Im going to start by explaining a bit about Doctor Strange, even if you are familiar with the good old Doc, theres probably things that you didnt know . . .  So read on . . . and enjoy!

Doctor Strange is a fictional character that appears in publications published by Marvel Comics. The character was co-created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #110 (July 1963).
Debuting in the Silver Age of comic books, the character has featured in several self-titled series and Marvel-endorsed products including arcade and video games; animated television series and a direct-to-DVD film and merchandise such as trading cards.
Stephen Strange is a world-renowned but selfish neurosurgeon, until a car accident damaged his hands, preventing him from conducting surgery. Depressed and scouring the world for a cure to his condition, Strange locates a hermit called the Ancient One in the Himalayas. After Strange selflessly attempts to thwart the Ancient One's traitorous disciple, Baron Mordo (who would become one of Stange's most enduring antagonists), he is taught the mystic arts.
As the Ancient One's disciple, Strange encounters the entity Nightmare and a number of odd mystical foes before battling his eventual arch-foe: Dormammu, a warlord from a alternate dimension called the "Dark Dimension". Strange is also aided by a nameless girl, who is eventually revealed to be the niece of the villain and called Clea. When Strange helps a weakened Dormammu drive off the ramapaging beasts the Mindless Ones and return them to their prison, he is allowed to leave unchallenged.
Doctor Strange is a master magician, and was the holder of the title of "Sorcerer Supreme" of the Marvel Universe for many years. Eternity, the sentience of the Marvel Universe, has described Strange as "more powerful by far than any of your fellow humanoids".
The character can use magic to achieve a number of effects, such as energy projection; teleportation; telepathy; astral projection the creation of materials, such as food and water, or creating planet-wide protective shields. When casting a spell the character is often written to be invoking the name of a mystical entity, such as one of the Vishanti (Hoggoth, Oshtur and Agamotto) or the group the Octessence. These entities usually lend their power to a particular effect, such as the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak, that Strange can use to entrap foes.
Strange was also schooled in the use of dark magic by one-time foe Kaluu, using it to destroy the entity Shuma-Gorath. The use of this magic, however, is both addictive and corruptive and Kaluu had to purge the magic from Strange before it could take full effect.

Lets get on with things shall we?

The ancient one >> Ben Kingsley

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #110, referred to as "The Master"
First called "The Ancient One":
Strange Tales #115
Profile:
Old beyond years, wise beyond tears... the 600-year old Teacher and Mentor to Stephen Strange, and former Sorcerer Supreme of our dimension. Raised in Kamar-Taj, he lived in a hidden sanctuary in the Himalayas
He has "transitioned" and left the mortal plane ("killed" by his pupil Dr. Strange in Marvel Premiere #10 to stop the threat of Shuma-Gorath), to become One With All.

wpt - It seems to me a perfect fit, nothing better that "Ghandi" to portray a 600 year old Sorcerer Supreme.

Wong >> Daniel Dae Kim

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #110 (not referred to by name)
Latest Appearance:
Doctor Strange (vol. 2) The Flight of Bones #1-4
Profile:
Ever faithful servant, friend and "business partner" of Stephen Strange.

wpt - Im my opinion, this guy IS Wong! I cant help but every time i see him in Lost think about and more and more im convinced!

Clea >> Gemma Ward

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #126 (called "the mysterious silver-haired girl")
First called "Clea":
Strange Tales #146 (Ditko's last issue)
Latest Appearance:
Doctor Strange Sorceror Supreme #83
Profile:
Beloved of Stephen Strange. For years she also lived with him and studied as his disciple. Born in the dimension of the dread Dormammu, she now serves as Regent of that realm.

wpt - Gemma is an unknown and for what could be a minor roll in the movie she fits well. After seeing "The Strangers" i was sold, not a GREAT part in it, but did the job!

Topaz >> Angelina Jolie

First Appearance:
Werewolf by Night #13
First Dr. Strange appearance:
Doctor Strange (vol. 1) #75
Latest Appearance:
Dr. Strange vol. 2, Flight of Bones, #1-4
Profile:
Topaz is a powerful empath with healing abilities, who was raised from childhood by the sorcerer Taboo. She has had encounters with Werewolf by Night (Jack Russell), Dracula, Mephisto, and Dormammu.
Topaz was dragged into Hades to stop the threat of Dracula (TOD #62-64), and was trapped within a demon's body. She was able to escape with the help of Dr. Strange, but was separated from the empathic half of her soul Finally, Strange restored her soul in an epic battle with the evil sorcerer Urthona (Dr. Strange vol. 1 #81). However, in order to defeat Urthona and save his friends, Strange had to destroy most of his mystical objects of power.

wpt - A mystical woman without feelings? Puuuuurrrrrrfect fit!

