-shaped shadow. So what better way to help her do so than giving her the lead role in a major Marvel superhero film?
Yes, I said lead role. I think Crystal should be the main character in this film. Firstly, female leads are big business now- just look at the blockbuster success of The Hunger Games if you don’t agree with me. Secondly, Black Bolt probably couldn’t be the lead as he doesn’t speak, and Crystal is just such a great character to have as the lead. She’s young, she’s optimistic, she’s outgoing and intrinsically relatable. Thirdly, Marvel have yet to pivot a movie around a female lead, so I feel that this would be a great way for them to have their first woman lead. Also, Emma Watson. Need I say more.
GORGON PETRAGON AKA GORGON- GERARD BUTLER
(300, How To Train Your Dragon, Olympus Has Fallen, How To Train Your Dragon 2)

GORGON: Gorgon was exposed to the Terrgien Mists as an infant, and as a result gained hooved feet and incredible lower body strength. He is so strong that he can create mini earthquakes by stamping his feet to disable his opponents.
GERARD BUTLER: Butler is one of Hollywood’s premiere badasses. The dude has one helluva physique, and is also a really likeable and intimidating screen presence. I remember one internet reviewer saying that Butler is ‘50% badass, 50% goofball’, which lends itself perfectly to the character of Gorgon.

TRITON- ANDY SERKIS
(Lord of The Rings, Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Prestige, Inkheart)
TRITON: Triton is also a member of the Inhuman royal family. After he was exposed to the Terrigen Mists, he gained a number of aquatic mutations, including fins on his head and arms, enhanced physique and the ability to breathe underwater.
ANDY SERKIS: Serkis is one of the finest character actors in Hollywood. The guy is able to convey more emotion under a ton of CGI than most actors can with their own faces. It’s probabaly obvious that I’d like Triton to be a mo-cap creation, and who better than the king of mo-cap to do so. He has that quiet man’s authority and charisma that would perfectly fit into the character of Triton. He can convey so much emotion with little speech, and I’d love to see the guy as Triton.
KARNAK- JAKE GYLLENHAAL
(Source Code, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prisoners, Brokeback Mountain)

KARNAK: Karnak is also a member of the Inhuman royal family. He is a highly skilled martial artist, and has the extrasensory ability to sense the weakness or fault in any person or object.
JAKE GYLLENHAAL: There’s just something about Gyllenhaal that makes me totally buy him as Karnak. He has a natural charm and look about him that seems ready-made for the martial artist Inhuman. He’s done plenty of action and got to flex his martial arts muscles in Prince of Persia, which despite being an astonishingly average film, he gave a good performance in. Bottom line, I’d love to see the guy play Karnak.
MAXIMUS BOLTAGON AKA MAXIMUS THE MAD- JAVIER BARDEM
(Skyfall, No Country For Old Men, The Counsellor)
MAXIMUS THE MAD: Maximus is an insane genius and the brother of Black Bolt. Driven mad by hatred for his brother, Maximus regularly plots against the royal family, and has frequently collaborated with alien races such as the Kree to further advance his plans.
JAVIER BARDEM: I’ll freely admit I’m almost solely basing this of his scene-stealing turn as Silva from Skyfall, but if you’ve seen the movie you’ll understand why. Bardem in that movie was a truly terrifying villain who came across as genuinely unhinged- and that is what Maximus needs to be. He managed to be both disturbing and also calculated, like there is a method to his madness. He truly is Maximus, and I want to see him tackle this role.
DIRECTOR: MATT REEVES
(Cloverfield, Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes)
DIRECTOR: A film director is a person who directs the making of a film. Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking. In some European countries, the director is viewed as the author of the film.
MATT REEVES: Reeves is so awesome! He’s consistently produced great films and has really stepped up his game with DOTPOTA. I think that film had a tone and style that would lend itself very well to an Inhumans movie. In that film, he showed a great skill at portraying political power struggles and rivalry, something that would lend itself immensely well to an Inhumans movie.
WRITERS- RICK JAFFA & AMANDA SILVER
(Rise/Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Jurassic World)
SCREENWRITER: Every screenplay and teleplay begins with a thought or idea, and screenwriters use those ideas to write scripts, with the intention of selling them and having them produced. The majority of the time, a film project gets initiated by a screenwriter and because they initiated the project, the writing assignment exclusively becomes his or hers.

