INT: CARGO PLANE HULL
Wilson along with twenty soldiers load into their pods. A technician engineer mans a master control panel displaying each pod’s go status. The officer manipulates the controls initiating the launch.
EXT: CARGO PLANE
From the planes bottom the pods fire toward the warship. Each pod has an engine at its’ top controlling its’ descent.
CUT TO:
As the pods prepare to breach a laser cannon emerges from its’ bottom.
INT: BRIDGE
Weapons Agent: “Eradicator is 75% power ready.”
Agent: “We’re tracking twenty targets coming in from above.”
Zod: “They know our shields are down hit them the torrents.”
CUT TO:
Torrents atop the warship come to life and begin firing on the pods taking down several.
CUT TO:
Wilson’s pod: “We’re gonna need some air support!”
As he finishes that statement Superman makes a pass taking out the several torrents with his eye lasers.
Wilson can barely see the flying figure as he speeds by.
Wilson: “That’s what I’m talking about! Breach in ten seconds!”
The pod’s lasers fire a single ray at the warship creating an opening. Each pod neatly drops into the hole.
INT: WARSHIP HALLWAY
Each man drops out of the pod drawing weapons scanning the hall. They are seeing alien inscriptions and technology never seen before.
Wilson: “We’ve got five minutes. Plant all the explosives you’ve got and we’re out of here.”
CUT TO:
Superman approaches the massive hover tanks dodging their massive energy blasts. He picks out one landing on top flattening it to the ground. He then picks up the tank throwing it toward two more destroying them. As quickly as he arrived Superman takes to the sky.
CUT TO:
Several Kryptonian jets speed after him. Superman takes notice and sky rockets in a directly vertical ascent. The jets pepper Superman with energy blasts but unable to obtain a hit. Superman comes to a sudden halt allowing the jets to pass straight by him. He begins pursing them blasting each jet out of the sky with his laser beam eyes. Has the firey debris falls around him he hears the people screaming. He speeds off into the scream’s direction.
EXT: WASHINGTON STREETS
Lois and Jimmy running in a crowd from the gunfire of a Kryptonian Jet with several people being vaporized. The crowd turns the corner to be met by a group of Black Zero Agents aiming guns. Superman flies directly through the jet destroying it followed by violently landing in the middle of the Agents. The powerful shockwave knocks the entire squadron off their feet.
Superman goes to the terrified crowd to find Lois on the ground.
Superman gestures for her hand: “Are you ok?”
Lois completely star struck takes his hand and stands up.
Lois: “Thank you.”
INT: WARSHIP
Wilson and his team scamper throughout the ship placing charges. They turn a corner and meet heavy gun fire knocking them back. Wilson’s team throws several grenades and flash bombs stunning the Agents. From behind they are hit with more gunfire killing a majority of Wilson’s team. Wilson along with several members leap into a side room for cover.
INT: BRIDGE
Weapons officer: “Eradicator is 100% on line.”
Zod: “Fire”
The weapons officer manipulates the console as the Eradicator emerges from the ship’s bow.
CUT TO:
Superman can hear the Eradicator preparing to fire directly over the Whitehouse. He speeds through the air toward it.
CUT TO:
In slow motion a beam begins to emerge from the Eradicator’s barrel. Just as the beam hits the Whitehouse Superman emerges between the two taking the shot directly. Struggling with all his might he is deflecting the beam away.
INT: BRIDGE
Zod: “What’s happening?!”
Weapons Agent: “I don’t know General the weapon is firing. Something is deflecting it.”
CUT TO:
Superman’s face shows that of extreme pain yet determination as he begins pushing the beam toward the warship.
CUT TO:
Freedom 3: “How is he doing this?”
CUT TO:
Kryptonian Jets begin firing on his position
CUT TO:
Freedom 3: “Give this guy some cover!”
Freedom: 7: “Copy that.”
What’s left of the F-22’s begin shooting down the distracted Kryptonian jets.
INT: BRIDGE
Zod: “More power!”
The weapons agent in a panic: “It’s full power!”
Zod’s face turns from the powerful leader to a hint of uncertainty.
INT: CORNER ROOM
Wilson and his dwindled team continue to take unrelenting fire.
Wilson: “Jetpacks operational?”
Team: “Good to go.”
Wilson points to the wall: “We’re gonna blast our way out of here.”
