After i posted my previous article about the 20 greatest super villains of all time, I received several comments about me not really knowing much about the Marvel Universe. In this article, I will present to you my top 20 Marvel super villains. I will give you reasons as to why these 20 made it on to my list and go a step further and explain why certain villains didn't make it onto the list.

As apposed to my previous list, this list won't have such strict barriers. All villains in the Marvel Universe are fair game!

20. Lullaby

She's not psychotic, but she is a complete B*tch! She can sing people to sleep and then control them... She did this with a rich man and ordered him to divorce his wife and marry her. She then ordered him to jump out the window to his death. Lullaby though not a well known villain is definitely capable of holding her own against X-men, Avengers etc. Her powers make her capable of even controlling super villains.

19. Stryfe

Extinction Agenda... Stryfe was raised as a son by Apocalypse and Strife saw him as dear old Dad. But this didn't stop him from trying to destroy him... and the rest of the world with him...

18. Apocalypse

I'm gonna skip telling you why I chose this baddy since I've already explained my reason in my previous editorial.

17. Thanos

Here ya go fan boys! Your mac daddy of evil! Thanos comes in at # 17 because he's the only being crazy enough to fall in love with Death herself.

16. Demogoblin

Demogoblin, ok so he's not Green goblin but I hope you guys accept this demonic sob in his place. Demo Goblin is crazier and far more powerful than Green Goblin, Hob Goblin, Grey Goblin or any other Goblin you can think of, plus he's crazy enough to accept that Shreik and Carnage consider him their son.

15. Shadow King

The reason Charles Xavier created the X-Men and yet he's never been completely defeated... he haunts Xavier's every waking and sleeping moment. Need I say more?

14. Phalanx

Phalanx is Marvel's answer to "The Borg". It took several tie in comics to deal with them and even jump started the creation of Generation-X.

13. Nimrod

The ultimate Sentinal. here ya go Marvel fanboys, I didn't want to put the Sentinals on here, but here's the next best thing.

12. Loki

The God of Mischief. Again, there ya go Marvel fanboys, you asked for him so I don't really see a reason to tell you why he's on the list. Now I know many of you are gonna throw a fit over him being in the #12 spot but be thankful I included him at all.

11. Mephisto

He takes pleasure in people thinking he's the Devil himself. Evil Evil Evil, but not quite evil enough since he tried to stop his son from creating Hell on Earth.

10. Dark Phoenix

She nearly wiped out the entire Shi'ar Empire. The darkness that resides in Jean Grey made itself known with a bang.

9. Chameleon

Able to make himself into anybody, Spider-man was constantly looking over his shoulder when this villain discovered his identity.

8. Baron Helmut Zemo

One of the few villains to not only take on Captain America toe to toe, but also deceive the entire world into thinking he was a superhero after Onslaught wiped out most of the Marvel Universe's heroes.

7. Dracula

I don't really think I need to tell you why he's on the list.

6. Exodus

Immortal, powerful and immoral. Though a loyal descyple of Magneto, I don't think it would take to much to make this mutant turn against his master and destroy him.

5. Black Heart

Son of Mephisto, former ruler of Hell. I don't think to many beings can say they were literally kicked out of hell for being to evil, but he can.

4. Carrion

he touches people and they die, what more do you need?

3. Planet of the Symbiotes

2. Carnage

The name says it all...
1. Shreik

Her scream causes those around her to turn against each other, War incarnate... psychotic enough to convince Carnage to take her as his bride and mother of the Carnage family. I chose her as #1 based on this as well as her origins of being a drug dealer... there is no one more evil in the world.

Now I know there are several fanboys out there who are probably throwing a hissy fit right now because Dr. Doom and Magneto weren't included in the list. It's not that I don't like them, but I mean come on... you can defeat Dr. Doom by taking his mask off and making him look in a mirror. As for Magneto... Boohoo, "I'm gonna seek my revenge on all of humanity because the Nazi's killed my parents and tortured me." His powers are cool, but seriously take away his powers and he's nothing but a child sucking his thumb in the corner.

@starscream That's not the problem. I HOPE people have differing opinions from me because otherwise the world would be boring as hell. Here is why I have a problem: Planet of the Symbiotes is not technically a villain. It's a story arc. Difference. In addition, yes, he does need to tell us why Dracula is on the list because, frankly, Dracula is not ALL that important of a villain in the Marvel Universe, nor is he a particularly stunning original creation. The others, while I may be in total disagreement (especially with Shriek), I will not complain about.

