My finished fancast for the Spider-Man reboot.

NOW WITH MUSIC, MORE CHARACTERS, MORE DESCRIPTIONS, ALL IN STUNNING HD!!!

I made a video for it. I think I'll do this for all of my fancasts from now on. So back with the descriptions

Emile Hirsch as Peter Parker aka Spider Man(!)

He has the best credentials out of all the other candidates. He was in Girl Next Door, Lords of Dogtown, Alpha Dog, Into the Wild, Speed Racer, Milk, Taking Woodstock, and will even be playing the titular character in the upcoming movie adaptation of Hamlet! The guys young, good looking, can do funny and can do action. He can funny and smart alecky, but he can also be serious on an Oscar worthy level!

Jane Lynch as Aunt May

I was looking to pick someone who looked less frail, both physically and emotionally, than Rosemary Harris came across as in the movies. I guess I'm just saying that I'm looking for Ultimate Aunt May. I went with Jane Lynch because of her great tenacity and firmness on screen. Anyone who's seen Glee will know what I'm talking about.

Craig T. Nelson as Uncle Ben

He's very endearing in all of his movies, and I think that'd make him a great choice for Uncle Ben, even though it would only be sadder for viewers.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Jane Watson

As much as i liked Kirsten Dunst, I'm looking for someone younger, obviously, and one who has more experience in action oriented roles. Plus, MEW is a real knockout, the kind of girl that would make heads wheel around.

Hayden Pannatierre as Gwen Stacy

Yeah, yeah, I know. But what can I say? She's adorable, she's sweet, she's cute, she's Gwen. At least, she's SSM Gwen, which is IMO is the best thing to happen to the character in a long time. So why not? Sorry, Gwen, you're not gonna heal from THAT accident!

Kellan Lutz as Flash Thompson

kellan is a pretty cool guy, and is actually pretty damn funny in person. Plus, he has the typical high-school quarterback look.

Taylor Momsen as Sally Avril

She is quite a brat on Gossip Girl. Sally is a brat. Perfect fit.

Elijah Kelly as Randy Robertson

I loved this guy in Hairspray. He was so cool. Total Bro. That's the kinda guy that Randy is. Cool enough to hang out with the popular guys, but doesn't talk down to any one.

Demi Lovato as Liz Allen

Demi Lovato is a very spunky individual. She has plenty of talent for a girl her age and is more than capable of playing this kind of character.

Adam Brody as Harry Osborn

I went with Brody because he had a large female fanbase, which would play well with the tragedy of his character, and also because he knows better than many on how to play the role of "spoiled rich kid with a good heart" as shown on The OC.

Daran Norris as J. Jonah Jameson

While JK Simmons was perfect, I decided to go with the man who currently voices JJJ on the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. Sure he's not as old looking, but that's noting that a mustache, hair-dye and make-up can't fix!

Or Stephen Lang as JJJ

Stephen Lang was very imposing and intimidating in Avatar, and I'm sure he'll be getting tons of work after it. Why not have him play Spidey's most powerful "villain"?

David Allen Grier as Robbie Robertson

I find him to be very funny, and also very charismatic. I was basically looking for someone that could toe-to-toe with JJJ.

Gemma Arteton as Betty Brant

Despite her being in many action movies in which she plays stuck up/depressed/ or REVENGE!!! type characters, I wanted her for a more calm, sweet, and matter-of-fact type of character.

Diora Baird as Felicia Hardy

While she doesn't have as much experience in action roles as I would like, I think that this would give her a chance to really boost her career, as she really deserves it.

Dennis Quaid as Norman Osborn

I chose Dennis Quaid because not only does he have plenty of experience in the realm of action and sci-fi, but also because I almost never get to see him play the villain! I knew I wanted him after seeing him in GI: Joe, and thought that THAT was the kind of guy I could picture leading the Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers.

