I've te thought to do a cast for an older bats for a while now, and well basically it's just a dream since it'll never happen, not how I see it at least, like fellow member comedian03 said "extremely gritty, not kid friendly at all, blood, cursing, stuff you don't take your 10 year old to the theaters to see. But at the same time keeping things sensible and in the realm of what Batman really stands for", way more detective stuff too, maybe bats gettin sloppy but way darker than we've seen. I think these guys can deliver.
I Am The Batman!
Christopher Meloni is Bruce Wayne/Batman
I wanted an actor who could easily venture into the extremely dark psyche of this older, grizzled bats, and be a complete badass too. I wouldn't have even done the cat if I didn't find someone I thought was appropriate and cold go as dark as I wanted, luckily, I thought of Meloni and he was exactly what I wanted.
John Hurt is Alfred Pennyworth
Hurt is obviously a favorite actor of mine and since the years are gaining on him, I love the idea of him doing this, simple as that. Plus his voice is as amazing as he is an actor.
Michael Keaton is Commissioner Gordon
How awesome would this be? Keaton was of course the bet bats so far and it would be an amazing throw-back to his films by doing this, plus I think he would just badass here period.
Christina Hendricks is Vicki Vale
This one was obvious. I imagined Vale would be an obvious love interest here and Hendricks is so perfect for it it's crazy. Just look at her, she practically is Vale.
Rachel Nichols is Barbara Gordon/Oracle
Basically the intel side of Bats and also a love interest for Dick, and the hot red-head Nichols is very mch approriate for the role. Barbara getting paralyzed could also be a really cool, dark scene. Just throwing that in.
Scott Porter is Dick Grayson/Nightwing
Best known for being on Friday Night Lights, which hes great on, and I think he's spot-on for this older Nightwing as long as they write him correctly, Porter would kill it.
Monica Bellucci is Catwoman
Thinking of an older Catwoman was difficult at first, but then I thought of Bellucci who could bring an interesting, more....exotic take on her as the anti-hero who I imagine goes "badder" essentially into more of a villain than anything.
Dominic West is Ra's Al Ghul
I love the Wire and West was great on it, and I personally think he looks the part pretty damn perfectly, and could easily own it. His "cleansing" would be epic.
Vincent D'Onofrio is the Penguin
I've always had this thought, for a no-cheese mobster-type Penguin, more realistic, but probably still with a sense of sadism and a creep factor to it, all things D'Onofrio can pull off.
Edward James Olmos is the voice of Bane
While I wouldn't say this would work in a young bats' career, I think Olmos would be amazing as an older bane, essentially more deteriorated as his use of venom progressed and he became obsessed using it.
Stephen Moyer is Harvey Dent/Two-Face
I think the closing factor was his very proportionate face, however he an undeniable screen presence and charisma that could work for Harvey. I've always had the thought, but it seems to work best here.
Michael Wincott is Mr. Freeze
Anyone who's seen the Crow knows the dude owns a villain role, his 'cold' acting style and incredible voice would lead to a very memorable Freeze imo.
Kevin Costner is the Riddler
I'm thinking Mr. Brooks Costner here. I loved the idea of grounding the Riddler and removing the extreme cheese like Jim Carrey's version, more like the killer in SE7EN, and Costner would own as a cold, menacing and mysterious villain.
Mary-Louise Parker is Harley Quinn
I love her on Weeds, and I know she has an inner psycho to her, plus I reckon she even is a little creepy sometimes, which would apply to an older Harley since spending all the years with the joker isn't gonna make her more sane. I think these click really well and she'd be hot in the costume too.
Michael Emerson is the Joker
Anyone who's watched him Lost know's the man has an undeniable talent, and though he's never gone full-on psycho, I know he has it in him, he jjust needs the chance nd this could be it. Just look at those eyes, they'vegot psycho written all over them. I'd imagine he'd be more dark and sadistic than Ledger's, and even scary, definitely not something for the kids.
