In this my third MORE-ACCURATE X-MAN casting, after MARVEL gets
the X-MEN back, I thought I would bring-in those mutant folks from north of
the border, CANADA. I'm talkin' 'bout none other than the powerful people
from DEPARTMENT-H.....ALPHA FLIGHT!
Back in the day the CANADIAN government decided to start their own
program of mutant operatives they designated DEPARTMENT-H. Started by
Major JAMES McDONALD HUDSON (which the “H” stands for), who had a power-suit he
had developed that gave him super-powers, the elite force of DEPARTMENT-H was
designated ALPHA FLIGHT. McDONALD took the name VINDICATOR.
HUDSON enlisted a FIRST NATION'S medicine man with powerful
necromantic abilities by the name of JOHN TWOYOUNGMEN, giving him the name
SHAMAN. Then there was the beautiful shapeshifting woman SNOWBIRD,
the man who could transform into an enormous bigtfoot, SASQUATCH, the
brother and sister duo of NORTHSTAR and AURORA, the mighty, agile little-
man PUCK and the strange aquatic woman with the green hair MARRINA. With
them is SHAMAN'S daughter LIZ TWOYOUNGMEN with the name
TALISMAN. HUDSON also brings his wife in, HEATHER HUDSON, who takes the
VINDICATOR name, with JAMES taking the new name, GUARDIAN.
I've brought HEATHER HUDSON as VINDICATOR and TALISMAN in here a
little early to introduce them into the mix so that part's not “EXACTLY”
accurate in the original storyline.
The film starts with the X-MEN and their BLACKBIRD aircraft needing to
make an emergency landing at a small Canadian airport because a snowy
blizzard has seemingly come out of nowhere. While they try to figure out “what
the hell is going on” they are suddenly beset upon by ALPHA FLIGHT. They
seem to be trying to take WOLVERINE into custody and take him back to
DEPARTMENT-H. It was SHAMAN all along who was supernaturally
screwing with the weather.
THE X-MEN & ALPHA FLIGHT “BATTLE BIG-TIME” but eventually they
get things all sorted out.
Just when the X-MEN are leaving to go home a much more dangerous foe
attacks ALPHA FLIGHT, OMEGA FLIGHT! They are led by the android
woman DELPHINE COURTNEY (MX39147), who was created by
DEPARTMENT-H. She wants to kill every member of ALPHA FLIGHT and
has talked the rest of OMEGA FLIGHT into following her.
It seems while ALPHA FLIGHT was busy fighting the X-MEN and trying to
take WOLVERINE back to DEPARTMENT-H the Canadian government
axed Department-H. DELPHINE COURTNEY thinks it's ALPHA FLIGHT'S
fault for getting shut down so she talked the lesser members of
Department-H, BETA FLIGHT, which were the members who were still
learning to fight together as operatives, into destroying ALPHA FLIGHT.
DELPHINE erroneously thinks that if they kill off ALPHA FLIGHT the
government will reinstate DEPARTMENT-H!
The X-MEN are swept up in an horrendous battle for ALPHA FLIGHT'S
and their OWN VERY LIVES!
I've kind of mixed THE X-MEN meet ALPHA FLIGHT with ALPHA
FLIGHT'S first-part storyline of their own comic, here. I thought this movie
idea needed a little more plot than simply ALPHA FLIGHT fighting to get
LOGAN back.
This would introduce ALPHA FLIGHT to the movie-going world and would
lead into ALPHA FLIGHT'S very own movie which would go more into
detail of DEPARTMENT-H'S and ALPHA FLIGHT'S origin and ALPHA
FLIGHTS own first comic book volume and continuing story.

Some folks seem to think that CYCLOPS is nothing but a serious and humorless
character but CYCLOPS was written by great writers as much more complex.
Yes, he is serious about his responsibility of leading the X-MEN in the field
but he has a sense of humor too. So a totally serious stiff actor is not what
is needed for SCOTT SUMMERS but someone more rounded. I believe JUSTIN HARTLEY
is the exact actor needed for him. Not too old, not too young and exactly the
right height (6'3”) & build. I really didn't like the way they portrayed
CYCLOPS in the first X-MEN, as a “dick”! SCOTT SUMMERS is not a dick, he's more
like a big brother who leads the X-MEN with caring yet great inner-strength.

FANCAST that RACHEL McADAMS was too flat-chested to play JEAN
GREY and you know, she does have quite a small chest. So it dawned
on me, the actress I had for HEATHER HUDSON/VINDICATOR in my ALPHA
FLIGHT FANCAST, I put up here an ancient time ago, was the spitting image
of JEAN from the comics, ALICIA WITT. She has plenty of boobies! Lol
She's a very fine and fitting actress.

reminiscent of DANIEL CUDMORE in X2. On a personal note, I actually
really like that he's playing THE LONE RANGER with DEPP!
