Let's start off with Metropolis. Firstly, it has to be set in a real world location to be filmed and I pick the city of Chicago. It is where Christopher Nolan filmed his Batman film trilogy and is where I want the backdrop for Metropolis to be. It would be digitally enhanced for exterior shots (Like Batman Begins) and would also have important buildings digitally created like the Daily Planet and LexCorp Tower imposed into it. (LexCorp Tower will be based on the International Finance Centre in Hong Kong)
For the scenes with Smallville, I decided to use a real world Kansas town instead of using a different country because I would want it to be authentic. I chose the town of Chase, KA, which had a population of 490 in the year 2000. Below is an image of how I picture the Kent Farm.
The hardest part for me in this article is the Superman Costume. Now in the film, here is how the suit is created and thought of:
Clark returns to the Kent Farm to tell his parents that he is going to help the world with his powers and go public. Now he has been hiding in the shadows all his life which is how his parents taught him to stay out of the limelight. They say he needs to drastically change his appearance so he can keep some sort of normal life. Martha goes to fetch a "Red Blanket with a Yellow emblem on it" and says that he should use this and reveals it is what they found him in. In a comical moment, Clark says what will it go with. Jonathan goes out and buys a "blue wetsuit" and "red boots" and they put it together. Clark says something is missing and copies the design of the yellow emblem which Martha makes "Red and Yellow" and they put it on the front of the suit. It would look very close to this below:

Now onto Brainiac, the main villain. He will be an Artificial Intelligence and NOT a living being. He was created by the Coluans who were living Green Beings as there Super Computer that ran the planet (Like Brainiac from S:TAS but on Colu) and took all the knowledge and destroyed the planet. He then went to worlds and took all their knowledge before destroying the planet. I envision him as a cross between Iron Man and the Brainiac recently featured in the Geoff Johns comic storyline.
Now if you're thinking how could he take Earth's knowledge? Well he comes to Earth looking for the Kryptonian Crystal of Knowledge that eluded him when he destroyed Krypton and that was the most advanced civilization he came across so is his top target. It was actually the hard drive of Kal-El's ship that Jor-El hid and sent with Kal-El but he doesn't know and the ship is buried under a field in Kansas. Brainiac would basically copy all information from hard drives and computer systems across the globe and "cut and paste them all" into his hard drive system on his Skull Ship and leave the planet before sending a bomb into the centre of the planet and destroying it. I feel it is necessary to somehow explain this in the movie otherwise it is too much fantasy and would leave the audience working it out themselves and if partially plausible, then makes the movie better.
The last thing and the final scene in the movie is Clark taking the Crystal of Knowledge to the artic circle to get rid of the thing and keep it from harms way. He throws it away and the Fortress of Solitude grows and is created. Below is how I envision my Fortress. Similiar to the Donner/Singer/Smallville Fortress but with a difference. It is more underground instead of all being above ground with only some of the columns visible. The Crystal is a ball of Kryptonian crystal and is a super computer that stores their civilizations history. It is about the size of a man's hand.
I don't think there is anything else to explain that isn't going to be clear anything.
