Justice League of America: 40’s and 50’s

Comic books have been around since the 1930’s. I recognize 1978 as the year of birth for the CBM. It all began with Superman. Now we have 2 or 3 CBM’s every summer and more in the years to come. CBM’s are big business now and it isn’t slowing down. What about all those years in between? Why wasn’t any CBM’s made in the 1940’s or 1950’s. There were plenty of talented actors in those old days. I wonder who would play some of our favorite heroes from that era.

Let’s see what the DC cinematic universe would look like back then. Remember this era is famous for its violent gangsters and classic musicals.

You got to admit these guys looked tough because they were tough and the women are more beautiful than just about any of the movie stars we got bouncing around Hollywood today. BEFORE YOU TELL ME THESE ARE OLD, LOOK AT THE WOMEN VERY CLOSE.

**Special bonus points if anyone can tell me what famous artist modeled some of these characters after these very actors.**

Wow, a very well done cast I have to say! Can't argue on any of the picks...well, probably Monroe could be a bit too big name for this, but whatever I guess. I think it could be better if you the images of the characters are also from the '50s era, though - I could swear that your Supergirl pick resembles the oldies Supergirl VERY much (don't have the image though), especially the curly hair. And talking that also, Tony Curtis will be a better fit for Robin rather than Nightwing (since I believe Nightwing was way too far from being created in those years). But whatever, very creative stuff, would love to see more of this kind from ya. :)

Thanks everyone! Alex Ross used Fred MacMurray and Gregory Peck as templates for his designs of Captain Marvel and Bruce Wayne in Kingdom Come. I thought i would be neat if the rest of DC was modeled aafter actors from the same period. After starting this, I think most of the characters were actually modeled from these actors or from this time. The characters were mostly created during this age and influences are always there. Look at Nick Fury in the Ultimate univesre, they told use the used Sam Jackson for Nick Fury!
I need to do some research on this because it became very interesting after looking at some of these guys. AND the ladies are drop dead gorgeous, even Lucille Ball.
We all know who inspired The Joker Character. Conrad Veidt "The Man Who Laughs"

@MaddMonkk
How about you do one where it's just Supes/Bats/WW and the JSA plus villains who were around during this time period? Now THAT would be a challenge.

I would actually peg James Cagney for Joker, but all around this is the most epic fancast EVER

Incredible Monkk, absolutely wonderful. Why not Errol Flynn for Arrow though? I mean, I'd love to see Gable as Ollie too.

@ager-I said it 3 times in the description "1940's and 1950's", 1959 is still the 50's, I did check it before I put him in there. I admit it's close but it still counts. Nice try.

It was Gabe mustache that made me pick him over Flynn, Scootie.

LOL! Perfect. How long ago does this facast take place, though? I'm thinking John Astin would've made a good Sinestro or Vandal Savage.
