Again, if you have not read the description, there are SPOILERS.
Heavy Rain is a PS3 exclusive game that is about four people trying to find the Origami Killer, a man who kills children and puts an orchid on their chest and an origami in their hand.
The game dealt with mature problems in the world and also talks about the imperfection of life (more on that later). It has several combination of endings (there are multiple for each character), and that is determined through dialogue and the character’s actions. The characters can actually die in the game, but there will not be a “Game Over” screen, instead, the player will have to advance through the rest of the game not knowing the clues that the dead character would’ve gotten.
Fancast:
Ethan Mars: (Portrayed by Pascal Langdale)

Ethan Mars is one of the four main characters. His eldest son has been killed in a car accident a year before the events of the game, and his other son is the latest victim of the Origami Killer. After the death of his first son, he constantly had blackouts, and often woke up in random places after, like the middle of a road. I chose Pascal Langdale because he actually portrayed Ethan in the game, using motion capture. He had nailed the role once, and I believe he can do it again.
Scott Shelby: (Portrayed by Sam Douglas or Tom Wilkinson)
Scott Shelby is a private detective that is on the Origami Killer case. He used to be a cop, and has sufficient skill in firearms. I chose Sam Douglas because he was, like Pascal, the motion capture actor for the game. However, I also chose Tom Wilkinson because I have always pictured Scott a little older than what was in the game (40’s), and Tom has both the look and skills to portray a character like Scott.
Madison Paige: (Portrayed by Olivia Wilde)
Madison Paige is an insomniac journalist who aids Ethan along his journey to find his son. Madison ultimately falls in love with Ethan, and they marry in one of the endings. I chose Olivia Wilde as Madison because she has the skills necessary to portray such a complex character.
Norman Jayden: (Portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt)
Norman Jayden is a FBI agent sent to investigate the Origami Killer case. The FBI had given him the ARI, which is a Google Smart Glass style glasses, except that the glasses can analyze the clues found in crime scenes. Unfortunately, the usage of ARI led Norman Jayden to be addicted to a drug called “Tripocane.” I saw the casting of JGL on the internet some time before, and I thought that the choice was perfect. JGL is very much capable of playing a calm FBI agent who has a drug addiction. On a side note, I didn’t choose the actor from the game because of his accent.
Carter Blake: (Portrayed by Paul Blackthorne)
Carter Blake is (quote from Norman) “an unbalanced psychotic asshole.” He is stubborn, aggressive, and a violent cop who often breaks the laws himself. He had refused to let go of the fact that Ethan Mars is innocent, and could even have killed him in one of the endings. Paul Blackthorne has a similar role in Arrow, and he also has the same charisma coming out of him.
Choice of Director:
David Fincher or David Cage
David Fincher has made similar movies like Se7en and Zodiac, and David Cage made the game himself.
Story:
I want the story to basically follow the game, but change some parts of the ending. Madison and Ethan will move in to Lucas Kane’s apartment along with Ethan’s son, like the game’s best ending for the two characters. Norman will apprehend Scott (Origami Killer), and Scott will be brought to court, but a past victim’s mother will shoot Scott in the court. Norman will then be recognized as a hero, but then will be lost in his Tripocane addiction.
Thank you for reading my first fancast. My computer had an issue, so my picture sizes might be messed up. Sorry for the inconvenience!
