Fantastic Four Fancast!

Fantastic Four Fancast!

And, yes, you can expect some Lee Pace.

Why waste your time? I'm going to get right to it. I have a feeling you'll either really like or dislike this fancast.

Reed Richards: Lee Pace

If you know me, you know that I'm a Pace fanatic. I'd cast him a million times over in everything I could because I think he's just that fantastic of an actor. I've wanted him as Daredevil, an older Spider-Man, and now Reed Richards.

Sue Storm: Katrina Bowden

Bowden is definitely on the rise and she packs quite a bit of comedic talent and enough genuine sincerity to really hit home a charming character. It'd be wonderful to see her take on the independent Sue Storm and add depth and character to one of comics finest leading ladies.

Johnny Storm: Ben Barnes

Barnes has sort of disappeared from the public eye, lately, and even though he was quite a hit with the ladies as Prince Caspian in the Narnia movies, I'd like to see him take on a role he can have a bit more fun with. I think Barnes is an actor that, when let loose, he could really surprise a lot of people. The only issue with his casting is that he is older than Bowden (who, in the comics, is Johnny's older sister), though I think that Barnes can play younger and Bowden older (even if it is just a year's difference).

Ben Grimm: Bruce Willis

An obvious fan-favorite, Willis is no stranger to comic book films (Sin City, RED) and to see him have fun with Ben Grimm could really be the tie that brings the whole family together. Normally, I'm against doing a major Hollywood player in fan-fics, but I've always been a fan of Willis.

Victor Von Doom: Jean Dujardin

Now, I'm aware that Dujardin isn't the strongest English speaker at this point, but I would have hopes that by the time my kind of Fantastic Four film would be made, he'd be fluent. He's an incredibly diverse actor and while he's known for comedy, I'd love to see him take a darker, more dramatic turn a-la Jim Carrey/Robin Williams. Obviously, Doom is a staple in the Marvel Comics world, and I'd love to see what Dujardin comes to within his Latverian castle.

I really like this cast and it is very original. I am not so keen on Willis as Thing because he is kind of old while the rest of the cast is really young. I do really like your Doom choice though because he is a really good actor and Doom is supposed to sound foreign so Dujardin's accent fits.

I wouldn't mind these choices at all.

However I'd suggest Julia Styles as Susan for Lee

If you're going for that sorta age range, Willis does seem a little too old. And I just don't really see Barnes as Johnny Storm. But Reed, Sue and Doom are all great choices!

I like 3/5. I like them all — just can't see Barnes playing Johnny to that Susan — and I think Willis would be great as Ben — just not sure about him providing performance capture — sure his voice would be fitting, though.

Lee Pace would be perfect.

@battlinmurdock I just recently watched the expendables and I think randy couture or Steve Austin would make a great Ben grim

My picks are all different than yours, but this one's a LOT more original than anything I've ever seen so far, so thumbs up for that! Originality in Fan Fic's is so rare today it should be greatly appreciated.

Aside of the originality, I think your cast is great, too. I've never seen the performances of your Reed and Sue picks, but that's a good thing, because I can regard them as "unknowns," sort of. (I have this belief that such actors work like charm in CBM's.) But, they sure look for the role, and...damn, Katrina Bowden is one fine lady.

Barnes, I think, can work as Johnny. As for Ben, I think he should be around the same age to Reed (remember, he's Reed's college buddy), and I believe Willis is a little bit too old for that. For The Thing, though, he sure can nail it. (Try checking out Adam Baldwin for Ben, anyway.)

I'd LOVE to see Dujardin as Victor. Yes, he's a great actor, and seeing him taking such a turn by taking the role of a villain like Doom should be great. Plus, he has that looks that can easily fit Doom's initial charming face, IMO. Adding him to this kind of cast will be a wise move, I think, just so to add to the "star power" of the cast.

Overall, great cast. Terrific job.

In the Lee/Kirby series, Reed first met the immigrated Victor at the Empire State University, and the two were about to become roommates...before Victor almost immediately became disgusted of Reed, who claimed themselves to be very alike in terms of scientific intelligence. He then left Reed, only for Ben to replace his position as Reed's roommate. The two then became friends, et cetera.

I think I've also ever known that the two first met during the Vietnam War, or something, where Ben - a front-line soldier - acknowledged Reed as the guy who always stayed at the back, something like that. I don't exactly remember from which series that origin comes from, though. (I suspect it's also from Lee/Kirby's, but it's only mentioned once, as far as I remember.) Then again, it's from the 60's, or so, and such background I think won't work in a modern setting.

The "true" story behind the two's (make it three, if you count Victor) first meeting, to me, will always be the former one, as it comes from one of the first comic books that pulled me into the world of fandom. :)

Pace should be considered,if anyone has seen Pushing daisies or any of the movies he's been in they'll agree. For me (I apologize now for my actor ignorance as I'm bad with names),the actress from The Next 3days looks & feels the part. She can pull of fun & spontaneous & then dramatic.

As for Johnny Storm, Cam Giganted from Never Back Down can pull of Johnny's more Duchiest aspects. I'd have him next to a Pace & he is younger than this Sue.

Ben Grimm, cmon people, Donny Wahlberg deserves a role like this. He can pull off the basic Thing characteristics & his New York accent will work with the voice. Coz in my head that's how The Thing sounds,a gruff voice with that Bronx drawl.

Victor, is almost def gonna be an unknown/lesser known actor. I'm all for someone like Stuart Townsend taking the role. If you've watched LXG,he was prob the one reason to watch it anyway. Then again I also see him as the next Tony if RDJ retires the role, but that just me.

Marvel should get their property back now, imagine the verse with all in one roof...we would either see an Onslaught series or a World War Hulk spanning all the movies. Maybe that's just me.