Philip Seymor Hoffman as Dr. Octopus

Well he won't be playing Penguin, but hey that means he's still available! While I would like to have him as more of the shy and passive Octavius that we saw in SSM, I think that his villainous side in MI3 was enough to give me a good sense of how well he'd do as Master Planner.

Ben Kingsley as The Vulture

Everyone's always givin' Vulture a bad rap! But I think that if we were to give him a great actor like Ben, and then give him the EPIC WIN of a suit that he had in Web Of Shadows, I bet his respectability level as a Spider-Man villain could sky rocket.

Gary Cole as The Lizard

Heeeeeey, Peter. Whaaaat's happenin'. I mainly picked him for the role of Curt Conners more than anything, as he definitely could play the nice guy professor that would be a great contrast to the savage, yet sympathetic, Lizard that he would become.

Adam Baldwin as Sandman

Church was an amazing Sandman, there's no denying. But I want this Sandman to be, while serious like the first one, just as capable of being dickish to Spidey as he normally is. Adam Baldwin is great for this, because not only can he be comical and funny like in Firefly, but can also be a determined antagonist like in Chuck!

Rainn Wilson as Mysterio

This one I had lots of fun with. I went with Rainn because he's excellent at playing dorky characters who think way too highly of themselves. I'm picturing Mysterio as some looked down upon nerd who acts all theatrical and menacing once hidden behind the disguise of the dome.

Timothy Olyphant as Scorpion

This has been considered a few times and so I just rolled with it. He can do both Evil Villain (Live Free or Die Hard), and he can do Antihero (Hitman). For the suit, I'd rather they use more along the lines of the suit used in the SM3 video game, which I've heard would be his movie suit anyway. I'd like for his character to be one that is subjugated to mind-control, and doesn't really like what he does.

John Cena as Rhino

He's large, he's loud, he's a big ol' muscle headed Obnoxiosaurus. He's perfect. The suit in question would probably be difficult to pull off, although they could probably go with either the suits from the SM2 or 3 video games.

Gerard Butler as Kraven the Hunter

I originally wanted Tom Hardy for this role, but I figure that going with Gerard Butler would probably bring in more people. Lord knows he can do "grizzly".

Damian Lewis as Electro

This one I actually was surprised with. I originally thought him up for Loki, but when he got officially cated, I kept him on the side until I replayed the PS1 game Enter Electro and then solidified my choice after reading the first part of The Gauntlet.

Woody Harrelson as Shocker

I really like thisone. This one came about from my love of the SSM version, where they decided that Montana would become the Shoker instead of Herman Schultz. Then after watching Woody kick zombie ass Wild West style in Zombieland, I considered them both, but never put the two together. When I saw someone else suggest it, it clicked.

Benicio Del Toro as Morbius

Benicio is an amazing actor. But he's not afraid to go crazy. I'm really pumped for The Wolfman and figured "Hey, if he can do a werewolf, he can do a vampire!" I also thought it would be playfully ironic.

Alexander Skarsgard as Hobgoblin

For the movie version of Hobgoblin, I had always liked the idea of the character originally being a spoiled head of a European weapons company who inherited it from his father and is running the business into the ground (Think Tony Stark, but doesn't deserve the position), and had wanted to buy the Globulin formula from Osborn to save his company, to which Osborn declines. So he has it stolen from Oscorp and in turn finds out about Norman's secret that he's the Green Goblin and decides to become the Hobgoblin blah blah. I don't really know why, but when I picture my version in my head, this picture ALWAYS pops up.

Vincent Cassel as the Chameleon

Vincent Cassel is one of the best villain actors I've seen in a while. Seriously, the guy can do such a good job at pretentious "You are beneath me" villains, and so I would love to see him play a character that makes mean comments of the people he disguises himself as.

Ryan Phillipe as Venom

Alot of people complained about Eddie Brock not being tough looking enough in Spidey 3 despite him being modeled after Ultimate Eddie, which I liked. So I decided that compromise is the best action. I went with someone who, while good looking, can be just as tough as the others, and I picked Ryan Pillipe for his roles in Flags of our Fathers, Crash, and Stop Loss. Hell, the guy could make a decent Cap!

