I know this isn't necessarily comic book news, but I have seen articles and fans of Supernatural on here before, so I thought I would share this with you guys.

Supernatural is a t.v. series that airs on the CW channel on Friday nights. It has been running for 6 seasons, and is currently airing it's 7th. In the beginning of the series, it followed a formula of "kill the thing of the day". Basically, Sam and Dean Winchester would hear of some supernatural force causing harm to some town, and they would travel to that town and take it down. While they did many of these side missions, they also were following a main over-arching plot that progressed every few episodes. Later on, the series somewhat swapped that formula and followed more closely the main plot, taking a break and "killing the thing of the day" every few episodes. The series is also rich with great and deep characters. I was watching DVD's from season 3 the other day, and my mind began to wonder: "This would make one heck of a video game!"
Here's how I picture it: (Bear in mind that this is all in my head. I haven't heard of any Supernatural video game out yet,or to come out.)
It would be a third-person shooter while also having a hand-to-hand combat system in it as well (much like 007 Everything or Nothing)
In the game, you could play as either Sam or Dean. They would both follow the same story, but with different takes on it. The player would follow one of the two formulas mentioned above (either follow the main story more closely, or have more "kill the thing of the day" missions). I think I would go with following the main story, while having a good number of side missions to do when you just wanna kill things.
The game could follow a pattern like Dead Island's. Sam and Dean would have one main quest going on, and have a number of "kill the thing of the day" side missions to do. The player would receive these missions from various sources. Some of these sources may include the brothers' laptop, the newspaper, or from Bobby. Bobby could gather intel like he does in the show, then call Sam and Dean on their cells and give them the info. The player can choose which of the missions to do at anytime. This game would also probably work well as a 2-player co-op.
I also picture the game featuring a sandbox gameplay, but instead of one big sandbox, there will be multiple smaller ones. For example, when the player would follow a mission, they will travel to one of the 'sandboxes' which would consist of a few nearby towns. During these missions, the player would run around the nearby towns talking to the locals, searching for clues about the 'thing' they're looking for, and kill baddies along the way. And of course, the players will be able to drive that iconic Impala to get around in the nearby towns. What would a Supernatural game be without the Impala?
I see this game being quite violent, bloody, and gory, as the show has gotten away with more gore than any other t.v. show I have ever seen.
I also think it would be real fun to include DLC's allowing the players to do missions as other key characters from the series (Castiel, Bobby, Jo, Rufus, etc.)
So what do you think? Does Supernatural have the potential to make a decent video game? Or is my mind just wandering too much? Comment below!
