Recently I've been pondering the thought that a MARVEL Horror genre movie would bring a bigger audience's attention and there for bringing more attention to the character and his comic book past, Therefor bringing more attention to the characters surrounding this character.
For those already lost -
A Luke Cage movie could include if not be about Heroes for Hire which would most likely be used to introduce characters such as Iron Fist and Misty Knight.
Luke Cage = Heroes for Hire = Iron Fist
Anyway I was thinking there are already horror movies that have been turned into comics such as:
Alien
Predator
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
So what about Comic characters being used as the setting of a horror movie,So heres a few examples I've thought of.
1.Venom
Now there has been talk for a while of a Venom movie which would involve Venom being an anti-hero but what if instead they gave venom a terrifying role killing people in a game of survival, While giving small reference to Spider-Man and it wouldn't be essential but maybe show Eddie Brock.
2.Morbius
Okay an easy one the Vampire is a classic horror movie character but Morbius isn't a classic vampire and the spiderman villain could be remembered by those that watched the animated series but have never picked up a comic in their lives, An interesting story and wouldn't really need an origin story, Just plenty of Thrills and chills.
3.Sabertooth
Okay so Sabertooth Mr.Victor Creed may not be your first in the list of Horror Movie characters but he's a monster in his own right, He viciously kills and tortures people to get to others and for fun.
Now how many times has a so called horror movie came out about some random man killing people and people class the movie as scary? What if we got a movie of a killer that had powers and was very monster like yet still a man? Sabertooth's claws alone would make for a scary death scene.
4.The Wendigo
The mythical monster although there are stories about 'Wendigo' outside of MARVEL comics the Wendigo is a strong MARVEL comic monster, Now if you know the Wendigo history you'll know that the monster can take on the Hulk and would be a great way for MARVEL to make a horror movie in their own rights and not base it on a pack of MARVEL characters.
5.Mephisto
The Devil that is Mephisto could make a good horror movie villain with hell as his playground and demons under his control, It could be based on a character researching strange goings on only to find its Mephisto causing mayhem.
A couple of other characters that could be looked at in the Horror genre are:
Hydro-Man as well as Sand-Man - How scary could a man that can manipulate their bodies into deadly force be?
Ultron - Picture a Terminator style film hell they could include characters like Henry Pym in cameo roles but base the movies on unknown civilian characters trying to survive the horror of Ultrons wrath.
Kraven the Hunter - A mad man bent on hunting down a prey in the cuty... People!