Robert Knepper as Carnage

This guy is creeeeepy! He's just... I mean he looks like he could totally be a serial killer! Nuff said!

Well, that's it! Hope you like this!

Also, feel free to check out my other fancasts!

All of them are great...except for John Cena as Rhino. No good there. All the others ar great choices. Oh and your John Cena/Rhino pic is a duplicate of Olyphant/Scorpion

Great cast, but just because I love to argue and prove my point--Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dennis Quaid, and Gerard Butler have all previously been in comic book movies. If you don't recall what I'm talking about, it's the whole "Matthew Goode as Bullseye" thing.

Now, I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just find it sort of ironic and wanted to mention it. I apologize if by doing so I sound like a dick. but again, great cast.

I'd take Gyllenhaal over Mcguire and his "Emo Dance" action feature any day of the week, and I actually think Gary Cole as Conners, Dennis Quaid as Osborn, and Matt Dillon as Marko are all brilliant choices.

Good cast but John Cena is not tall enough for Rhino
nor has he any acting ability at all! Geez he's lame!
But where's the picture?

DDD @ Check out 12 ROUNDS CENA ain't that bad anymore, his MARINE days are over lol!

MOVIELAD @ HELL YES to Jake Gyllenhaal as SPIDER-MAN man!!!

Nice one, infact i like most of them, good work!!

Your best casting yet dude!
Ryden
Ryden - 1/8/2010, 2:37 AM
Although Gyllenhaal would make a good Spidey he looks far too much like Tobey, we need a fresh face…something new…Jim Sturgess for Spidey!!

Good Aunt May

Perfect MJ ;)

Not bad Gwen

Hmm not to sure if he’d make a good Harry, he’d make an alright Spidey but don’t know….

Interesting Jonah choice

Awesome Black Cat!!

I like the idea of Dennis Quaid as Gobby but John C McGinley is the perfect Stormin’ Norman

Nah don’t really like the ock choice

Good Vulture

Not bad Lizard

Great Sandman!

No to Campbell as Mysterio

Alright Scorpion

NONONONO to John “Block-head” Cena...the guy can’t act and I hate wrestlers in anything, Stephen Graham all the way

Perfect Kraven

Lewis would make a good Electro, but I prefer Kevin Bacon

That’s an A-Class casting there, perfect Shocker

Del Toro would be a great Morbius

HATE Purcell as Venom, he’s totally wrong for the role, Alexander Skarsgard all the way

And perfect Carnage.

A pretty good cast, I like most of them ;)

@MovieTheaterLad--eh, good enough explanation for me.

@Ryden--about McGinley, definately!! He's even got Osborn's hair, which I originally believed was impossible...

But about John Cena, I'm not a fan of his, but I don't really see why Rhino requires a Shakespearean actor.

LEEE777 - 1/8/2010, 3:33 AM
contrast @ Lol, when you think about it, he has RHINO's face!! ; D

MOVIELAD @ Its impossible to tell you without it turning into a LINK, best thing you can do, is do what i did, google links!!
Ryden
Ryden - 1/8/2010, 3:54 AM
@contrast- Yeah I know McGibley is perfect ;) But I'm not talking about an amazing performance but I still don't think Rhino should be played by a dumb brute (yes I know Rhino is a dumb brute) but the thing is I realised that Rhino actually had quite a bit of story to tell after reading "Flowers for Rhino" storyline, I thought it was treally well done and after that I felt that Rhino needs someone with talent to play him...Stephen Graham is a phenomonal actor and can play the part easily...
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 1/8/2010, 4:23 AM
RHINO should have a five minute cameo battling SPIDEY at the start of 4 or 5 and gets beaten!!

Great stuff! : P

LEEE777 - 1/8/2010, 4:26 AM
MOVIELAD @ WTF man????

Ive just put a thumbs up man and comments and you changed your [frick]ing VENOM pick???

