Well, it's confirmed. Joss Whedon is coming back to write and direct the sequel to The Avengers. Not to mention Thanos will be the villain. However, no team members are confrimed for the sequel just yet, so thiis will feature who I think would be in the line up. Keep in mind, it will be a new line up, so no actors from the first one will be featured.
Patrick Wilson as Hank Pym/Ant Man
I know a lot of people have wanted Nathan Fillion for the role. Problem is, he's not interested in the role. Patrick Wilson is my choice for the role. He's no stranger being a super hero, just watch Watchmen. Now, I'm not sure if they'll go with Pym or Ant Man II, Scott Lang. If Lang is chosen, then Adrien Brody gets my vote.
Morena Baccarin as Janet Van Dyne/Wasp
I chose her for mainly two reasons. One being is that she looks just like Wasp from the comics. The other being is that she has worked with Whedon before on Serenity. There's really no doubt in my mind that he'll go with her for the role.
Aldis Hodge as T'Challa/Black Panther
I did want to go with Triple A for this role at first, but he was casted as Kurse in Thor 2: The Dark World a few weeks ago. Aldis Hodge is my second choice for the role. How isn't he T'Challa? He can pull off a convincing African accent, he's into martial arts, and he's around the right age. As a bounus, he played a prince on Leverage. This guy is perfect for the role.
Dwayne Johnson as Namor
I may get hate for this choice, but let me explain. I'd rather have him play Namor then Luke Cage. I'm not racist, it's just that he looks closer to Namor then he dose Cage. He's been long rumored for the role of Black Adam, who dose bear a great resemblence to Namor in the face and personality. If not him, then Zachary Quinto or Sam Worthington will do.
Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Strange
I bet a lot of you expected Johnny Depp or Liam Neeson for this role. Guys, they're in just about every movie nowadays. Dempsey, who hasen't been in much, wants the role and is the only actor expressing interest in it. I'm aware of the Viggo Mortensen as Dr. Strange rumor. He's not a bad choice, but it was later denied. Plus, Dempsey dose look very similar to Dr. Strange.
Yvonne Strahovski as Carol Denvers/Ms Marvel
She was rumored for the role in The Avengers. Of course, Ms Marvel wasen't in it, but there is hope for those of us who want to see her in the Marvel Cienmatic Universe. As we all know, a SHEILD tv series for NBC is in the works, with a role for Carol Denvers. Strahovski is no stranger to television, with her roles on Dexter and Chuck. To add to this, she's really the only one Marvel is considering.
Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon
Mackie was casted for the role in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier not to long ago. I personally would've chosen Will Smith, but Mackie is just as good of an actor. I think The Hurt Locker proved that to us all. I do look forward to seeing him in CA:TWS.
Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine
I know not a lot of people liked him in Ironman 2, or the film in general. While I did enjoy both him and the movie, it was my least favourite of The Avengers lead ups. I do beleive the writing had something to do with fans not liking Cheadle in the role. But since he'll appear in Ironman 3 and his own film, Cheadle may do a better job with the role.
Paul Bettany as Vision
I'm aware of the rumors that Clark Gregg might return for the role of Vision. However, not to many people are big on that, thinking Coulson's death in The Avengers would be meaningless. I have to agree with that. Bettany may already voice JARVIS, but this will give the chance to take on a physical role and still voice the character.
Damion Poitier as Thanos
To be honest, I thought Ultron would be the villain for The Avengers 2, and Thanos would be in the 3rd. Looks like I was wrong on that account. Poitier played Thanos in the first post credit scenes in the first one. I have heard him speak, and really dosen't sound threatening at all. But he looks threatening, that's for sure. I do think they need to modify his voice to make it sound more commanding, or get another voice actor.
