I made a video for it. I think I'll do this for all of my fancasts from now on. So back with the descriptions
Emile Hirsch as Peter Parker aka Spider Man(!)
He has the best credentials out of all the other candidates. He was in Girl Next Door, Lords of Dogtown, Alpha Dog, Into the Wild, Speed Racer, Milk, Taking Woodstock, and will even be playing the titular character in the upcoming movie adaptation of Hamlet! The guys young, good looking, can do funny and can do action. He can funny and smart alecky, but he can also be serious on an Oscar worthy level!
Jane Lynch as Aunt May
I was looking to pick someone who looked less frail, both physically and emotionally, than Rosemary Harris came across as in the movies. I guess I'm just saying that I'm looking for Ultimate Aunt May. I went with Jane Lynch because of her great tenacity and firmness on screen. Anyone who's seen Glee will know what I'm talking about.
Craig T. Nelson as Uncle Ben
He's very endearing in all of his movies, and I think that'd make him a great choice for Uncle Ben, even though it would only be sadder for viewers.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Jane Watson
As much as i liked Kirsten Dunst, I'm looking for someone younger, obviously, and one who has more experience in action oriented roles. Plus, MEW is a real knockout, the kind of girl that would make heads wheel around.
Hayden Pannatierre as Gwen Stacy
Yeah, yeah, I know. But what can I say? She's adorable, she's sweet, she's cute, she's Gwen. At least, she's SSM Gwen, which is IMO is the best thing to happen to the character in a long time. So why not? Sorry, Gwen, you're not gonna heal from THAT accident!
Kellan Lutz as Flash Thompson
kellan is a pretty cool guy, and is actually pretty damn funny in person. Plus, he has the typical high-school quarterback look.
Taylor Momsen as Sally Avril
She is quite a brat on Gossip Girl. Sally is a brat. Perfect fit.
Elijah Kelly as Randy Robertson
I loved this guy in Hairspray. He was so cool. Total Bro. That's the kinda guy that Randy is. Cool enough to hang out with the popular guys, but doesn't talk down to any one.
Demi Lovato as Liz Allen
Demi Lovato is a very spunky individual. She has plenty of talent for a girl her age and is more than capable of playing this kind of character.
Adam Brody as Harry Osborn
I went with Brody because he had a large female fanbase, which would play well with the tragedy of his character, and also because he knows better than many on how to play the role of "spoiled rich kid with a good heart" as shown on The OC.
Daran Norris as J. Jonah Jameson
While JK Simmons was perfect, I decided to go with the man who currently voices JJJ on the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. Sure he's not as old looking, but that's noting that a mustache, hair-dye and make-up can't fix!
Or Stephen Lang as JJJ
Stephen Lang was very imposing and intimidating in Avatar, and I'm sure he'll be getting tons of work after it. Why not have him play Spidey's most powerful "villain"?
David Allen Grier as Robbie Robertson
I find him to be very funny, and also very charismatic. I was basically looking for someone that could toe-to-toe with JJJ.
Gemma Arteton as Betty Brant
Despite her being in many action movies in which she plays stuck up/depressed/ or REVENGE!!! type characters, I wanted her for a more calm, sweet, and matter-of-fact type of character.
Diora Baird as Felicia Hardy
While she doesn't have as much experience in action roles as I would like, I think that this would give her a chance to really boost her career, as she really deserves it.
Dennis Quaid as Norman Osborn
I chose Dennis Quaid because not only does he have plenty of experience in the realm of action and sci-fi, but also because I almost never get to see him play the villain! I knew I wanted him after seeing him in GI: Joe, and thought that THAT was the kind of guy I could picture leading the Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers.
Philip Seymor Hoffman as Dr. Octopus
Well he won't be playing Penguin, but hey that means he's still available! While I would like to have him as more of the shy and passive Octavius that we saw in SSM, I think that his villainous side in MI3 was enough to give me a good sense of how well he'd do as Master Planner.
