Potential PG-13 film in the works for the Power Rangers?

While the first Power Rangers i ever saw was Power Rangers in Space i though it was awesome but now looking back on it i think it was so cheesy, so that being said a PG-13 film of the Power Rangers will happen, will you go see it i mean common it would be an awesome movie imagine a good story and a dramatic story like having a Ranger die or there master die or something like that, a S*it scar villain like the one from Dino Thunder (the best series), or even a much more menacing version of Lord Z would be cool, and a lot and i mean a lot of swearing i mean they will be teenagers with a lot of attitude so you have to make them swear and have problems like being in love with a chick that does not even know the guy exists and then she could become one of the Rangers. and then we get to the good part hire some hot women to play the pink and yellow Ranger, someone like Emma Roberts or Lyndsy Fonseca. Hopefully they could land a awesome director like Sam Raimi or Steven Speilberg if he lives that long. And i know Michael Bay would be all over this franchise and he would do a good first film and then stuff up the rest of the series, Bay would do this for many reasons he could explode anything he wants and even when the Rangers get hit instead of blood explosions come out of them.

So what do you say Yes or Nay to a Power Rangers PG-13 Movie.

Unfortunately, the best version was the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" (Seasons 1 - 3), and they already made a kick ass movie. It may be cheesy as hell, but I still bust it out occasionally on DVD (at the age of 25).

dino thunder the best?! you crazy man. seabz said it best. after the original show and turning 12 they all sucked. but i will agree that a new movie has potential to be really cool but also downright stupid.

This makes no sense to me.Why would you take a kids' franchise and turn it into something that's not for kids? These things aren't meant to age with us or entertain us when we get older. They're supposed to do that for us when we're kids and then for the next generation and so on.

If you make it something for older teens/adults, then it's not Power Rangers anymore. It's something else.

The franchise was outrageously popular/successful in it's original incarnation. Why would you change it?

It's like they're trying to pull a Transformers. It was a show I watched when I was a kid that became a live action movie full of off color humor and innuendos that I wouldn't take my kids/nieces/nephews to see.

And who is the target? Are they angling for the nostalgia factor? For the current adults who watched it as kids in the 90s?I don't think that works, as a PG-13 version wouldn't really be reminiscent of what we saw back in the day.

Is the younger kids/teens who watched it over the last decade? That also doesn't work, because it's still nothing like what they're used to seeing.

Anyway, if they do make this, I will go and see it, but it always irks me when they take a kids' program that was successful because it was a kids' program and try to revisit it years later, but aimed at those who saw it as kids, as opposed to aiming it at those who are currently kids.Changing the formula of what made it popular in the first place to appeal to adults who loved it as kids..

End rant.

This article is so shit. The headline is misleading. You get a hard-on for Michael Bay. You're movie idea is so bad. Please stop.

The Power Rangers and toilet paper have something in common; neither one needs to EVER be gritty. The biggest difference between the two is that toilet paper actually serves a purpose and people want it around.

I've been saying this for years, make it a war movie about ARMY RANGERS but the BEST of them and put them all in a team

NEVER say Power Rangers but just call them RANGERS

MAKE IT A DARK, BLOODY, WAR MOVIE

I agree because i think if they can pull off the Transformers trilogy, two G.I.Joe films, Ninja Turtles and i heard of a Voltron movie coming further down the track i think a Power Rangers movie is quite possible