Rintrah >> John C. McGinley's

First Appearances:
Dr. Strange #80 (Dec. 1985) - last panel
Dr. Strange #81 (Feb. 1986)
(Historical note: The names Rintrah, Enitharmon, and Urthona first appeared in the works of the 18th century artist and visionary, William Blake, in his illustrated prose of "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell", and in his epic work "Milton".)
Latest Appearances:
Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme #51 (March 1993): Rintrah boldly smashed a boobytrapped talisman of Tartessus, and he was burnt to a crisp!
Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme #52 (April 1993): Dr. Strange sends Rintrah's shielded remains to another astral plane for temporary safekeeping.
Profile:
Rintrah, the Revenger from R'Vaal, was a magical apprentice to the alien magus Enitharmon the Weaver in another dimension. After Dr. Strange enlisted the aid of Enitharmon to repair his tattered Cloak of Levitation, Rintrah delivered the renewed Cloak to Strange on Earth. Rintrah's often-uttered exclamation was: "By the Warp and Woof of the Woven Worlds!"
After sharing some adventures with the good Doctor, Rintrah returned to his home dimension with Enitharmon (in Strange Tales vol. 2, #17 (Aug. 1988)). Rintrah soon returned to Earth (in Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme #5 (July. 1989)), stating that Enitharmon had taught him all he can... or cared to. Rintrah then became an apprentice of Dr. Strange, and after some challenging times earned both the respect of his new Master as well as Strange's original blue Cloak of Levitation and Amulet of Agamotto.
Rintrah often masked his brutish appearance by donning the visage of old movie stars (like Bogart). He was known for his humor, loyalty, and directness, and ultimately those qualities resulted in his abrupt (but hopefully not final) demise.

wpt - I see this guy kinda like the comic relief of the movie. Turns into old movie stars?! Coooooooool! What better fit?!

Nebulos >> CGI VOICED BY Kevin Spacey

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #161
Latest Appearance:
Strange Tales #163
Profile:
Lord of the Planet Perilous! He who wields the Staff of Polar Power, which draws to itself the evil force of its victims.
Threatening to unleash the concentrated evil of the Staff of Polar Power, Nebulos was confronted by The Living Tribunal for daring to upset the cosmic balance of good and evil. In the fierce confrontation that followed, The Living Tribunal destroyed the Planet Perilous, and Nebulos was buried in an avalanche.
Perhaps Nebulos is buried forever, or perhaps he escaped to appear in Godzilla movies or Power Ranger shows...

wpt - All voice in this one, and Kevin has one of the best bad ass voices around!

Nightmare >> Willem Dafoe

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #110 (along with the first appearance of Dr. Strange)
Latest Appearances:
Nightmare mini-series #1-4, Dr. Strange Sorcerer Supreme #79, Captain America vol. 3, #8-10
Profile:
Strange's oldest and most persistent foe. Nightmare rules the Dream Dimension, where the dreams of mortals become the vehicles of his malevolence. Many times Dr. Strange has had to enter his chaotic kingdom to battle for the lives and sanity of others. Normally Nightmare's powers cannot extend into the Waking World, but he has found nefarious ways to affect and attack our "reality". He once entrapped the cosmic entity Eternity in a dream state, thus warping reality and causing the "end of the world".

wpt - Dafoe is one of those actors that gives me the creeps! I was not sold on Green Goblin but Nightmare can be the villain for him!

Satannish >> Donald Sutherland (CGI not out of option with voice over by Mr Sutherland)

First Appearance:
Doctor Strange #175
Profile:
No, this is NOT Dormmamu!
No, this is NOT Mephisto!
No, this is NOT Satan!
Satannish the Supreme stands above mere antipodes of good and evil, and bestows mystic power upon those who would pay his dread price... their Souls! He is served by the nefarious Sons of the Satannish, lead by Asmodeus.

wpt - Ahhhhhhh Mr Sutherland . . . One of the great actors of our time! CGI would fit better i think. Mr Sutherland HAS presence, one of the qualities a great villain MUST have!

Shuma-Gorath >> CGI voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan

First Appearance:
Marvel Premiere #6
Profile:
Shuma-Gorath was one of the "Old Ones", a hideous malevolent god from the dawn of time (in the grand tradition of the Lovecraftian Cthulhu mythos).
Shuma-Gorath re-entered our world by using the Ancient One as a vehicle. In the classic Marvel Premiere #10, Dr. Strange was forced to end the life of his own beloved master the Ancient One in order to also end the threat of Shuma-Gorath. However, through this sacrifice, the Ancient One was released from his earthly limitations to become One With All.

wpt - Again, its all about the voice with this character. Perfect fit!

Umar >> Lucy Lawless

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #150
Latest Appearance:
Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme #22-24
Profile:
Sister of the dread Dormammu.

wpt - Lawless is one of those actresses that no matter how old she is . . BAM BAM . . if you now what i mean! In "Spartacus" she plays a cold hearted evil bitch that . . . . Oh im not gonna spoil it ,GO WATCH IT!