I can forgive Doom & Magneto. But where the blue hell is Norman Osborn? Sure before he became Iron Patriot I could see him being left off. Though he is one of the most iconic villains he was more or less a Spider-Man villain. But once he lead the Dark Avengers against all the heroes he became not only Iconic but the main Marvel Villain for that year.

I will give you mad props for adding Dracula. There must be like a 7 degrees of separation between Dracula & the rest of the Marvel Universe.

These are some C and D list villains right here. Shriek is the best villain in Marvel?

Lullaby? Thanos is 17? The guy that killed half the population of the entire universe and has single handedly been the biggest threat to the Marvel Universe on more than one occasion, and he's ranked below Demogoblin, Shriek, Carnage, and all the other jobbers on this list?

Not to mention that your other villain list, the 20 best villains of all time, had Marvel characters listed on it that are not in here. Sorry, but this list doesnt seem to have any logic to it. It just seems like you picked somewhat obscure villains that had 15 minutes of fame in the 90's just so your list could be different from the norm.

And that is pretty disappointing because i really enjoyed other villain list.

Ok, with Lullaby, I chose her for the simple fact that even though she was only in a handful of comics... I think she's truly underestimated. She's unpredictable... She's been incarcerated for so long without any mention, who knows what could be going on with her.

I chose the planet of the symbiotes because there's absolutely no telling how many symbiotes there are or if any of them remained silently hidden on Earth without Spider-man or Venom even knowing it. I was fascinated with this story arc from the very beginning, the first time I saw it in a news rack in a gas station in Arizona.

Carrion I chose because though Carnage's name tells you what his goal is, Carrion is just kind of quiet. In the entire Maximum Carnage story line he didn't really say much... Imagine a villain like that in the real world, who could just reach out and touch you and puff you're dead without even knowing what hit you.

Chameleon I chose because he's the ultimate enemy. Imagine sitting there talking to someone you thought you knew extremely well and for along time, but then all of a sudden they get up to get a glass of ice tea or whatever, come up behind you and slice your throat open like they were just walking through the park or changing the channel on the tv.

Dracula I chose because as children he haunted our nightmares. He's far more iconic than Magneto or Dr. Doom and more well known that Santa Clause, so I had too.

The villains that were listed on my other article didn't make it on here with the exception of a couple, because 1. I didn't want to continue repeating myself.
2. The other article was to restricting in my rules for greatest villains.
3. I wanted to choose villains that people didn't expect that I saw as dangerous.
4. just plain evil wasn't enough for this list. And destruction isn't everything.

honestly, I wasn't going for villains with reputation.. it's the ones with little reputation that I most wanted to include, because those are the ones that are more dangerous. If you noticed my list consists of mostly villains your parents and grandparents wouldn't know about. I did that for a reason. The villains who are popular are the same ones that you're parents and grandparents are capable of sounding "cool" by talking about because they're well known, but they're also the ones that started the Marvel Universe and back in those days the stories weren't that creative and the villains weren't really all that threatening.

Your reason for not including Magneto is complete bull***. His parents were killed while he was 10. Then, he was tortured until he became an adult. To make things worse, mutants were being discriminated. He didn't want anyone else to go through what he did, and who's to say that we wouldn't put mutants in concentration camps? Huh? So now he's trying to take down humanity because of their misdoings, to both of his 'kinds'.

@ comiccow6
yeah. the way he explained is reasoning was pretty childish. I'm pretty sure if you were in Magneto's position you would probably boohoo to. and this is more of a list of 20 than a Top 20.

I'm usually not one to critic someone for having a different opinion but no Dr. Doom, Kingpin, or Galactus but Chameleon gets the #8 spot?

So you love the 90s, where comic books nearly died. Mmmkay.

I don't get why Thanos is so spectacular. Just because he's pretty much the most powerful villain in the Marvel Universe doesn't mean he's the most interesting, or interesting at all for that matter.

I tried, and not very enthusiastically, to explain who Thanos is to my sister's boyfriend after seeing the Avengers, and it's really only when you're telling someone who doesn't read comics about Thanos, that you realize just how epically lame he is.

My favorite villain? Today it's Otto.

Inspiration for the Merc with the Mouth.

Spider Man fan much? This makes no sense. marvel72 nailed it.

I like marvel72 list with a few changes.

I would change galactus to doramammu. I dont consider Galactus a villian. He's just a squirrle trying to get a nut.

I'd take off kingpin, just cause he's not evil enough or powerful enough. Put in sutur.

I'd take off bullseye, for power reasons and replace him with korvac.
