These Are My Opinions On What Actors Could Make The Superman Reboot Really Work And Who Should Get The Lead.

There's been alot of buzz over what actors and what direction the new Superman movie should go in... here is my opinion. First of all go back to the bright red, yellow and blue costume. The off purple boots suck in the last flick. Second of all Superman needs some social drama in his life... it was way too boring in the last couple movies when he was Clark Kent. This movie needs a touch of Smallville in it. Why do you think Smallville is working on it's 200th episode when the movie franchise can't go back to back. He needs friends and a social setting to make Clark Kent seem a little bit more human, some regular criminals and more SUPER VILLIANS to add to the excitement. I think you need a young actor, fresh blood if you will to attract a younger crowd but still please the classic Superman fans. You do this by finding an actor who not only looks like Superman but can take the character somewhere different.



Sean Faris definitly should be Superman if there is a Hollywood God. Love interest Lois Lane should play a huge part in the movie... she should be not only bright spot in Clark Kents life but one in the whole movie.

I think the movie needs more than one super villian... one is a pain in Superman's ass and the other is a major threat to the whole planet. I think you need a more evil, more gritty Lex Luthor, less suit and tie, and more hand guns and bank robbing, you need a great actor that can get low down and dirty and still be sharp with his mind... Vin Diesel.

In the mist of battling Lex Luthor here comes the world crisis only Superman can stop a foe this powerful. Dark Seid who threatens to take over the whole planet... you need an actor who can be big, mean, and powerful enough to even scare Superman.

Maybe now Superman can actually throw a punch at someone just as powerful. The fight scenes would be CRAZY! I mean tear up a whole city. In closing how can you have the most powerful superhuman on earth and keep making the most boring movie ever. Is it just me or do you fall asleep watching it too? Sean Faris is going to be the big star... faster than a speeding bullet!!!!!

Wow Gab this is another amazing editorial. I see each one of these people playing these parts. You have a real eye for detail. I think that this is the best actor pick I have seen as far as Superman goes!!! I mean Vin Diesel as Lex lol he looks just like him. Lex Luthor is supposed to be hard, he ain't no suit and tie type of dude like you said he is a regular man and Superman still can't handle him. They got Lex riding on Yaht's drinking Wine with an Ascot! Anyways good job Gab!

And never liked MCD as DARKSEID, really DARKSEID should be CGI and not a guy painted grey! : P

@anil Rickly Routh wasn't the best actor when he got the role! before SUPERMAN name his best work! I think Sean is ready now! Fox to me would be perfect!she looks like Lois Lane, she is young and could still turn out to be a big star! Vin couldn't do any worse then Kevin did!! Wow everyone is talking about these actors acting skills... Let's see would you rather have a well trained thespain who over acts and looks nothing like the character or an actor that looks the part and can learn how to act the comic book role! I mean let's be serious do you want Julia Louis-Dreyfus to play Louis Lane or i'll do you one better Tina Fey to play her. Or Bill O'Rielly as Superman. Ok you all act like Angelina Jolie was the best actress...she had to learn on the job did you see her acting in Hackers? So lol you all are simple minded no one wants to see these old actors playing these super heroes. Leave it up to you and this movie would look like an episode of Seinfeld. LOL Cast that old ass Sylvester Stallone as Superman! And I know why you don't want Vin Diesel to play Lex Luthor but let's not get into all that!!!

I guess some of these fanboys been pretending to be Superman for 30 year they want someone who looks like them. I go on all these sites and these people pick actors who don't even look close to superman some are buff, some have been around longer but in terms of looks Sean Faris beat em all at Superman. And what's sad is they all scream for actors that can't even get a superhero job. It's either Chris Pine, or Jensen Ackles the worlds greatest two actors. That is so sad. Get some vision!

Fox and Diesel seriously SUCK as major roles.

Wow, way to pick polar extremes there FirstLady. I'd vote for neither of those, thank you. I'd go with a semi-known actor who has a decent resemblance to the character, mature looks, decent physique, good height, and who can nail the part, hands down. Faris looks too young and does not have the gravitas or screen presence that this role requires. If you want to take a chance and cast someone like Channing Tatum just because he could maybe "learn how to act" then go ahead. I'd rather go with someone who has proven acting credentials, there are plenty of them out there. It boggles my mind how much I see people put physical resemblance as the top priority over acting. You act as if it's a guarantee that the person who hasn't shown that they can handle a role like this will knock it out of the park. Guess what, they could fail miserably and this is NOT the movie to risk that on.

