Why would they remake the original Star Wars Trilogy in whole as perfect as it is? Maybe to re-tell a story anew towards today's audience. And if it ever happened who would be able to fill the shoes of some of the most important roles? This is my fan cast for if they ever decided to remake the original Star Wars trilogy. Note that I am only adding most of the main cast, most side characters I have ignored as there are many. And this is only for the original trilogy of films, not the prequel trilogy and nothing from the growing Star Wars comic book lore. So to begin with, every film needs a great director right?

Duncan Jones is a director with definite potential as he has already proven himself with great films such as Moon and Source Code. I would love to see him take on a Star Wars project in the future. He can craft an excellent story with not just the visuals being his strong point.

EDDIE REDMAYNE AS LUKE SKYWALKER
A great upcoming actor who has starred in films such as Les Miserables and was even considered for the Fantastic Four reboot. He definitely has the looks and acting skills to pass off like a young Mark Hamill was in the role many years ago.
EMILIA CLARKE AS PRINCESS LEIA
Amazing actress known mainly for her role in Game of Thrones. She has the definite talent for this role and I couldn't think of anyone else better to fit those shoes.
TOM HARDY AS HAN SOLO
A fan favorite among the comic book fan community, Tom Hardy is known for many great roles. A fine and skilled actor who can transform himself greatly (An example that comes in mind is his role as Bane). For the role of Han Solo you need a hotshot like him.
DJIMON HOUNSOU AS LANDO
A great actor much like the original Lando was. Djimon Hounsou is another fan favorite and he will greatly serve in this starring role. Set to star in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of The Galaxy, he is sure moving up in the ranks of Hollywood.
KEVIN SPACEY AS BEN OBI-WAN KENOBI
One of my favorite actors personally, Kevin Spacey is a veteran at his work. It would be interesting to see him in this type of role as Obi-Wan served a great purpose in Star Wars lore. There is no question about Spacey's own talents as he is already greatly immersed in acting.
ROBERT DOWNEY JR AS C-3PO
C-3PO is the robot with a heart. He shares a great amount of wit and humor, while being one of the best side characters to ever grace the big screen. I believe Robert Downey Jr can bring that amount of enthusiasm to the character of C-3PO. Known for Iron Man of course, this wouldn't be his first time being sort of a robot if he was chosen.
TARA STRONG AS THE VOICE OF R2-D2
Known for so many voice roles within animation I can't even begin to list. The most important attribute of R2-D2 is mainly is beeps and his signature screams which needs to sound authenticate. Which is why bringing in a veteran voice actor like her would work perfectly.
HUGH JACKMAN AS CHEWBACCA
No introduction needed for Hugh Jackman, another great actor also highly known in the comic book world for his role as Wolverine. I think Hugh Jackman has the personality to bring a one of the king wookie sidekick like Chewbacca to life on the big screen like none other. Mainly other than his signature growls the acting still needs to be maintained for the character.
COLIN FIRTH AS THE VOICE OF YODA
A fantastic actor with a great voice that would fit the character of Yoda perfectly. Yoda is important to the Star Wars lore of course and you need a voice to match to the old and wise age of what he truly represents.
MICHAEL FASSBENDER AS DARTH VADER
A fine actor who recently appeared in X-Men Days of Future Past. Darth Vader is one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe. As he would need to be played by a great experienced actor. Fassbender's role as Magneto really made me consider him for this amazing role.
JEREMY IRONS AS THE EMPEROR
Jeremy Irons is a fine veteran actor who is known highly in Hollywood. He would work perfectly as The Emperor and my only choice for this role.