Yandroth >> Timothy Olyphant

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #164
Latest Appearance:
Defenders vol. 2 #1
Profile:
Mad scientific genius from another dimension, who enjoyed the challenge of matching technological terrors against the mystical might of Dr. Strange. He was seen falling endlessly into the dimension of dreams in Strange Tales #168. Yandroth miraculously escaped to return to Earth in Marvel Feature #1 with the doomsday device called the Omegatron, which spearheaded the first-ever assemblage of the Defenders. The Defenders continued to confront and defeat Yandroth/Omegatron over the years (Defenders #5, 69, 119). Finally (?), in Defenders vol. 2 #1 Yandroth once again returned to engender the reassembly of the Defenders, and with his dying breath placed a curse on the reluctant Defenders. Will this be the last we see of this mad technomage?

wpt - Yandroth is kinda like the bad guy from "Die Hard 4.0" ...... Wait ...... What?!

Mordo >> Rufus Sewell

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #111
Latest Appearance:
Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #87
Profile:
Dr. Strange's primary and constant nemesis. Mordo studied for years under The Ancient One, but used his powers and occult knowledge for evil. He aligned himself many times with Dormammu, in vain attempts at vanquishing Dr. Strange. Mordo finally made his peace with Dr. Strange and died in Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #87.

wpt - If you would bump into this guy in the street, you wouldn't say, "Rufus" or "Mr Sewell" ... you would go "Mooordooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Need i say more?!

Dormammu >> CGI voiced by Brian Cox

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #176
Latest Appearance:
Dr. Strange (vol. 2) #3-4, The Flight Of Bones
Profile:
The Dread One! Former ruler of the Dark Dimension, and eternal foe to Dr. Strange. His power derives from the worship of him by beings of the Dark Dimension and other stygian followers. His fiery visage comes from the mystical Flames of Regency, which materialize about the head of the ruler of the Dark Dimension. Dormammu is a being of pure mystical maniacal energy, and seemingly cannot be destroyed. He has always been opposed by the Sorcerer Supreme of the Earth dimension, first by the Ancient One and many times by Dr. Strange. Dormammu's evil presence is a continual threat, and he is determined to invade the Earth realm and vanquish Dr. Strange.
Relatives:
His sister is Umar, and his niece is Clea.

wpt - Another great voice!! What can i say!

Eternity >> CGI Voiced by Jack Nicholson

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #138
Latest Appearances:
Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme #36
Fantastic Four (vol. 3) #8
Profile:
Enigmatic all-powerful cosmic being whose very essence contains the entire cosmos! Although beyond concepts of good or evil, "he" has been both a friend and foe to Dr. Strange. He is also known by the name of Adam Qadmon (the first man).

wpt - Enigmatic? all-powerful? A cosmic being? Say no more, say no more!! Nudge Nudge!! Perfect fit!

Kallu >> Robert Knepper

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #147
Profile:
Nemesis of The Ancient One. Raised with The Ancient One in Kamar-Taj, he ruthlessly rose to power and lorded over that land.

wpt - Robert Knepper is fast becoming the standard in wacko, psyco, crazy-in-the-head, creppy to the bones villain! I mean, if they ever cast Carnage . . . . This your guy!!!!! And he is such a great guy in real life!

The Living Tribunal (Equity) >> Laurence Fishburne

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #157
Latest Appearance:
Rune/Silver Surfer #1
Profile:
Judgement incarnate of the infinite cosmos, whose function is to protect the Worlds Without End from an imbalance of mystical forces. The Living Tribunal is a primeval entity of incalculable power.
The Living Tribunal has 3 "profiles" or visages:
- Equity, the exposed face through which it usually speaks
- Revenge, the half-hooded face on the left
- Necessity, the completely hooded face on the right
The Living Tribunal appears on our plane of existence only in times of impending cosmic imbalance, or on the occasional Pink Floyd album cover.

wpt - Imagine that you are in a court and Morpheus as to decide if you live or die ...... Got it? Now close your eyes and imagine him giving you the sentence . . . . Thats "The Living Tribunal" right there!

The Mindless Ones >> CGI

First Appearance:
Strange Tales #127
Profile:
Brutish denizens of Dormammu's dark dimension. Trapped behind a mystical barrier, their singular mode is to fight and destroy without reason or end!

wpt - Do i need to explain these guys?!?!

Doctor Strange >> Johnny Depp

wpt - You have to admit that Johnny Depp is just to good to be true when it comes to Doctor Strange!! Just look at him! LOOK! Sure Liam Neeson can pull it off, but why go for an aged looking Doc when you can go for Deep and have the same or probably even better effect!? Right right, The Doc is kinda old, but Johnny fits like a glove in the role. And for the "waving magic hands" just look at Captain Sparrow!