@MovieTheaterLad--it's funny that I didn't even think about that one...but that's actually one I wholeheartedly agree with you on, for two reasons. 1.)While I have no problem with actors playing more than one hero (i.e. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool/ Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern), I DO have a problem with multiple same-universe characters being played by the same actor (as with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and as Hannable King). and 2.)Purcell, like Eva Longoria, is one of those actors that fans have attached to a character for no real reason, and people are unrelenting in their use of this "fan casting." In my opinion, Purcell MAY be decent enough to pull off Venom, but I don't see him as Brock at all.
Ryden
Ryden - 1/8/2010, 5:27 AM
@MTL- I wasn't meaning he should be sympathetic I just meant he could be more than just a brute..aslo nice Venom pick, better than Purcell anyway ;)
Superheromoviefan
Superheromoviefan - 1/8/2010, 6:11 AM
I don't like John Cena as Rhino, Philip Seymor Hoffman as Dr. Octopus, Woody Harrelson as Shocker.
I totally agree with all others.
DogsOfWar
DogsOfWar - 1/8/2010, 10:51 AM
Good picks MTL!

Cena can defo do Rhino-that does not require Juliard for the role. Like Leee said, he should have one fight scene and that would be it.

Don't like Brody pick. I can't see him pulling off the dark side of Harry
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 1/8/2010, 11:09 AM
MOVIELAD @ Forget BLADE 3 lol, it was sh1t!! : D

PURCELL is VENOM!!!

I take my hat off to ya for your morals, i ain't got none lol! ; D

DOGS @ Very true man, CENA has the mug of RHINO too, i like DURRAND for the role too, but i reckon theres a better role than a five minute one for the guy, CENA would do pretty well, he actually reminds me of RHINO when i see him acting lol!

: D

Damn my 'H' Buttons [frick]ing up lol.

InTylerWeTrust - 1/8/2010, 12:36 PM
Pretty decent cast.

Gyllenhaal is an okay choice for Spidey, but he does remind me too much of Tobey, and I think he looks a little too pretty boy-ish.

MEW is perfect for MJ

Interesting Gwen choice

Don't see Brody as Harry at all. He doesn't have the chops IMO.

Norris is a great choice for Jonah.

Baird isn't proven enough as an actress for me to support her as Black Cat.

Okay Norman choice, though I don't know how well he can do sinister mastermind.

Really like the Octopus choice.

Good Vulture choice.

Inspired choice for Lizard, but I think it works somehow.

Don't know about Sandman, he doesn't seem intimidating enough.

Yes to Mysterio and Scorpion.

No to Cena, I hate that guy.

Perfect Kraven.

Very interesting choice for Electro. I like it.

Liking Harrelsen as Shocker.

Yes to Morbius.

No to Philippe as Venom. He doesn't look anywhere near scary enough, and I really don't see him pulling off Venom's monstrous aspects. Alexander Skarsgard would be my pick.

Perfect Carnage.
ThunderCougarFalconBird
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 1/8/2010, 1:45 PM
Nice casting. Just a couple of back-up casts

Carnage = Robert Carlyle

Vulture = Pete Postlethwaite

Not bad, I like your choice for Spidey. I really really hate the idea of Rhino and Mysterio in the movies tho. I like them in the comics but neither have very good on-screen potential IMO.

For the villains in the first movie I personally want Shocker and Kingpin.
Love Woody Harrelson as Shocker and I think Laurence Fishburne would be amazing as Kingpin. What do you think?
Ryden
Ryden - 1/13/2010, 1:21 AM
I like your new Spidey choice, Hirsch is a good actor, watch Lords of Dogtown, its one of my fave movies...i can get behind him as Spidey

Just now it's either Joseph Gordon Levvit or Hirsch. ;)

Ryden: i also like Levitt!
i'm pretty sure they will try to get JK Simmons back as Jameson, he IS that role. no one else could play him.
Quaid would make an AMAZING osborne!
this is an awesome cast!