One of the team members fires a grenade launcher into the hallway scattering the Agents. With a moment of relief the team makes its way to the wall planting an explosive. The explosive goes off creating an exit. Wilson holds up a master detonator.
Wilson: “For freedom!”
Wilson presses the trigger and the team leaps out of the warship toward the ground. As the last soldier leaps from the ship he fires a bazooka missile, in midair, covering their exit.
The warship begins exploding in segments. Wilson and his team’s jetpacks allow them to speed off from the massive explosions.
CUT TO:
Tomahawk missiles tear through the sky above Washington taking down the remaining Kryptonian jets and tanks.
INT: AIRCRAFT CARRIER CONTROL ROOM
The room filled with anxious crewman.
Radar officer: “Targets are a hit Captain! The ground and sky are clear!”
The room erupts in applause.
INT: BRIDGE
Sparks and alarms sound has the entire ship begins to breakdown.
Agent: “Engines are out General. She’s not going to take much more.”
CUT TO:
Superman pushes the Eradicator’s blast higher and higher. With all his strength he shoves the beam back into the barrel igniting a massive explosion. The entire warship explodes into a mushroom cloud. The aftershock knocks the weakened Superman to the ground.
INT: WHITEHOUSE BUNKER
The room shakes as lights flicker on and off from the massive explosion.
President: “This is it.”
Luthor listens to his com through the static: “Come again?”
Luthor listens for another moment: “The warship has been destroyed!”
The entire room erupts into applause and cheer.
President: “What about Zod?”
EXT: WHITEHOUSE LAWN
Superman watches has the massive explosion tears through the sky. Out of nowhere a car slams into his back knocking him across the lawn.
Zod: “You should be wiser than to turn your back on me Kal-El.”
Zod’s uniform burned and torn from the explosion.
Superman gets back to his feet: “It’s over Zod you lost. There’s nothing more you can do.”
Zod walks toward Superman: “Oh I still have one task to complete.”
Zod fires lasers from his eyes that Superman deflects.
Superman: “If you will not leave this planet peacefully then I will see to it you never leave.”
Zod: “Bold statement for a human.”
Zod flies directly at Superman landing a punch to his face. As Zod prepares his second punch Superman counters with an uppercut and slams Zod to the ground. Superman picks up Zod and bolts toward the sky. The two warriors exchange blows at a lighting fast pace.
Zod: “We could rule this planet Kal-El. We are gods to them.”
Superman catches Zod’s punch: “I don’t want to rule them. I want to live among them.”
Superman breaks free of Zod’s grip and with a massive punch sends Zod plummeting into the street.
EXT: WASHINGTON STREET
Zod’s impact creates a 10 foot crater. Superman follows landing next to the stunned General. Superman picks him up by the neck holding him in mid air.
Superman: “I will never allow these people to fall victim to your petty masquerades.”
Zod: “These people deserve a better protector.”
Zod fires eye beams directly into Superman’s eyes. Superman unable to see releases his grip on Zod. He begins unleashing violent punches on Superman who is unable to fight back. Zod rips a parking meter stand out of the ground knocking Superman through a wall into a store.
EXT: WHITEHOUSE LAWN
Military personal escort Luthor, President, and staff out of the Whitehouse. They all see the destruction for the first time.
President: “Unbelievable”
Luthor turns toward the leading officer: “I want to see him.”
Officer: “Excuse me?”
Luthor: “This Kal-El. Take me to him.”
Officer: “Mr. Luthor I’m under direct order from Secretary Hanson.”
Luthor grabs the officer by the collar: “I don’t care about your orders get me a chopper and take me to him!”
Officer shocked at Luthor’s force: “Yes sir”
EXT: WASHINGTON STREET
With Superman buried in building debris Zod picks up a gas truck tossing it in the debris. Zod fires his eye laser at the truck causing a massive explosion demolishing the building.
CUT TO:
Luthor loading into a military helicopter.
EXT: WASHINGTON STREET
Zod walks toward the large flames. Zod notices the dozens of frightened onlookers.
Zod: “He could have been your savior, yet your worthless planet turned him into a mere mortal.”
Through the flames Superman emerges.
Superman: “This planet kept me from turning into you.”
Superman fires his eye beams at Zod who counters with his. The two Kryptonians brace themselves as the immense power begins to grow. A power surge begins to grow where the two beams connect. After several moments the surge becomes unstable causing a massive explosion leveling the surrounding buildings.