Ben Kingsley as The Vulture
Everyone's always givin' Vulture a bad rap! But I think that if we were to give him a great actor like Ben, and then give him the EPIC WIN of a suit that he had in Web Of Shadows, I bet his respectability level as a Spider-Man villain could sky rocket.
Gary Cole as The Lizard
Heeeeeey, Peter. Whaaaat's happenin'. I mainly picked him for the role of Curt Conners more than anything, as he definitely could play the nice guy professor that would be a great contrast to the savage, yet sympathetic, Lizard that he would become.
Adam Baldwin as Sandman
Church was an amazing Sandman, there's no denying. But I want this Sandman to be, while serious like the first one, just as capable of being dickish to Spidey as he normally is. Adam Baldwin is great for this, because not only can he be comical and funny like in Firefly, but can also be a determined antagonist like in Chuck!
Rainn Wilson as Mysterio
This one I had lots of fun with. I went with Rainn because he's excellent at playing dorky characters who think way too highly of themselves. I'm picturing Mysterio as some looked down upon nerd who acts all theatrical and menacing once hidden behind the disguise of the dome.
Timothy Olyphant as Scorpion
This has been considered a few times and so I just rolled with it. He can do both Evil Villain (Live Free or Die Hard), and he can do Antihero (Hitman). For the suit, I'd rather they use more along the lines of the suit used in the SM3 video game, which I've heard would be his movie suit anyway. I'd like for his character to be one that is subjugated to mind-control, and doesn't really like what he does.
John Cena as Rhino
He's large, he's loud, he's a big ol' muscle headed Obnoxiosaurus. He's perfect. The suit in question would probably be difficult to pull off, although they could probably go with either the suits from the SM2 or 3 video games.
Gerard Butler as Kraven the Hunter
I originally wanted Tom Hardy for this role, but I figure that going with Gerard Butler would probably bring in more people. Lord knows he can do "grizzly".
Damian Lewis as Electro
This one I actually was surprised with. I originally thought him up for Loki, but when he got officially cated, I kept him on the side until I replayed the PS1 game Enter Electro and then solidified my choice after reading the first part of The Gauntlet.
Woody Harrelson as Shocker
I really like thisone. This one came about from my love of the SSM version, where they decided that Montana would become the Shoker instead of Herman Schultz. Then after watching Woody kick zombie ass Wild West style in Zombieland, I considered them both, but never put the two together. When I saw someone else suggest it, it clicked.
Benicio Del Toro as Morbius
Benicio is an amazing actor. But he's not afraid to go crazy. I'm really pumped for The Wolfman and figured "Hey, if he can do a werewolf, he can do a vampire!" I also thought it would be playfully ironic.
Alexander Skarsgard as Hobgoblin
For the movie version of Hobgoblin, I had always liked the idea of the character originally being a spoiled head of a European weapons company who inherited it from his father and is running the business into the ground (Think Tony Stark, but doesn't deserve the position), and had wanted to buy the Globulin formula from Osborn to save his company, to which Osborn declines. So he has it stolen from Oscorp and in turn finds out about Norman's secret that he's the Green Goblin and decides to become the Hobgoblin blah blah. I don't really know why, but when I picture my version in my head, this picture ALWAYS pops up.
Vincent Cassel as the Chameleon
Vincent Cassel is one of the best villain actors I've seen in a while. Seriously, the guy can do such a good job at pretentious "You are beneath me" villains, and so I would love to see him play a character that makes mean comments of the people he disguises himself as.
Ryan Phillipe as Venom
Alot of people complained about Eddie Brock not being tough looking enough in Spidey 3 despite him being modeled after Ultimate Eddie, which I liked. So I decided that compromise is the best action. I went with someone who, while good looking, can be just as tough as the others, and I picked Ryan Pillipe for his roles in Flags of our Fathers, Crash, and Stop Loss. Hell, the guy could make a decent Cap!
Robert Knepper as Carnage
This guy is creeeeepy! He's just... I mean he looks like he could totally be a serial killer! Nuff said!
Well, that's it! Hope you like this!
