Have I stumbled on our Dr Strange?

I believe I have found the perfect man for Dr Strange!

I will be the first to admit I know very little about Dr Strange but I do know you need an actor with a great screen presence and talent to play the part of our mysterious hero. Looking through my TV guide yesterday I saw a small photo for a certain film due to air and everything fell into place. The film was the more recent Peter Pan and the actor people is Jason Isaacs.



I have seen him play many roles and much like Gary Oldman he has been understated but brilliant in each! People will know him from playing mainly villains, and he has recently been stepping up from background brilliance to an excellent main antagonizer. "The Patriot", "Harry Potter" and "Hook" are great examples of his acting talent and cunning that he displays on screen. I believe it is his chance to be the good guy!

God no!!! He sorta looks the part but as an actor I dont see him working as Strange! Hugh Laurie on the other hand...

i like it, i think it's a perfect cast. brilliant, mysterious, i say it should be done.

lee@ i understand that depp is a fantastic actor and can play every role that comes his way, in fact i agree with that concept. but i am getting sick of everyone casting him in every comicbook role they can think of. i.e. dr. strange, riddler, bout two years ago i remember alot of people wanting him for banner, joker, etc. next thing you know will have a depp lex luthor. and, i really don't see that. i think, imho, that the best role for him to play as a comic book character/hero would be the question.

I have always liked Isaacs, but he would be a far better Dr. Doom, or even Baron Mordo.

Sam Worthington will be Strange. But i'd love for Isaacs to go all "dormamu" on our asses :P

Holy Mary Mother Of God Shaman. Yes! His sinister self would be perfect for that! Or Mister Sinister, I'm still torn on him or Keith David, but I still lean towards Isaascs. The thing about David fro Sinister is his voice, Sinister with that voice would be scary as Hell, but to me Isaacs embodies Sinister, he has the manerisms, he has that contemptious look of disdain for those he considers lower than he, in his performances.

Isaacs would be great id say, as would Depp as would Laurie! I think they are all good choices.

THEHAWK - I know what your saying, Isaacs would be mind blowing in any of the mentioned roles. I went for Dr Strange as I'd like to see him on the other side of the moral fence. If not Strange then yes, I'd say Doom or Sinister.

LEE: Hugh Laurie for Captain America, lol!!! Seriously though, Hugh would make a great Mr. Fantastic or Doctor Strange! I just hate this guy above especially in the Potter films! Depp would be too camp for Strange in my opinion, it needs someone more mature in the role...or a younger actor such as SHAMAN's choice Sam Worthington as Depp just doesnt seem right for the part-i dont like him as an actor to be honest!

I like Liam Neison(spelling?) even better for Strange, though Depp would certainly suffice. Isaacs is an extremely amusing actor, how about he play the villain, Baron Mordo instead.

As for Isaac's for Sinister... I say, in the spirit of Sinister himself, we take genetic material from several actors to amalgamate the best traits, like the twisted grin of Keith David, Jason Isaac's ghostly eyes, Gary Oldman's classic voice, on the body of Christian Clark. Bam! A Sinister born for the screen steps out of the cloning vats!

@ BlackCat nowhere, you just make one and post it on your site under fan fic

@Myth, definitly keep David's voice, but with Oldman's underlying hint of maliciousness that he does so well. You know what now that I think of it Oldman's voice would be great! But keep Isaacs face, his gaze is peircing and scary as hell, I can't even watch the Patriot, and if I do I have to close my eyes during his scenes.

But alas THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

that dude with the cane reminds me of that evil guy from Stephen Kings Storm of the Century. Was there ever a follow up to that father trying to get his son back? Also I think Sam Niel should do it. But he's too old.

Scorpio: At one point, there were dozens of roles I would have died to see Sam Neil play, but alas, for he is too old now. HAWK, I couldn't agree more about Isaac's creepy, ghostly gaze.

He has an awesome ghostly gaze and I think it could work for Srange. I know I don't really know alot about his character but with Isaac's playing him he would look like the bad guy but be the good guy and I like the thought of that.

I give it to either Hugh LArie or Johnny Depp for Dr. Strange. They both have my vote!!!