INT: HELICOPTER
Luthor and the crew brace as they feel the effects from the massive explosion.
Pilot: “Everyone ok back there.”
Luthor: “Just get to that blast! I need to see this.”
EXT: WASHINGTON STREET
As the debris and smoke settles Superman, braced against a building, see’s Zod wounded on the ground. Superman makes his way to Zod.
In a last ditch effort Zod reaches for the dagger that took Jor-El’s life. As Superman walks up Zod aims the dagger for his chest but Superman grabs Zod’s arm in time. Superman squeezes down on Zod’s wrist to the point of bones cracking.
Superman: “Your reign in over Zod.”
Zod drops the dagger from immense pain.
Zod: “Don’t do this Kal-El. Think about your father.”
Superman: “For that reason I cannot let you live.”
Superman grabs Zod’s head breaking his neck. Zod’s body becomes limp falling to the ground. Superman steps back exhausted. Dozens of onlookers cheer in happiness.
CUT TO:
Luthor exits the chopper finally seeing Superman for himself.
CUT TO:
Superman takes in the cheers for a moment and then takes to the sky.
CUT TO:
Lois watches in awe as the world’s hero flies off.
CUT TO:
Luthor looks at the sky with an angered expression.
THREE DAYS LATER
A headline flashes up reading “A SUPER MAN”
The camera pans out revealing Perry White sitting at his desk reading over the story.
INT: PERRY WHITE’S OFFICE
Lois sits, opposite Perry’s desk, intently watching for his reaction. After another moment Perry tosses the binder on his desk.
Perry: “Lois I’ve got thirty one years in this business. I’ve seen and read through a lot world changing garbage but I’ll have to say that may be one of the best I’ve ever read. It’s tomorrow’s front page. Nice job kid.”
Perry for the first time cracks a smile allowing Lois to feel approval. Lois speechless from the compliment can only form a giddy smile.
Perry: “Now get out of my office. I’ve got a new guy coming in today. I need to rehearse my speech.”
EXT: KENT FARM-DAY
INT: CLARK’S BEDROOM
Clothes and boxes are scattered all over the room. Clark folds several shirts into a suitcase.
Martha folds another shirt placing it into the suitcase. “Are you sure you’re ready for this Clark? I mean you’ve never even spent the night away from home.”
Jonathan brings in several more packing boxes: “He just saved the world Martha. I think he can handle being on his own. I’m just glad he’s putting that degree to use.”
Clark laughs: “I’m not going away forever but it’s time for me to branch out. Plus writing for the Daily Planet is the opportunity of a life time.”
Martha: “I know it’s just you’ve grown up so fast in three days.”
Clark tosses several items in a box.
Clark: “I can honestly say my future took a turn I did not see coming.”
EXT: DRIVEWAY-DUSK
Clark finishes tossing his belongings into his truck. Martha and Jonathan look on as their precious son prepares to leave. Clark walks back over to them.
Clark: “I’ll call when I get there.”
A tear falls down Martha’s eye has she hugs Clark: “I love you and be careful.”
Jonathan: “Are you going straight there?”
Clark: “Just one stop and I’ll be on my way.”
Jonathan: “You know the doctors say she may not regain any memory?”
Clark: “I know I just need to say good bye.”
Jonathan smiles hugging his son: “I love you and am really proud of you son.”
Clark turns walking to his truck.
INT: HOSPITAL ROOM
Clark, now wearing black framed glasses, enters the empty room to see Lana, unconscious, lying in the bed connected to several monitors. Clark walks over to the bed taking her hand.
Clark holding back the tears: “When you told me I would one day do great things you were right. I have to go now and to finish what I started. I’m sorry this happened but I promise to always protect you. Never forget me Lana as I will never forget you.”
Clark kisses her hand and walks away.
EXT: DAILY PLANET-DAY
Clark, wearing a nice suit, nervously walks up the steps toward the revolving door.
INT: DAILY PLANET-LOBBY
Clark enters the busy lobby overwhelmed by the mass of people. Clark locates the elevator and hops on.
INT: MEDIA FLOOR
Clark exits the elevator to the frantic floor. Superman photos and news fill the mouths of all the writers. Clark takes in the moment before a high pitched voice.
Jimmy: Hi! Are you the new guy?”
Clark startled turns around: “Hey yeah I’m Clark Kent.”
Jimmy: “Cool I’m Jimmy let me show you around.”
Lois, with her nose in a book, walks by the two men.
