Set Five years before the tragic events of August 18, 1973... This is the tale of a Southern Texas family known as the Sawyers. The dysfunctional family take on the newcomers to the Texas Badlands with the intent on having them for dinner.
Yeah I know it's Kinda Crazy, most people I know seem to hate Duck Dynasty, and others love it. Their family dynamic is something i'd loved to parody in this series. The more deranged and backwoods Sawyer would be an excellent metaphorical riff on the Robinson family and their cash in show. But this is still tied to the Texas Chain Saw Massacre, so the character driven horror of the Walking Dead is what must come first.
Together it allows for a black comedic horror show, Something very much like the Original Film. This series is set 5 or 6 years before and therefore leads up to the events but it's not an origin story. It's a story of character and situation with established characters. It has the Potential to be a high rated macabre series that both honors and successfully carries the horror mantle established by the original film, and the dark remake and prequel. It's a show with established ties that would definitely draw in a crowd looking for a bloody good time.
Showrunner: Head writer, and executive producer of the show. The Position is coveted for someone to carry out a particular main storyline and keep everything on schedule and in order.
Eric Kripke [Notable Works: Boogeyman, Supernatural, Revolution]: He created the dynamic Supernatural. He's well established in the horror and television drama. If anyone could take this simple vision for a T.V. Series and bring it to light Kripke is on that list.
Series Composer: The voice that introduces the Audience to the series, setting exposition and mood for the episodes or series.
Ramin Djawardi [Notable Works: Pacific Rim, Fright Night, Prison Break]: I love his work on Fright Night. He gave hte remake it's own theme that really really stuck. He's a fantastic composer and has worked on limited run television series before.
Narrator: The voice that introduces the Audience to the series, setting exposition and mood for the episodes or series. Added due to the film series knack of having an opening or closing narration in the films.
John Larroquette [Notable Works: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning]: He's narrated several films in the franchise. He's got a wonderful voice and as mentioned is a staple of the Franchise.
Jedidiah "Jed" "Bubba" Sawyer/Leatherface [Height: 6' 5", Age: 30's]: The Famed Leatherface, butcher, Grave Robber, and local Texan with an attitude and a severe learning difficulty. He is a powerhouse of muscle who's trademark is using human faces as masks to express his inner character. He's forced to take his masks off and work at the Family Diner/Gas Station, after being laid off by the Meat Factory. He works in the back away from customers.
Ryan Hurst [Height: 6' 4", Age: 37, Notable Works: Sons of Anarchy, Saving Private Ryan, King & Maxwell]: Ryan was on a short list, I know he'd never do this role. He's perfect. He's got the height and talent, and Honestly I don't want the role to be filled with the Stunt actor. He's a fantastic actor and would definitely perfect the role.
Drayton Sawyer [Height: 5' 11", Age: 50's]: The Unofficial head of the house. Owning the Gas station/Diner known as the "Last Chance" and Eldest Brother to Leatherface. All but raised by his grandfather, he is very abusive and very unstable. He is as loyal to family as Jed, but also aware of his place.
Jackie Earle Haley [Height: 5' 5", Age: 52, Notable Works: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Little Children, Watchmen]: Jackie is just the all around perfect choice. He is who I envisioned would play this role. He's got the look, the attitude and the appropriate background for it. He would be perfect.
Grandpa Tom Sawyer [Height: N/A, Age: 90's-100's]: The Official Household of the Sawyer family. An aged former slaughterhouse worker, he had turned the family to cannibalism, and had maintained a macabre place as the head of the household. He is practically invalid, and requires upkeep but is vocal about how the family should work together.
John Dugan [Height: N/A, Age: 74, Notable Works: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Texas Chainsaw 3D, Monstrosity]: He originated the role and certainly showed the interest in reprising the role by returning in the 2013 sequel "Texas Chainsaw"
Edwin "Nubbins" Sawyer [Height: 6' 2", Age: 30's]: The Unstable psycopathic brother to Leatherface and Drayton. He attempts to seen as a more important member of the family but is bumbling and believed to be schizophrenic. He has a macabre sense of humor, and often takes Jed out for insane pranks and trouble, such as grave robbery.
Michael Rosenbaum [Height: 6' 1", Age: 41, Notable Works: Breaking In, Smallville, Justice League]: Mike has never really played a character this unstable and I think that would be a treat and really give a dynamic performance. He's got the talent for this role.
Lorretta Sissy Sawyer [Height: 5' 4", Age: 20's-30's]: Jed's youngest sister, whom he is insanely protective of. She dates around and strays from the family's "christian" values, but works at the Diner with her brothers.
Danielle Harris [Height: 5' 0", Age: 36, Notable Works: Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Meyers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Meyers, Halloween]: I love Danielle she is a wonderful and sweet actress. She would absolutely fit in this role. She's got character to her and her horror background would be an amazing together with this ensemble.
Darla Anne Sawyer [Height: 5' 4", Age: 40's]: Inspired by the character Darla Slaughter from the worst entry in the franchise. This version, Darla is Leatherface's Eldest sister. She is very protective of him because of his condition and this brings her to odds with her older brother Drayton. The two almost hate each other but because they're family they stay together. She is very caring individual and like the rest of the clan, works at the "Last Chance." She is the closest thing the family has to a voice of reason.
Julie Benz [Height: 5' 4", Age: 41, Notable Works: Boondock Saints II, Dexter, Punisher War Zone]: Julie is such a kind actress. She's a wonderful person and such an intelligent actress that I really had to create a role for her. I knew I wanted her in this cast. She's absolutely wonderful and perfect for this role.
Sheriff William Enright [Height: 5' 9", Age: 40's-50's]: Inspired by the Dennis Hopper Character in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Suspicious of the Sawyer clan since the disappearance of former Sheriff and friend Winston Hoyt. He is determined to bring the Sawyer family in or see them die.
David Morrissey [Height: 6' 3", Age: 49, Notable Works: One Summer, State of Play, The Walking Dead]: Morrissey's turn as the Governor was 100% the inspiration for this. I'd like him to play a more heroic version of that with this role. He's a great actor and does a wonderful job whenever he appears onscreen. He is who I envisioned when I put this together.
Debuty Thomas Hooper [Height: 6' 3", Age: 30's-40's]: Deputy and close partner to Sheriff Enright. He often turns a blind eye to the Sawyer when they help take out the local trash. But he would be the first to bring them in when it becomes a necessity.
Omar Epps [Height: 5' 10", Age: 40, Notable Works: House M.D., Juice, Draula 2000]: I like Omar. He's a talented guy and is really fun to put in cast. He does wonderful performances, He's no stranger to horror, and he is no stranger to a weekly format provided by t.v. He's a great actor and would do wonderful.