RICK JAFFA & AMANDA SILVER: These two are amazing! I love the work they’ve done with the new Planet of the Apes films, and clearly many others do- they’ve been hired to pen Jurassic World and James Cameron’s Avatar 3. These guys know how to portray the struggles of leadership, which is the sort of conflict an Inhumans movie should be centered around.
(some of the) PRODUCERS- KEVIN FIEGE, LOUIS D’ESPOSITO, STAN LEE
(THE ENTIRE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE)
PRODUCERS: Film producers prepare and then supervise the making of a film before presenting the product to a financing entity or a film distributor. Either employed by a production company or independent, they help the creative people as well as the accounting personnel.
ALL OF THEM: This trio have been behind the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have two extremely talented franchise overlords and the guy responsible for creating all of these wonderful characters that populate these films.
CINEMATOGRAPHER- DANIEL MINDEL
(Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, John Carter, The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
CINEMATOGRAPHER: A cinematographer or director of photography (sometimes shortened to DP or DOP) is the chief over the camera and lighting crews working on a film, television production or other live action piece and is responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image. The study and practice of this field is referred to as cinematography.
DANIEL MINDEL:  Mindel is a very talented DOP who’s worked on some visually stunning films. He’s done great work on the new Star Trek films and films like John Carter and TASM2 (films I thought were bad but were visually stunning). I’d love to see this guy bring to life the futuristic and vibrant world of the Inhumans.
COMPOSER- MARC STREITENFELD
(Prometheus, Body of Lies, Robin Hood, Gladiator)

COMPOSER: A film score (also sometimes called film music, background music, or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question.
MARC STREITENFELD: Streitenfeld is a long time Ridley Scott collaborator who’s penned some truly epic scores. Just search up the ‘Engineer Awakens’ scene from Prometheus and try and disagree with me. He knows how to make things sound epic or tense or dramatic or whatever the film calls for. I love this guy’s work and would love to see him score an Inhumans film.
COSTUME DESIGNER- JANTY YATES
(Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, Robin Hood)
COSTUME DESIGNER: A costume designer is a person who designs costumes for a film or stage production. The role of the costume designer is to create the characters and balance the scenes with texture and color, etc. The costume designer works alongside the director, scenic, lighting designer, sound designer, and other creative personnel. The costume designer may also collaborate with hair stylist, wig master, or makeup artist. In European theatre, the role is different, as the theater designer usually designs both costume and scenic elements.
JANTY YATES: Janty Yates (no relation to David Yates) is another longtime Ridley Scott collaborator with a real talent at creating costumes that fit the films like a glove. I’d love to see her design the futuristic yet regal outfits of the Inhuman royal family.
Thanks for checking out my Inhumans fancast! If you like this article, please hit that red glove and show some love. Disagree with any of my suggestions? Like to make your own? Let me know in the comments below! That’s it from me for now. Live long and prosper!

Love the idea of Reeves doing this!
A lot of your cast I agree with, not sure about Blanchett, I think she's too old for Medusa, although a fantastic actress, definitely one of my all time favourites I think she'd suit a different role better.

Casting for Black Bolt and how they portray him will be a challenge.

@RebelVulcan

Yes she really would! It's a subtle but powerful role and she can really do that.

This is really good work! If it was me personally, I would cast someone similar to Hardy's age for Medusa, as there is a 9 yr difference between Hardy and Blanchett. That's just my honest opinion though. However, Blanchett would still be a great choice and I definitely see why she would work.

This is damned near perfect. I especially like Gyllenhall as Karnak.

i would love to see Emma Watson as crystal she is a very good actress (plus she is hot). im not sure if they would make crystal the main character but if they do i hope quicksilver shows up at some point in the film.

Gliderman- yeah i'm imagining the inhuman royal discovering that some inhumans have been seen out side of attilian. so then black bolt would send karnak, gorgon and crystal to find them the twins think they are going to capture them and fight them, then crystal steps in between them and stops them from fighting.

they then get taken to attilian, maximus is worried they will bring outsiders there (the avengers). crystal and quicksilver get some cool scenes. im not sure who could/would be the villian, and where they would put attilian sometimes it's on the moon sometimes somewhere on earth. but i would like to see a terrigen bomb go off that way they can introduce so many minor heroes with 1 easy explanation like kamela khan and inferno. i also think crystals powers would be cool to see on screen.

Hmmmmm, Emma Watson.

I think, like Fantastic 4, age matters and they should be a family of peers with Crystal being much younger. Blanchett and Bolt, at least should be closer, as should Maximus and Bolt, no? Jake deserves a bigger role. I like Jason Statham for the role

I think this is actually fantastic, great stuff i love all your choices. My favorite choices would have to be, the choice of director which is Matt Reeves and two of my favorite actors which are Andy Serkis and Emma Watson.

You get a thumbs up from me.

@RebelVulcan

Essentially I'm looking at the choices and going, "None of these are terrible actors at all, they all probably could do a bang up job considering they're THEM, but they
don't strike me as...ideal, to play the roles", if that makes sense.

With the exception of Maximus and Triton , they're spot on