Jimmy: “Lois meet the new guy, Clark Kent.”
Lois nonchalantly sticks out her hand: “Hi I’m Lois nice to meet you.”
Clark got off guard by her beauty takes her hand: “Very nice to meet you Lois.”
Perry’s door bust open: “Mark! Get in my office!”
Clark nerved from Perry’s tone: “It’s Clark sir.”
Perry: “Whatever, just come in here.”
Lois: “Enjoy the welcome speech Clark. See ya around.”
EXT: LEXCORP-DAY
INT: STEELE ROOM
Elevator door opens and Luthor exits. Luthor walks over to another door and manipulates the key code causing the door to slide open.
INT: LAB
A technologically advanced lab with many robotic gadgets assemble war suits. Luthor walks over to several completed versions of the suits wear Colonel Wilson stands. Luthor pans over the suits for a moment.
Luthor: “Beautiful aren’t they?”
Wilson: “Never seen anything quite like it sir.”
A lab worker inserts a green circular stone into the suits chest piece.
Luthor: “This is the crown jewel Slade, Kryptonite. After testing it ourselves we discovered it’s a hundred times more powerful than anything on this planet. We could power the world for another million years and not burn a single fossil fuel.”
Wilson: “You’re not interested in powering the world. You’re going after Superman. I read the reports and know how it effects on him.”
Luthor smiles: “We were surprised the fragments remained intact after the explosion. I figured there was no reason to let it go to waste. Truth is I’m an alpha male Slade. I’m not interested in placing trust in some alien even if the President is ready to.”
Wilson: “You gonna let me take him down with this suite?”
Luthor: “Kill the alien yes, but I’ve got something else in mind for your suite.”
INT: WHITEHOUSE PRESS CONFERENCE
Hundreds of reporters flash pictures and sit in close attention as the President steps to the podium.
President: “The answer to whether we are alone in this universe as been answered. That answer came with catastrophic acts of violence and hatred. Those acts will forever be scared into our planet’s history. However once again the human race has demonstrated the ability to prevail but we this was not accomplished alone…
CUT TO:
Superman suspended high above the atmosphere, looking down at the Earth with a face of purpose and satisfaction, listening to the President’s speech.
(President V.O.) “A new alley of the human race was gained. As humans our nature is to fear the unknown. In this case I am asking we do not show fear but allegiance. I am proposing a treaty that will gain diplomacy with this outsider, with this Superman. So that whatever enemies we may face we will not face alone but together.”
AFTER CREDITS
INT: MEDIA FLOOR
Perry: “Clark I’ve got an interview for you.”
Clark happy for the news: “Who is it?”
Perry: “Brue Wayne is in town and is finally willing to talk a little bit.”
Lois jealous of Clark’s opportunity: “I can take it if you want Chief. I’ve got more experience.”
Perry: “Out of my hands Lois. Wayne requested Clark.”
Clark forms a giddy smile on his face
Perry: “Wayne has a ride waiting for you down stairs.”
EXT: DAILY PLANET STREET
Clark walks down the busy steps to a black Mercedes. An elder British man ALFRED opens the door.
Alfred: “Good day Mr. Kent. Master Wayne is looking forward to your meeting.”
Clark shocked at his special treatment gets into the car: “Thank you.”
EXT: PRIVATE RUNWAY
The black Mercedes drive up to a private jet sitting on the runway. Clark exits the car amazed at the expensive jet.
Alfred: “Master Wayne is waiting on his jet.”
INT: JET
Clark enters the jet to find the finest furnishings a billionaire would own. Clark makes his way further into the jet to find Bruce Wayne and two other men sitting at a table. Wayne stands to greet Clark.
Wayne: “Clark Kent so great to meet you.”
Clark completely star struck shakes his hand: “Mr. Wayne it is an honor.”
Wayne: “Please take a seat. Meet my guest Hal Jordan and Barry Allen. They are equally excited to meet you.”
Clark sits down and shakes the two men’s hand.
Clark: “Wow Mr. Wayne I apologize if I seem star struck, but I just started this week and never guessed my first project would involve someone of your stature.”
Wayne: “Please Clark no need to be nervous.”
Clark takes a deep breath: “Ok I’m good.”
Clark pulls a turns on a recorder: “Where do we start?”
Wayne gently pushes the stop button on the recorder: “Mr. Kent I’d rather keep this conversation private.”