Acting ALWAYS takes top priority. Always. If the person looks the part but can't sell it for shit, then what's the god damn point?

One worked on a soap opera. Dean Kane wasn't well known, why did they pick him. Oh and Routh did such a great job that's why they had success with the last movie... Oh wait that's right they didn't! And your description of Lois proves that you don't know what you're talking about and that you don't care if this movie has any quality to it. You could say the same thing about every other character in comics. Spider-Man: A nerd who shoots webs from his wrists. Batman: a man who dresses up like a bat and scares people. Joker: a clown who commits crimes and laughs a lot. Does that make it any less important to find the right actor/actress for the part who can nail the performance, and does it diminish the importance of the character? No and no. ACTING ALWAYS COMES FIRST. And I wasn't suggesting Channing Tatum for Superman. Read carefully, it helps. I was saying that, from the way you flat out don't care if an actor can act or not, then you might as well just get Tatum.

She's not going out for wonderwoman though some people believe she was good enough to do so like the writers for wonderwoman. You should take your own advice and read carefully! p.s. as memory serves me justice clark kent didn't look old he only look older because he had those glasses on as a coverup, but when he turned into superman he looked like a young lad! Superman doesn't have wrinkles! A gut and gray hair!! That's mature for your ass! Mature is also a action you can look young a be very mature as long as Superman takes out the trash and gets to work on time that makes him mature! I don't know if Bale's going to be in that, but the next Superman should be able to compare to Bale, at least. Superman is the leader of the Justice League, and, as such, has to look like a man amongst men in regards to the other Leaguers. Compared to Bale and Reynolds, Faris just doesn't hold up. He looks too young, and his acting does not compare either. I don't think it's a bad idea because I didn't think of it first. I've seen other people before suggest him, and it's still the same thing for them as it is for you: Faris is not Superman material. My pick is Alexander Skarsgard. 6'4", decent build, strong jaw, MASCULINE and MANLY looks, and an excellent actor. You'll google him and say he looks shit for the part, but he doesn't. A make up team (that is a standard in film production) to cover the eye bags, give him black hair dye and he's a great fit for the part.

This is the same guy that tried out for every super hero role you can think of and got turned down. No Thanks. He wanted to be Thor, Captain America just to name a few. This is Hollywood nothing about him is going to draw any group of people to the movie theaters he doesn't have the look or any looks for that matter. He's old no one would consider him hot as an actor or as a person and for good reason super hero movies don't use him. Not as a lead. If they do another Rocky movie with the Russian he could play the Russian. Or Larry Bird in an up and coming movie. What's killing me is how can you look at Sean Faris and not see Superman with all the similarties they have in common but look at this guy and name 50 things they would have to do to him just so he can look the part. Your girl must like Sean Faris cause you trippin' dude. Can you name the reasons... look wise other than you don't like his babyface why you think sean doesn't look like Superman. If I was directing the movie and Skarsgard walked in I would have him arrested. I would say you look nothing like the part I know your not here to try out. That guy doesn't have any charisma or nothing. Or star factor. And when you see it you know it that's why he keeps getting turned down...he hasn't got it!

I see you're a fan of hyperbole. They'd have to cover up his eye bags and give him hair dye. That's it. Don't over exaggerate things. There really isn't much to say on why I don't like Faris' look. He doesn't look masculine or imposing enough for my taste. It's as simple as that. I prefer the next Superman to look powerful and masculine, and Faris doesn't cut it for me.

Have you ever seen him act? I really doubt it. He has a boat load of more charisma and range than Faris does.

@Intylerwetrust these guys are trying to sell this movie. How many men or women are going to run to the movies to see him, star power does matter. You don't have to be a star to have star power. Youtube sean faris see what people say youtube the other guy and see what people say in general don't mention superman complete different reactions. As far as Rugged looks Routh didn't look rugged or reed or Kane. But they thought they had star power. If you think they don't want Superman to be a Pretty Boy in this new movie then you might as well not go and watch it because they are trying to sell the movie.

When they cast they have a target audience in mind what's hot right now, what are the age groups and whose buying the product. I hate to say it but they don't think about the purest they think who is gonna draw people to see the movie whom otherwise wouldn't give a shit about superman. Why do you think they put cute kids on commericals? Why do superhero's in movies take their shirts off. It's not to please you. The younger generation wants young people people they can relate to... look at Twilight. They aren't the best actors but the dollars come in.
