First of all, finding a new Spider-Man will be very difficult. Why? Because the fact is, there aren’t ANY actors out there who can pull off the smart ass / nerd / serious hero all at once. There aren’t. At least there aren’t any teen actors. Shame…
Second of all, the exact same studio isn’t gonna want to tell the same story again. So you can bet that the new Spidey is gonna be really different. Odds are, reviews are gonna be pretty much split in half.
Thirdly, the first villain(s) probably (and shouldn't be) too unrealistic. Yes, I know, Spider-Man himself is pretty far fetched, but we should be able to see him grow as a hero and take on increasingly difficult villains rather than throwing in the toughest badass on the roster first outing.
(My idea: First 1/4th of the movie should be The Enforcers to warm up. Next 1/2 of the movie should be Vulture/Building up Shocker. And Last 1/4th of the movie should be Spidey vs. Vulture vs. Shocker, with Chameleon coming in at the last second to help Spidey win, but dies in the process; developing a Kraven the Hunter story line for a future movie.) So anyways, let’s get started.
The actors will have a brief bio on their character in the new Spider-Man movie. (Which we have to realize is pretty much written and set in stone. So ‘petitioning’ or ‘lobbying’ for villains is useless at this point.)
Peter Parker / Spider-Man: Ricky Ullman (Phil of the Future TV Series)
If you’ve seen him act and can look past the kids show he was on, he was very natural and mature. He has great comedic timing and I think he has it in him to step up and be a hero.
Gwen Stacy: Dakota Fanning (Twilight: New Moon, The Runaways)
Don’t worry, she dies in the sequel anyways.
Harry Osbourne: Anton Yelchin (Star Trek, Alpha Dog)
This guy is gonna be around a long time. He could easily play a kid struggling to fit in and even…experiment with drugs. (Or even serum!!!)
Tombstone: Terry Crews (The Dark Knight, Everybody Hates Chris)
My idea is to have one solid semi-villain who sort of runs the super villain show in town. He hires The Enforcers and then Vulture to take care of his number one competition: Spider-Man!
Montana/Shocker – Chris Pine (Star Trek, Smokin’ Aces)
Watch him in Smokin’ Aces and you’ll know why I chose him.
Fancy Dan – Kevin Dillon (‘Entourage’ TV Series)
Johnny Drama is just a smooth talking, old fashioned guy. He could easily play a wicked gangster.
Ox – John Leguizamo (Spawn, The Happening)
Did you know that he was the fat guy in Spawn? It’s true. Look it up.
Adrian Toomes/Vulture – Sir Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island, The Whackness)
This role was actually planned for Spider-Man 4. Directly from Sam Raimi’s mouth on the Spider-Man 3 DVD commentary.
Chameleon – Tommy Flanagan (Sin City, Smokin’ Aces)
This guy can play a sneaky hit man, trust me.
Aunt May – Jane Lynch (The 40 Year Old Virgin, Role Models)
Why her? She’s so…outrageous! Exactly. I’m sick of the overly sweet Aunt May/Peter scenes from Spider-Man 1-3. Now that he’s in high school, Peter has no real problems! (That she knows about!) So Aunt May should be able to bust his balls and stuff. It’d be a refreshing new take on Aunt May.
J. Jonah Jameson – Will Arnett (Blades of Glory, Semi-Pro)
I even got a picture of him with a moustache. And that voice!? Perfect!!!
Betty Brant – Zooey Deschanel (Yes Man, 500 Days of Summer)
The very sweet and pretty girl next door who’s just a little too old for Peter :(
Robbie – Stanley Hudson (The Office TV Series)
If you put Stanley from The Office and Will Arnett together…hold on to your sides, cause they’re gonna split!
Flash Thompson – Jonathan B. Wright (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Youth in Revolt)
Every high school movie needs a strong jawed, dumb jock.
Stay tuned, true believers for my Fan Cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2...
