I was rooting for Cavill to win the role ever since it was announced there would be a reboot. I am a firm believer he will be better than Christopher Reeve. Enough said.
OLIVIA WILDE as Lois Lane
She is a very high rising star right now, set to go even bigger after Cowboys & Aliens comes out later this year and thats after Tron: Legacy. She would be an epic Lois Lane, feisty, sexy and intelligent every Lois Lane is.
COREY BURTON as Brainiac
I loved his voice for Brainiac in the animated series' for Cartoon Network and would envision Goyer & Nolan going for a robotic/cyborg Brainiac if he is indeed the villain. Burton is perfect.
MICHAEL FASSBENDER as Lex Luthor
I thought casting Luthor was a hard one. Obvious choice would be Billy Zane and can see why, he looks like Luthor and has a demeanor like his animated counterpart did. But I think Fassbender would be a better Luthor. Yes he is playing Magneto and it could become cliche but I think otherwise.
MALIN AKERMAN as Mercy Graves
If there is Lex, then I can see Mercy being here too. She is a popular character after her aniamted introduction and believe Snyder would go with an old acquaintence, his leading lady from Watchmen. She kind of looks like Mercy and with black hair would kill it as Mercy.
PAUL DANO as James Olsen
He is a rising star in a string of movies and by far the best "available" candidate to play Olsen. Anton Yelchin will be busy on Star Trek, Jesse Eisenburg is too old as is Seth Rogen. Michael Cera is just not for me at all. Dano is the best candidate simple.
CHRIS COOPER as Perry White
He was Christopher Nolan's first pick for Commisioner Gordon and trust Nolan and pick him as Perry White. He looks like he is permanantly mardy and that is how I see Perry White. Excellent choice.
ED HARRIS as Gen. Samuel Lane
His performance in The Rock convinced me for this one. Lois Lane's father if Superman turned up in America, of course the army and such will be interested in him. Harris would be able to play the over protective and aggressive father very well.
DAVID BOREANAZ as Bruno Manheim
Boreanaz looks like a tough gangster type and could play how I envision Manheim very well. He is American not Italian and is a tough, hard adn ruthless boss working alongside Luthor. Boreanaz and Fassbender look good together.
BRUCE GREENWOOD as Jonathan Kent
I like the look of Greenwood for Jonathan. He looks like he has worked on a farm all his life and is a good honest man. I don't believe there is a better choice out there for Jonathan. Harrison Ford and Jeff Bridges are also good choices but it is Greenwood for me.
JULIANNE MOORE as Martha Kent
I wanted a younger Martha Kent like Jonathan and Julianne Moore is reaching the age to play older roles and I believe this will be one of her defining ones. I based Jonathan and Martha off of Smallville's Kents' and Julianne Moore seems a great choice and is still a great actress evidented by the nominations recently for her.
RACHAEL TAYLOR as Cat Grant
She is a good looking average actress which is basically like Cat Grant. Into that 90210 category of looks etc, Taylor like many other actresses is perfect for playing Cat Grant, arch rival of Lois Lane.
JOE MANGANIELLO as Steve Lombard
He was "apparently" close to getting the Superman gig but I don't believe that for a second and believe he wasn't even screen tested. If he was I bet he was laughed at by Snyder as he said in the EW spread. Anyway he is more suited to playing a jerk-ass reporter than Superman.
VINTA MORGAN as Ron Troupe
A small actor who is on the rise, he looks innocent and hard working and with this being a minor role with very speaking lines, it shouldn't matter too much but would like to think he still do something with the role.
VIGGO MORTENSEN as Jor-El
This seems so right it is unbelievable. His performances in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy convinced me he was Jor-El. His passion in his performance where he is pleading reminded me so much of Jor-El trying to plead with the Ruling Council on Krypton. Awesomeness alongside my Lara pick.
MICHELLE PFEIFFER as Lara Lor-Van
Honouring the original Superman rules and getting big names stars in minor roles, Pfeiffer as Superman's mother is awesome. Pfeiffer has an eternal beauty which is how I envision Superman's mom, kind of like an angel.
TAYLOR MOMSEN as Kara Zor-El
Again if she was included, I would like to see Taylor Momsen as Kara. I see Kara as a rebel which Momsen is and if Kara came to earth in 2011, would kind of dress like Momsen and be a rebel like that and Momsen looks perfect for Kara.
